Review: Praying For Rain – BB Easton

Review: Praying For Rain – BB Easton

Praying For Rain was very intense. And it sure doesn’t fit into a neat little genre box, either. I was stuck with my kindle, not even able to go for a bathroom break while reading. Story and Characters: I’m not sure how BB Easton pulled off Praying for Rain, but she sure did! This apocalyptic, New Adult kind of romance, but not blew my mind. So different from her other books, I was awed from start to finish. Rain and Wes had been dealt a pretty shitty hand – Wes since he was born, Rain at least for the past year. And with the apocalypse approaching on fast hooves, not much for them to do to stay alive. In a […]

#ARC #Review: The Takeover Effect – Nisha Sharma

#ARC #Review: The Takeover Effect – Nisha Sharma

The Takeover Effect was an excellent story on absolutely every level! A boardroom thriller / romance, it kept me riveted from start to finish. Add in a very strong and intelligent female lawyer, and a strong-minded, honest oldest son in charge of his own company coming back to save the family, and you have a recipe for greatness! Story: The Takeover Effect included some very strong, charismatic and career-oriented characters who made me swoon! I loved the excitement of the underlying threat of a hostile takeover, and I also loved how the Singh family came together to save their father’s company, pride and hard work. The characters were all well fleshed out, and they had very distinct personalities – this […]

Review: The Risk – Elle Kennedy

Review: The Risk – Elle Kennedy

The Risk was delicious! Reluctant romance is just so sweet – because the buildup makes everything so good. I loved Brenna and Jake – they just kind of clicked. Even if Brenna didn’t want to click with him. At all. I can’t even begin to say how happy I was when I learned that The Risk was going to be Brenna’s and Jake’s story! Especially because they were going to ‘enemy’ schools when it came to ice hockey. With Jake being Harvard’s star player, and Brenna coach Jensen of Briar’s daughter, I just knew there would be some secrecy and slight drama. And it was so delicious! Brenna had this dream of being a sports commentator, and had applied for […]

Review: Slow Ride – Lori Foster

Review: Slow Ride – Lori Foster

Slow Ride was a very nice slow romance, and I really appreciated that. Both because Ronnie had been through so much she didn’t believe in love anymore, and because Jack was so patient. He just knew waiting was going to be worth it! Story: Ronnie was the kind of heroine that knows what she wants, and she usually goes after it with no qualms. She also knows well what she doesn’t want – and she was sure she didn’t want Jack once she realized she’d see him more than just for one night. Slow Ride started with a chance meeting, then went on to have Ronnie and Jack working together. There was danger in Slow Ride, a mysterious man following […]

Bloggerwife Chat Review: The Square – J.A. Huss and Johnathan McClain

Bloggerwife Chat Review: The Square – J.A. Huss and Johnathan McClain

The Square kind of blew me away! I can’t wait to chat with Brandee about it – because there was just so much that happened and I have no idea what can even happen next. What a ride The Square was, right, Brandee? I have no idea how Huss and McClain manage to keep the suspense like they do – and how they are able to keep me guessing through the twists and turns. Did you guess anything during this story? I know I didn’t! It really was quite the ride, Lex! The Square wasn’t as action-packed as The Triangle and yet the suspense kept me glued to my kindle and had me biting my nails. Oh the twists and […]

Review: Free – Kristen Ashley

Review: Free – Kristen Ashley

Oh my goodness! I just love me some Chaos, and I have to say that Rush and Rebel’s story got to me in every way. These alpha MC men, with their wild, intelligent, and fun women always get to me – but I just adored Free! Free is the last installment in the Chaos series, and it was sad to see some of my favorite characters ever for the last time. It was also a great story, though, so I was completely satisfied when I came to the end. Rush and Rebel were made for each other! She was a strong woman, and she was able to hold her own – both with Rush and with other men. Rush is […]

Review: Overnight Sensation – Sarina Bowen

Review: Overnight Sensation – Sarina Bowen

Overnight Sensation is a fantastic story, about love, loss, and taking responsibility – the characters are very relatable, and I fell in love! Bowen truly did it again with Overnight Sensation! She made me lose a little sleep – because I just had to keep on reading. Her knowledge about hockey, and what happens behind the scenes just made this story even better! Everything that has to be done in and around the rink for both games and practice. All the people who have to work to make it all happen. The way players have to deal with nosy reporters, bloggers, and fans. And how difficult it can be to just stay true to oneself when everyone appears to be […]

Review: Playing for Keeps – Jill Shalvis

Review: Playing for Keeps – Jill Shalvis

Playing for Keeps just might be my favorite Heartbreaker Bay story! I loved Sadie and Caleb so much. And Lollipop was the best rescue puppy ever! Playing for Keeps just worked so very well for me! Sadie and Caleb both wanted nothing to do with a relationship. And they kind of worked the best using sarcasm towards each other. Until that evening when Caleb found an abandoned, three legged dog in the courtyard. And they somehow ended up co-adopting her. Caleb had been a bit of a mystery up until now, as he was a little on the outskirt of the friend group. In Playing for Keeps, however, he showed just what kind of a man he was. He’s a […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review: Good Time – Jana Aston

Blogger Wife Chat Review: Good Time – Jana Aston

Good Time was hilarious, don’t you think, Wifey? I was reading on the train back from Zurich this weekend, and I not only laughed out loud, I also snorted. Loudly. So that not only my daughter turned her head to look at me – other people on the train did as well. Payton was so funny – and she didn’t even mean to be, what did you think of her? Omigosh was Good Time hilarious!! I also giggle-snorted and I had to read parts aloud to Hubs because my reactions made him curious. Payton was funny without ever meaning to be. Being in her head, listening to her justify her actions to herself…I don’t know how anyone could NOT love […]

Review: The Accidentals – Sarina Bowen

Review: The Accidentals – Sarina Bowen

The Accidentals had everything I love in a romance. There was heartache, there was happiness, there were awkward reunions, and sharp humor. Plus, there was a whole lot of music! Story: The Accidentals is a masterpiece of feelings. It was also a different kind of romance, because the main story wasn’t about the romance – it was about family and loss. And it was also about finding what had seemed lost forever. Plus, the music made me swoon… Because music was a very important part of The Accidentals, and it added more layers to both the characters and the story itself. Rachel had been to hell and back, and living in a group home was not her idea of being […]
