Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Pierced ~ J.A. Huss & Johnathan McClain #2018NewRelease

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Pierced ~ J.A. Huss & Johnathan McClain #2018NewRelease

To say I was anxious for Pierced, Pierce and Myrtle’s story, would be an understatement. I wanted to know more about them both but mostly I wanted to watch and laugh as Pierce tried to dig himself out of the mess he’d created with Myrtle. And while he definitely buried himself deeper before he managed to dig himself out, I rather enjoyed the process and seeing Myrtle get Pierced. 😉 LOL, Pierce made me laugh so hard. Especially with the way he tried to apologize, and ehem, ‘lower’ himself so that he’d have another chance with Myrtle. And I loved how their friends knew better than them what was going on with their relationship 😀  Pierce. Wow. I kept asking […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ The Triangle ~ J.A. Huss & Johnathan McClain

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ The Triangle ~ J.A. Huss & Johnathan McClain

It seems as thought Huss has pulled McClain over to the “dark side” as it were. 😉 This collaboration is more of what I’d come to expect from Huss but with that little more “oomph” from McClain. I loved it. It’s dark, twisty, sexy, action-packed, and leaves you (or at least me) thinking, “Wow. Um, what?!?” It made me think. A lot. Think not only about what was going on – and I’m not certain I ever figured it all out – but also about whether or not we ever really know someone…and do we really know ourselves? I CANNOT WAIT FOR BOOK TWO!! There was so much going on – between the mystery, the suspense, the criminal activity, the […]

#Review: Passion Rising – J.A. Huss and Johnathan McClain

#Review: Passion Rising – J.A. Huss and Johnathan McClain

Passion Rising ends the Original Sin series with a bang! And I felt like I got to know the main characters so much better here. Story: For a while in the beginning of Passion Rising, things were going slow – the aftermath of Flesh Into Fire could still be felt. However, Maddie and Tyler finally had room and time to breathe. To slow down. To get to know each other better. They were also able to heal – both physically and emotionally – which is something they both needed. Seeing Maddie and Tyler doing more ‘normal’ stuff made me love them more. And it also helped me get to know them much better. Passion Rising had a lot of passion, […]

Review: Flesh Into Fire – J.A. Huss and Johnathan McClain

Review: Flesh Into Fire – J.A. Huss and Johnathan McClain

Flesh Into Fire brought Maddie back into more danger than Tyler could take – which made things extremely difficult for both of them! Story: Flesh Into Fire is the third installment in power-duo Huss McClain’s Original Sin series, and I was sadly not fully satisfied with this story. Some parts felt a bit rushed to me, and the overall story didn’t move forward as much as I would have liked. The character development is rather slow as well. Tyler has evolved quite a bit, but he still needs work. And Maddie is still almost the same as she was in the first book. I had a bit of trouble pinpointing why I wasn’t as excited about Flesh Into Fire as […]

Review: The Pleasure of Panic – J.A. Huss

Review: The Pleasure of Panic – J.A. Huss

The Pleasure of Panic was a wild, twisted ride in which it was close to impossible to figure out what was real and what was not! Story: At the beginning of The Pleasure of Panic, I got so incredibly angry at Jordan on Issy’s behalf! He really acted like an arse, because she didn’t really want to play the game with him. But when she finally dared to tell him what she might want – if she decided to play – he told her that wouldn’t do, and that there would be no game for her. From there on, The Pleasure of Panic was an incredibly fast-paced, action-filled adventure. And I have to say that trust is what was the […]

Review: Angels Fall – J.A. Huss and Johnathan McClain

Review: Angels Fall – J.A. Huss and Johnathan McClain

Angels Fall didn’t captivate me the same way Sin With Me did. I felt quite detached from the characters, even if the writing was really good. Story: Angels Fall follows the action straight after Sin With Me. And I kind of feel like not much happened – even if it did. At the beginning of the story, Maddie was not where she wanted to be, but she had a plan about how to extricate herself. At least for the short term. Tyler was very much the same, even if Angels Fall, he was a bit more reasonable. He thought about other people than himself. He figured out that there were, indeed, people who cared about him. And he didn’t stop […]

Review: Sin With Me – J.A. Huss and Johnathan McClain

Review: Sin With Me – J.A. Huss and Johnathan McClain

Sin With Me is dark, twisted, hot, sinful and fast-paced. Following Maddie and Tyler, each in their own chapters, the story is well done, and filled with both danger and hope. Story: Sin With Me is set in Las Vegas, and follows a young woman, who is a stripper – but not by choice. The other main character, Tyler, is suffering from PTSD, but trying his best to stay afloat. By numbing all his senses. By trying to stay awake so his dreams won’t take him back to places he has no want to revisit. This doesn’t work too well for him, and thanks to a very good friend, he is not able to stay solely in his head. Both […]

Review: Total Exposure – JA Huss

Review: Total Exposure – JA Huss

Total Exposure takes mind-games to another level. Huss is a master at mind-games in her books, but here, she upped the ante times n. And I just couldn’t stop reading. Flipping the pages. Wanting to know how Evangeline would react. What Ixion would do next. How this could ever end well. Story: I’m not even sure how to put Total Exposure into a genre, it is romance, for sure. But it is also has a bit of suspense – just not the usual kind. There is no lurking danger, there are no crimes, but still – between Ixion and Evangeline, there is some kind of mystery anyway. Total Exposure is set in the same universe as Huss’ The Turning series, […]

Review: Mr. and Mrs. – JA Huss

Review: Mr. and Mrs. – JA Huss

Mr. and Mrs. is the perfect ending to the Mister series, it was fun, a little mysterious and a lot romantic. I got to see my favorite Five in his element. Story: First of all, if you have not read the whole Mister series, plus Five, you should not continue reading this review, as there will be spoilers for prior books in here. Mr. and Mrs. happened on Five’s private island, and all the misters showed up for a group wedding. We got to know what Five and Rory have been up to since the ending of Five, and I loved seeing them happy with their four daughters. They were princesses in their own right, and I had so much […]

Review: Five – J.A. Huss

Review: Five – J.A. Huss

Five blew my mind. It’s a story I’ve been waiting for since forever, and Huss definitely didn’t disappoint. Story: Princess Shrike was all ready to move on with her life. With no news from five in the past six years, she figured she should just do her thing. Date. Make new friends. Vacation in the Hamptons. Until her brother Ollie sends her a message saying she has to come home. Because Five is home. There was a lot of intrigue in Five. And a lot of heartache. And quite a bit of sadness. Of course, I also got Huss’ spectacular snark. And her hotness. Plus love – Five was also filled with beautiful love. Of course, there are also secret […]
