Audio Review ~ Untouchable ~ Kresley Cole

Audio Review ~ Untouchable ~ Kresley Cole

Untouchable revolved around characters – Murdoch and Daniela – that I didn’t know much about. I certainly felt for them considering the hurdles their relationship presented. While I enjoyed the story, it wasn’t my favorite in the series. Highlights Characters Murdoch Wroth, previously known for his playboy ways, had a kink thrown into his sex life when he became a vampire. When he’s blooded by his bride, Daniela, his situation doesn’t improve. That’s because Daniela, being a Valkyrie/Icere fae, can’t be touched. Murdoch thinks this won’t be a problem – he’ll simply return to his playboy ways. But as he and Daniela spend time together he realizes that once you find your bride, no one else will do. My issue […]

Review: The Summer Deal – Jill Shalvis

Review: The Summer Deal – Jill Shalvis

The Summer Deal is a beautifully written romance where regret is one of the themes, and forgiveness is another one. The Summer Deal showed me once more why I’m such a fan of Shalvis’ writing! The characters made the story here, and the way they all had their difficulties to deal with made them very realistic. From the outside, other people’s lives can seem so simple and put together, but once we get a peek behind the scenes, we realize that’s not the case at all. Brynn had a good childhood in many ways, however, she had hidden certain things from her mothers in order to protect them. Never letting them know how difficult camp was, or how some kids […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ After the Climb ~ Kristen Ashley

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ After the Climb ~ Kristen Ashley

You know my feelings about second chance romance, wifey, so I’m sure it’s not a surprise that I adored After the Climb. But, then, it’s KA and she had a little help from friends 😉 in writing this one. Oh! And that it released on my birthday? Sweet!! Hmm… are you one of the friends who helped out with this one?  And you know I love second chance romance at least as much as you do! Plus, KA always makes all the feels come out 🙂    Okay, so that beginning was a doozy! I don’t know if I’ve ever disliked, dare I say hated, a character as much as I do Corey. I can’t imagine the myriad emotions that […]

Review: Wicked Secret – Sawyer Bennett

Review: Wicked Secret – Sawyer Bennett

Wicked Secret is part of my favorite sub-genre – it’s erotic suspense, and both the hotness and the tense parts were so well done! As always, Bennett totally made my day with her story! Wicked Secret is part of the Wicked Horse series, and it also ties in with her Jameson Force Security series. This story can still be read as a stand alone, though. And I have to say few people can write an erotica with so much character development, Bennett is one of them, and I love her for it! Wicked Secret is both a second chance at love, and almost an enemies to lovers story. August is extremely angry with Leighton, and it takes him quite a […]

Review : Queen Move – Kennedy Ryan

Review : Queen Move – Kennedy Ryan

Queen Move was yet another masterpiece by Ms. Ryan – compelling characters, a beautiful love story, and important issues handled beautifully! Queen Move was so good I feel like I should just tell everyone to pick it up on release day. I guess a real review needs a bit more than that, though, so I’ll give it to you – with as little squeeing and gushing as possible 😉 First of all, I already met Kimba in the Kingmaker series, and I loved her there. Learning more about her in Queen Move made me love her even more. She’s a multi faceted character, and while her career has been the most important part of her life for ages, she has […]

Review: The Girl Next Door – Chelsea M. Cameron

Review: The Girl Next Door – Chelsea M. Cameron

The Girl Next Door is a beautifully written romance, in which the two women are more than a little hesitant at first. I haven’t read many f/f romances, and I’m really happy I got my hands on The Girl Next Door! As with all of Ms. Cameron’s novels, the characters hold the story and keeps it moving forward. Both Iris and Jude were great characters. They had emotionally suffered in the past, and were a little careful with their heart, but there was still a lot of hope in the novel. The Girl Next Door starts with Iris moving back home after some trouble, and losing her job. She never wanted to come back to her little town in Maine […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Tempt Me ~ Nina West

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Tempt Me ~ Nina West

I don’t know what exactly it was about Tempt Me that tempted me, wifey, but I was riveted. Maybe it was the way NWest brought these characters to life. I laughed, gasped, swooned…and I might have panted. 😉 LOL LOL there was definitely some panting going on. And I was so very curious about this whole series, as people either loved it or completely hated it! I know there was a point early on where we were both a little worried we weren’t going to like Abbi. She couldn’t seem to make up her mind and that made her appear weak. The more I got to know her though, the more I identified with her. She was young and really […]

Review: Rafe – Sawyer Bennett

Review: Rafe – Sawyer Bennett

Rafe and Calliope were amazing! They had history, and now, a second chance at love. However, with that second chance came a lot of turmoil, too. Mostly because Rafe’s reason for coming home was to be with his dying father. Rafe was a great addition to my two favorite hockey series! He had the worst reason ever to go back home, but luckily for him, there weren’t only bad things waiting for him. I loved Calliope, and how understanding she was, especially towards Rafe’s parents. I also really enjoyed how she made Rafe work for her time. Because she deserved only the best, and that’s not what he had given her in the past. Rafe can be read as a […]

Buddy Read Chat Review w/ @BerlsS ~ Mine to Hold ~ Cynthia Eden

Buddy Read Chat Review w/ @BerlsS ~ Mine to Hold ~ Cynthia Eden

After meeting Noah in the 2 previous installments, I was more than anxious to get his story in Mine to Hold. CEden had set up Noah’s love interest and I figured Claire was going to be a hard nut to crack. I was keen to watch Noah take a chance, to get to know both he and Claire better, and I was curious about the kind of danger Claire would find herself in. CEden didn’t disappoint. As much as I like Noah, Claire was the one I was excited to get to know better. She was so spunky in the last book and had been hit with so much tragedy! And the sparks between them were undeniable, so I was […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Nowhere But Here ~ Katie McGarry

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Nowhere But Here ~ Katie McGarry

Wow! Just wow! Every time I read Katie McGarry I kick myself for not reading her more often. With Nowhere But Here , I’m doing it again. She delivered a riveting, angsty, romantic, and suspenseful story with a cast FULL of characters I now love. I look forward to continuing the series! I so agree, Brandee! I don’t think I’ve read any McGarry since RT in Atlanta, and that’s a long time ago. I absolutely loved Nowhere But Here. For all the reasons you mentioned.    I was immediately drawn in to this story! Between being instantly smitten with Emily and Oz and needing to have all the secrecy around Emily explained, I was loathe to put this one down. I was […]
