Shakespeare’s Landlord is a cozy mystery in a small, sleepy town, where Lily Bard ends up doing just as much detecting as she does cleaning. My Shakespeare’s Landlord review: Lily Bard started off as a pretty mysterious character, doing her martial arts training, cleaning people’s houses, and incidentally seeing something suspicious involving her own garbage cart which led her to finding a dead body. Instead of calling the police straight away, she made sure anything that would put her in the spotlight as a suspect would not be found, but then she called the chief for the body to be found before morning. Dead Ever After is the last book in the Sookie Stackhouse series, and the ending was quite logical – and most characters from past books showed up in Bon Temps to help Sookie with some problems she had, and at the same time, it also felt like they had come to say goodbye to the readers. This made Dead Ever After feel like goodbye as well – even if there was a lot of stuff happening that had something to do with what had happened in prior books. Sookie once more found herself in the middle of an intriguing mystery, and at the same time, she had to deal with Sam’s withdrawal after she had brought him back to life. […]
