Review: To Tame a Wild Lady – Ashlyn Macnamara

To Tame a Wild Lady is Caro’s story, she doesn’t fit within the strict rules of society, and would rather ride her horse than gossip with the ladies. (un)conventionally short: Caro and Adrian weren’t supposed to even meet. Needless to say, they were definitely not supposed to fall in love. To Tame A Wild Lady told a different story, though, and it was delightful! Second in the Duke Defying Daughters series, this story made my toes curl in pleasure. I so love an unconventional lady. Especially when she doesn’t care what society thinks, and just goes after what she wants. And desperately needs. Macnamara managed to make me feel connected to the characters in To Tame a Wild Lady. And […]

Review: Destined for a King – Ashlyn Macnamara

Review: Destined for a King – Ashlyn Macnamara

Destined for a King is the story of two very strong characters, a world in which the king is the ultimate ruler, and where there is no room for mistakes… Destined for a King is set in a fantasy world, that has a little bit of a medieval feel to it. There is magic, and there is a war on the horizon. This war is brought literally into Calista’s front yard, when Torch and his Bastard Brotherhood take the fort under siege. Torch is badly hurt, though, and Calista has to nurse him back to health, or her father will not only stay in prison, but be executed. Torch doesn’t really care that Calista has been promised to the king, […]

Review: To Lure a Proper Lady – Ashlyn Macnamara

Review: To Lure a Proper Lady – Ashlyn Macnamara

To Lure a Proper Lady is a quick, humorous and sexy read – I loved Lizzie, she was definitely a proper lady in many ways, but quite forward in others… To Lure a Proper Lady is an amazing mix of family obligations, mystery and forbidden romance, with a main character who is much stronger than she thinks. When Lizzie thinks someone is trying to poison her father, the Duke, she goes on her own to Bow Street to hire a runner, and ends up with Dysart coming to the ducal seat for a fortnight to investigate during a house-party. They are both smart, but there are too many possibilities to follow, plus the attraction they feel for each other is […]

Review: What a Lady Requires – Ashlyn MacNamara

Review: What a Lady Requires – Ashlyn MacNamara

What a Lady Requires is a great ending to the Eton Boys Trilogy, and I especially enjoyed Emma with her knowledge for numbers, even if she was not so good at mingling in society. My What a Lady Requires review: While I thought What a Lady Requires is a good ending to the Eton Boys Trilogy, it didn’t sweep me off my feet like it could have. The pacing was very slow, and while I enjoyed both Emma and Rowan, they were a little more reserved than the characters in the first two stories. I loved that Emma had such a head for business, though, and that she was able to share this with her husband, even if he was […]

Review: What a Lady Demands – Ashlyn MacNamara

Review: What a Lady Demands – Ashlyn MacNamara

What a Lady Demands is an amazing Historical Romance story, because Cecelia Standford is such an unconventional heroine – and that makes everything that happens even better. My What a Lady Demands review: If you are familiar with my blog, you know that I love reading Historical Romances, but that I kind of loathe reading about virgins… Kind of like an oxymoron, right? Apart from the fact that What a Lady Demands fulfilled my desires – beautiful historical romance story, with a very strong heroine, who is scandalously not a virgin. She’s twenty-three years old, and she knows her way around a male body for sure. Of course, just the fact that the heroine isn’t a virgin isn’t enough for […]

Giveaway and Blogtour Review: What a Lady Craves – Ashlyn MacNamara

*I received a free ARC of What a Lady Craves from Loveswept via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* Welcome to my stop on Loveswept’s What a Lady Craves Blogtour. I have my review to share with you, as well as an excerpt and a tour-wide giveaway. My What a Lady Craves review: Henrietta is the kind of heroine I really love reading about in historical romance novels, and in What a Lady Craves, she is working hard to maintain her façade, especially when her ex-fiancée shows up unexpectedly – hurt, wet and almost drowned. At first, she decides she has to leave her employment as Lady Epperley’s paid companion. She quickly finds herself involved with helping Alexander, though, and […]

Review: A Most Scandalous Proposal – Ashlyn Macnamara

Review: A Most Scandalous Proposal – Ashlyn Macnamara

*I received a free ARC of this book from Random House Publishing via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* A Most Scandalous Proposal is a debut novel, and it is quite well done! I loved that Julia is a strong woman, even while dealing with the ton and everything that women have to be careful about while navigating society. Sophia starts out like the typical woman in a historical romance novel, always trying to follow the rules, while being in love with the ton’s golden boy, and not knowing what to do about it – because in order to be a proper young lady, there really isn’t much she can do, now, is there? Julia has decided that love […]
