Sapphire Flames brings all the magic, the fights, the intrigue, the romance, and the tension I have gotten used to with the Hidden Legacy series! While I would have loved more Nevada and Rogan, I have to say Sapphire Flames still blew me away. Catalina is definitely a worthy heroine, and I loved how she wanted to take care of things herself. Night Reigns was equally as gripping and action-packed as its predecessor. Not only did I get Marcus’ and Ami’s story, but Duvall also delivered a few more pieces to the overall puzzle. I think I might have enjoyed Big Dicker even more, wifey Jimmy is a hoot! And Delphi is a good match for him. 😉 I definitely enjoyed this one more. So funny, and I loved how nobody manages to pronounce his name correctly. It makes me giggle every single time! First, I just want to say that I thought it was awesome Xyla was getting a girl’s vacay! I admire the fact that Jimmy and his brothers see the bots as “people” who have rights and deserve respect. Polaris Rising is an incredibly impressive debut. Space opera isn’t a genre I read much of but this book was un-put-downable! The world building was excellent, the character development was awesome, the plot, sub-plots, and what I assume will be the over-arching story plot created such an entertaining read. In When the Gods Forget, my questions from the previous book weren’t really answered. In fact, I came away with even more questions. However, the story was just as action-packed and emotional as its predecessor. Highlights: Characters Teagan is brave, reckless, tenacious, strong, and loyal. I adored her even more in When the Gods Forget because she’s a survivor. She’s endured so much and yet she never gives up. Darkhouse has been hanging around gathering dust for awhile. When my younger daughter gave it a listen, loved it, and promptly blew through the first 3 books in the Experiment in Terror series, I decided it was time I give it a listen! Highlights: Characters Perry seems like your typical 20-something, working at a job she doesn’t enjoy while trying to figure out where her life goes from here. She’s had an interesting life thus far – KHalle doles out facts throughout such as drug-use, mental health issues, weight issues – all of which have impacted who Perry is right now.
