★★★★★ Review: I’m Your Guy – Sarina Bowen

I’m Your Guy is the perfect autumn romance, there’s hockey, there’s a whole lot of anguish, and there’s definitely romance galore! I fell in love with both Tommaso and Carter as soon as I met them at the very beginning of I’m Your Guy. Tommaso because he was that grouchy, serious-looking hot hockey guy who just needed a little TLC. And Carter because even if his life had just been turned upside down, he was totally faking it till he was making it. And because their first look was sizzling. Of course, Tommaso was so far into the closet that even he wasn’t 100% sure he liked guys. Apart from the fact that he felt some fierce feelings for Carter. […]

ARC Review: Shenanigans – Sarina Bowen

ARC Review: Shenanigans – Sarina Bowen

Shenanigans has all the ingredients I love in a good romance! Humor, friendship, hockey, hotness and a dash of side characters to hate on. To say I loved Shenanigans is a huge understatement! Neil and Charli were such great characters to get to know. From their accidental Vegas wedding to everything they did to not only stay married, but try to work it out as a business thing rather than anything real with feelings involved. Between the friendships in both of their hockey teams, and the way they had to fight their families to get to the finish line – it all just made so much sense to me. I really loathed Neil’s uncle, because his shenanigans were just mean-spirited […]

Review: Lies and Lullabies – Sarina Bowen

Review: Lies and Lullabies – Sarina Bowen

Bowen totally did it again! Lies and Lullabies is a fantastic story – where there is a meet cute at first, and then, a few years later a possibility of a second chance. When Jonas and Kira first met in Lies and Lullabies, they formed a nice friendship that felt safe for both of them. They both tried to ignore the strong attraction and the hot chemistry between them, and it worked. Mostly. However, on Jonas’ last night there, Kira managed to persuade him to let her have her way with him. And what a glorious way it was! Lies and Lullabies is much more than a romance, though, because there is so much hurt in both Jonas’ and Kira’s […]

Review: Heartland – Sarina Bowen

Review: Heartland – Sarina Bowen

Heartland pulled at my heartstrings – the friends to lovers trope, the slow burn, and the amazing chemistry made my heart both gooey and achy! Bowen always manages to write stories that bring out all the feels, and Heartland is no exception to that! Chastity was so innocent in many ways – as she had been free from the religious cult she was born into for only two years. In other ways, though, she was both strong and independent. Plus she was definitely motivated to make a good life for herself. The fact that she was in love with Dylan didn’t just complicate her life though, it also made it better in many ways. Heartland is a story with two […]

Review: Overnight Sensation – Sarina Bowen

Review: Overnight Sensation – Sarina Bowen

Overnight Sensation is a fantastic story, about love, loss, and taking responsibility – the characters are very relatable, and I fell in love! Bowen truly did it again with Overnight Sensation! She made me lose a little sleep – because I just had to keep on reading. Her knowledge about hockey, and what happens behind the scenes just made this story even better! Everything that has to be done in and around the rink for both games and practice. All the people who have to work to make it all happen. The way players have to deal with nosy reporters, bloggers, and fans. And how difficult it can be to just stay true to oneself when everyone appears to be […]

Review: The Accidentals – Sarina Bowen

Review: The Accidentals – Sarina Bowen

The Accidentals had everything I love in a romance. There was heartache, there was happiness, there were awkward reunions, and sharp humor. Plus, there was a whole lot of music! Story: The Accidentals is a masterpiece of feelings. It was also a different kind of romance, because the main story wasn’t about the romance – it was about family and loss. And it was also about finding what had seemed lost forever. Plus, the music made me swoon… Because music was a very important part of The Accidentals, and it added more layers to both the characters and the story itself. Rachel had been to hell and back, and living in a group home was not her idea of being […]

Review: Man Hands – Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby

Man Hands brought me from laughing out loud to all hot and bothered in a New York second! (un)Conventionally Quick: Man Hands is a hilarious tale of two jilted people who find each other in a completely unexpected way. It’s a erotic rom-com (yeah, not sure that genre exists, but it sure does fit!) that made me laugh out loud, while feeling all hot and bothered at the same time. I loved both Brynn and Tom. They were hilarious in their own way, and together, they became dynamite! The friendship between Brynn and her best friends made me miss my own friends who don’t live close by. And the inner musings Tom had made me bark with laughter. I just […]

Review: Hello Forever – Sarina Bowen

Review: Hello Forever – Sarina Bowen

Hello Forever had everything I enjoy in a romance, a strong relationship between the protagonists – even when they thought they couldn’t be together. Story: After Axel and Cax got caught making out in the woods at youth camp, Cax just disappeared. Axel still thought of him, and at least his mom was there for him in every way she could be. Six years later, when Axel is offered a job, he decides to say ‘yes’ after seeing Cax in the stands of a basket ball game. There is a lot of love and hope in Hello Forever. At the same time, there is a lot of bigotry and hate, too. The characters move the story forward, and it took […]

Review: Rookie Move – Sarina Bowen

Review: Rookie Move – Sarina Bowen

Rookie Move was a sweet and hot contemporary hockey romance! I really enjoyed that Bowen understood the game and everything that can surround a hockey team. Story: Brooklyn Bruisers is a fairly new hockey club, and the club’s PR person, Georgia, has to deal with both her father and her ex coming to work for the club. Her father as the new coach, her ex as a new player. There is a lot of history here, and that made for a sweet second-chance-at-love story. Characters: Both the main characters, Georgia and Leo, and the secondary characters, Becca, Ari, O’Doul, and Castro, just to name a few were well fleshed out, and I got to know them fairly well. Writing style […]
