In the steamy and suspenseful sequel to Sugar Daddy (“A totally gripping take on romance and revenge!”—Lauren Blakely), a heartbreaking rift threatens to unravel a dangerous alliance . . . and a fragile new love.
After posing as an escort for the Sugar Bowl online dating service, Sela Halstead is looking for one thing: payback. She's closing in on the site's heartless founder, Jonathon Townsend, and she needs Beckett North, Townsend's business partner and her lover, by her side. She'd thought that their intimate nights together had forged an unbreakable bond, but after a shocking betrayal, Sela begins to doubt the brilliant bad boy. When push comes to shove, can she trust Beck to do the right thing?
Now that he understands the truth, Beck will stop at nothing to secure the reckoning Sela deserves. But between his desire for her and his disgust for JT, Beck doesn't exactly have a lot of control over his emotional state. Left with no other choice, he must summon all his discipline to maintain JT's trust and pretend that they're still friends. But how far will Beck go to prove his loyalty to Sela? He nearly lost her once. To keep her, Beck might have to kill for her.

Note: Sugar Rush ends on a cliffhanger. Sela and Beck's story concludes in Sugar Free!

Oh my freaking goodness. Sugar Rush has left me with a thundering heart and completely out of breath!

Review - (un)Conventional Bookviews

Bennett is a master at mixing erotica and suspense, and she truly proved that in Sugar Rush! All my feelings were invested, and I swear, Sela almost killed me at times. Both at the beginning and towards the very end, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to hurry up and read or if I needed a break from the emotional rollercoaster. Beck is an awesome character, too, and the way his and Sela’s relationship is getting stronger is so well done. I love that they are able to share everything with each other, even if they don’t always do it anyway.

Fast paced, and filled with suspense surrounding JT, Sugar Rush is a true rush – but it’s not sweet – not at all! It’s dark. It’s dangerous. It’s filled with secrets, and some of those might turn out deadly. And just when things started to look better, there was an incredible twist that just made everything seem different, and nothing can be taken for granted anymore. And I know I’m really vague, but I kind of have to be – because I want you to enjoy this story as much as I did. And to do that, you have to hurry up and pick it up and read it! I have to have someone I can discuss it with!

Written in dual points of views, from Sela’s and Beck’s perspectives, the story shows more depths to the characters and the way they perceive the world around them. I found their ability to trust each other more to be endearing, and it also turned out to be something that was necessary. My heart is still racing, and I just have to start reading Sugar Free right now!

Fave Quotes - (un)Conventional Bookviews

I consciously pull in another lungful of oxygen, realizing that the pain just on the other side of my breastbone is so all consuming it’s taken away my body’s natural ability to want to live. To even pull in the basic necessity of the air I need to survive.
Deep breath in.
Let it out.
In.
Out.
Breathe, Sela. Just fucking breathe.

  1. The way you describe your experience with this book sounds fantastic. I like some of her other books so I’ll have to add this trilogy to the list as well.
