Into the Woods has to be the best anthology I have ever gotten my hands on! I loved reading more about The Hollows cast, in these all new stories where the readers got to see some things that happened behind the scenes in the novels so far in the series. It is an excellent way to get to know Ivy, Jenks and even Trent better. And of course, the writing is awesome as usual, so Into the Woods was a real treat to tide me over until The Undead Pool is released.
You should definitely not read Into the Woods before you have read the first ten book in the series, because some of what happens is not explained in the novels, and it could definitely spoil things if you read it out of order. I am so in love with this whole world, and even if there was very little Rachel in Into the Woods, there was so much about the other characters that I came to enjoy them even more, and that’s also how it will be when I read the next book in the series.
There are only good things on my mind as I think about how to review Into the Woods, and I don’t really know how to share my love without spoiling anything – so I’ll just keep on fangirling for now 🙂 If you enjoy The Hollows, I think this is a must-read. It’s exactly in the same line of story as the whole series is, but the focus is not on Rachel, and I especially appreciated Trent’s story in here 🙂 I am liking him more and more each time he shows up in one of the books!
The stories that are not from The Hollows universe are awesome as well, and I would not be averse to reading more about some of the characters that I had never met before.
The charm wouldn’t work on every ghost – just those unrestful souls.
His lack of ambition didn’t make her eager to jump his jugular, and being coaxed into something by way of her instincts when her thoughts said no left a bad taste in her mouth.
The rich, almost subliminal scent mixed with the sunshine and wind to give a sensation of quiet intensity. I trusted Kisten implicitly to not push his advantage as a vampire, but the potential was heady. Playing with fire, but it felt so good.
Change came hard to pixies when adherence to rigid customs was what kept them alive. But for Jenks, change had always been the curse that kept him going.

Oh, you shouldn’t read Into the Woods before you’ve read all the books already out in the series, because there are some things happening there that explains something from one (or more) of those… did that entice you to read the rest of The Hollows series quickly? 😛

Force one I can say that I read it and I loved it! It’s really rare when I love that much an anthology but this one was really perfect!

Yay! I am not really into anthologies, Lexxie, so I doubt it if this book would appeal to me. And ten books? OMG. That’s a lot. But oh well, if it’s a good series, I wouldn’t mind reading even if the books are already past the number 20.

This series is truly excellent, Charlotte. And I only started reading it this summer, so I had eleven books plus this anthology all lined up for me 🙂 And my goodness, even if I read other books as well, I breezed through The Hollows. You should really, really try it.
Usually, I don’t like anthologies either, so this was a great surprise to me.
And now I’m agonizing over the next book… which will be out next year.
