Review: Spectacle – Rachel Vincent

Review: Spectacle – Rachel Vincent

Spectacle was a dark, yet beautiful story. Where the cryptids were taken from relative freedom to a prison more horrible than even their worst nightmares could conjure. Spectacle was even darker than Menagerie, because Delilah and her companions had managed to live for a while in relative freedom only to be caught by someone far worse than Metzger. At first, Gallagher is taken to a human prison, but this only makes Delilah’s anxiety worse, as she hasn’t had any news from him since she and some of the other female cryptids from the menagerie were taken to their new dormitory. I felt every anxious and fearful feeling Delilah and the others felt, and I have to admit that during Spectacle, my […]

Review: Lord of Chance – Erica Ridley

Review: Lord of Chance – Erica Ridley

Lord of Chance is a fantastic start to Ridley’s new historical romance series. I loved both Charlotte and Anthony, their vulnerabilities were so well hidden they hardly even noticed them anymore themselves. Lord of Chance showed the backside of the ton, of how it was to try to live up to the ideals of people who could change their mind on a whim. Anthony had fled London for Scotland to escape his creditors. An inveterate card-player, he owed much more than he could win back in time to escape jail. Charlotte was looking for an elusive laird, the one who had left his mother behind before he knew she was with child. And which has let Charlotte’s mother make ends […]

Review: Silver Silence – Nalini Singh

Review: Silver Silence – Nalini Singh

Silver Silence has all the things I love about the Psy-Changeling series – a strong female lead, mystery and suspense, all the feels and hotness Silver fucking Merchant totally got to me in Silver Silence! And she sure got to a certain bear as well. Every single feel there is was invested in Valentin’s and Silver’s story, and I  loved how the overall story-arch and plot moved forward. If you’ve visited me before, you know I’m a huge Nalini Singh fan, and that was definitely cemented with Silver Silence. All the awesomeness. Silver was a character I had met several times in the prior Psy-Changeling books, as she was Kaleb’s assistant. She always seemed to be so distant and cold […]

Blogtour Review: Sex in the Sticks – Sawyer Bennett

Blogtour Review: Sex in the Sticks – Sawyer Bennett

Welcome to my stop on the Blogtour for Sex in the Sticks! Sex in the Sticks is funny, very hot and with cute characters. There were several hilarious moments in Sex in the Sticks, and there were even more extremely hot moments… I found the overall story to be cute, albeit a little bit cliché with the woman from the big city going to the Alaska wilderness to find a man who wasn’t metrosexual with a better manucure than her. Valentine and her blog made me laugh out loud more than once, especially because she had partly started her sex-blog to shock her family. Sex in the Sticks started out a bit tentative, as Val left her big city behind, […]

Review: Rock F*ck Club – Michelle Mankin

Review: Rock F*ck Club – Michelle Mankin

Rock F*ck Club is a hot little number, where a woman takes back control and goes on a quest of rock stars to take back power and control. Rock F*ck Club started with Raven seeing something that can’t be unseen – her rockstar boyfriend with another girl. Totally doing it, and then asking her to join in so as to not be a bore. At first, she was devastated, but then she decided that she really should live things up and be less boring. But only on her own terms, not someone else’s. Strong, empowered women are often seen as bullies, sluts, ‘manly’, noisy… Rock F*ck Club managed to take the slut part out of the equation, even as Raven […]

Audio Review: Starflight – Melissa Landers

Audio Review: Starflight – Melissa Landers

Starflight was a fast-paced and action filled space adventure with great characters and a fantastic storyline! Starflight was such an exciting, fast-paced space adventure I’m kicking myself for not listening to it sooner! The characters were all complex, and the overall storyline amazing. Fights, more than one climax, plus all the feels – I just fell completely for this one. The complexity of the storyline and the well fleshed out characters were the main reason I loved the story. I was amazed at how one of the characters started out as an antagonist – whom I detested! – and then, little by little, the character changed and became one of the protagonists and I cheered them on. The action is […]

Review: Legion – Julie Kagawa

Review: Legion – Julie Kagawa

Legion brought my favorite dragons and their struggles to a complete new level of epicness! The action and the final fight at the end gave me heart palpitations! Because of the way Soldier ended, I knew there would be some heartache in Legion, but I had no idea just how much! Ember, however, stepped up and took on all the responsibility she could – while staying true to herself and her beliefs. The plan Talon was putting into action was chilling to say the least, and I really didn’t think things would end well. Main feel was probably fear! After being captured by Talon, Ember learned that her own fate was supposed to be much bleaker than anything she could […]

Review: Jordan Reclaimed – Scarlett Cole

Review: Jordan Reclaimed – Scarlett Cole

Jordan Reclaimed was a tough and gritty read, with a horrific childhood, it’s a miracle Jordan managed to function at all – and when he met his ballet dancer, he started to be much more than the man who just went through the motions Jordan Reclaimed is set in the same universe as the Second Circle Tattoo series, and I had met Jordan before, even if he was mostly in the background. Jordan – as all the other guys in the band – had horrible childhoods, and it’s really quite amazing that they can function at all! One thing a lot of other bloggers know about me is that I love music! And I also have a soft spot for […]

Review: On Second Thought – Kristan Higgins

Review: On Second Thought – Kristan Higgins

On Second Thought is one of the most tender and hopeful stories I have read. It’s character-driven by women of incredible strength. Ainsley and Kate become close as sisters after they both ended up single once more, and On Second Thought follows them both in the aftermath of the shock they received. Kate tragically and unexpectedly became a widow after only four months of marriage. And soon after, Ainsley’s live-in boyfriend of eleven years left her start over and find himself again. I just felt so much tenderness while I read their story, and I loved being inside their head, understanding their vulnerabilities and their wants and needs. Kate had gotten over searching for a husband at thirty-eight years old, […]

Review: Abduction – Cynthia Eden

Review: Abduction – Cynthia Eden

Abduction is a tight suspense thriller with romance and a mysterious stalker, where Jill and Hayden just want to start over again, but so does the abductor. The suspense part of Abduction was really well done, because little by little, we learned about how Jill was abducted as a child, and Hayden saved her… This has been haunting both of them ever since, Jill so much so that she started working for the FBI finding missing children. Hayden had been seen as the main thug in Hope until he saved Jill that day, and it changed his life. But he still let her go once they were adults, as he didn’t think he was good enough for her. I think […]
