Review: Holiday Wishes – Jill Shalvis

Review: Holiday Wishes – Jill Shalvis

Holiday Wishes was a sweet, tender novella in one of my favorite Shalvis series, and I loved to see this more mature side of Sean. Story: While Holiday Wishes is a quite short story, the feel of the Heartbreaker Bay gang is very much present. The group of friends and family are away for a weekend of bachelor and bachelorette party for Pru and Finn. All organized by Sean, to the amazement of everyone. He has planned everything down to the smallest detail. Apart from the fact that his very first girlfriend, the one he let get away, is the innkeeper. The easy banter between the characters, as well as their strong ties always makes Heartbreaker Bay the place to […]

Review: Without Merit – Colleen Hoover

Review: Without Merit – Colleen Hoover

Without Merit brought out all the feels, and it also explained the DYS when it comes to dysfunctional families and relationships. I loved every word! Story: Merit, the main character, is fairly self-absorbed, and still, I really loved her. Growing up in a household with three children with less than a year between them (total). And an identical twin sister whom she doesn’t really get along with, Merit lives inside her own head quite a bit. Between the resentment she feels towards her family, and the weirdness she feels about school, she throws herself a curve-ball and then tries to just go with it. There is a lot going on in Without Merit, and most of it has to do […]

Review: Sure Thing – Jana Aston

Review: Sure Thing – Jana Aston

Sure Thing made me laugh out loud more than once, and it also made me swoon. The mix of humour and steaminess was perfectly balanced! Story: Violet steps in for her identical twin, Daisy, for a historical tour at the tour company where she works. At the hotel bar the first evening, Violet decides to try some seducing advice on the sexy stranger across the bar. After reading about a trick of  three seconds of eye-contact, then a smile, she wants to see if it works. And boy, does it work. Soon after, she receives a new drink, and the stranger comes to sit with her. Aston is very good at romcom, she mixes humour and hotness seamlessly, and it […]

Series Review : Tristan & Danika – R. K. Lilley

Series Review : Tristan & Danika – R. K. Lilley

Bad Things shows just how bad things can come when love can’t conquer all. Gripping story with characters who broke my heart. The whole Tristan & Danika series is set in the same universe as Lilley’s Up in the Air series. And I was intrigued by Tristan and Danika’s story from when they first showed up there. Bad Things starts withe Danika and Tristan’s meeting, their incredible chemistry, and how Danika did her best to resist his bad-boy charm. At first, their story was all about falling in love, but as Bad Things unfolded, nothing was easy for them. Danika needed stability, and Tristan was anything but stable. He loved Danika with all his heart, but when things became difficult […]

Review: Mystery Man – Kristen Ashley

Review: Mystery Man – Kristen Ashley

Mystery Man is classic KA! Very, very alpha male, lots of humour, love, suspense and squishy heart on my part… Story: There is so much going on in Mystery Man, some of it good, some of it bad, some of it ugly – all of it pretty amazing. Once I got over Hawk’s bossiness and Gwen’s waffling, I fell in love with them both. And as always, Ashley brought out the big guns when it comes to turns of phrases that made my heart turn over! Gwen’s sister was so much trouble, and she didn’t seem to care that she put her family in danger with her antics. Good thing that Gwen was on a lot of hot, alpha-men’s radar. And they […]

Review: Archangel’s Viper – Nalini Singh

Review: Archangel’s Viper – Nalini Singh

Archangel’s Viper was a whirlwind of plot, action and feels! Fast paced, with a lot at stake, I was taken for a trip I won’t soon forget. Story: Archangel’s Viper is about Holly and Venom, and the attraction between them. It’s also about the voice Holly hears in her mind, and how she’s grown extremely strong and fast in a short time. She needs discipline, which Venom has in spades. But she needs more than being a fighter, too. Venom and Holly go on a dangerous trip to figure out what is happening to her, and not one, but two Archangels are needed to deal with some of the things that come up on that trip. I loved getting to […]

Review: Five – J.A. Huss

Review: Five – J.A. Huss

Five blew my mind. It’s a story I’ve been waiting for since forever, and Huss definitely didn’t disappoint. Story: Princess Shrike was all ready to move on with her life. With no news from five in the past six years, she figured she should just do her thing. Date. Make new friends. Vacation in the Hamptons. Until her brother Ollie sends her a message saying she has to come home. Because Five is home. There was a lot of intrigue in Five. And a lot of heartache. And quite a bit of sadness. Of course, I also got Huss’ spectacular snark. And her hotness. Plus love – Five was also filled with beautiful love. Of course, there are also secret […]

Review: Romancing the Rogue – Erica Ridley

Review: Romancing the Rogue – Erica Ridley

Romancing the Rogue hit all the right spots, and I loved the forbidding castle in which Rebecca felt so at home. Story: Rebecca has been living hidden in a huge gothic castle ever since her parents passed away. Now, her uncle had passed away as well. And she was being sent on her way by the relation who inherited the castle. When she hears that Daniel is coming for the reading of the will, all kinds of memories assail her. He was the young man who humiliated her more than once in the past. And at the same time, she loved him very much. Once Daniel arrives, Rebecca wants to continue to hide, but he has other plans. When he […]

Review: Wicked Bite – Rebecca Zanetti

Review: Wicked Bite – Rebecca Zanetti

Wicked Bite packed an even bigger punch than the four prior books in the Realm Enforcers series! Action, fights and betrayal that made my head spin. Story: I was happy to get a book where Nessa and Bear were the main characters, but I hadn’t really counted on Nessa actually going undercover. She seemed young and a bit inexperienced in the prior book, but she was very far from it. Bear was still suffering from changing too many times in the prior story, and it appeared as if his life might be in danger. There chemistry between Nessa and Bear was very strong. But neither of them really trusted the other. Wicked Bite involved a lot of the plot that […]

Review: Elliott Redeemed – Scarlett Cole

Review: Elliott Redeemed – Scarlett Cole

Elliott Redeemed brought me the secrets Elliott kept, of his past, of how they affected his present, and what he did to deal with his darkness. Until he met Kendalee and Daniel, he was utterly lost. Story: There was a lot going on in Elliott Redeemed. Preload was back from tour, and more of the band members had moved out from their common house to be with their significant others. Elliott was back to having nightmares about his childhood, and I really wasn’t sure any good was going to happen for him. As he went to the Children’s Hospital to visit children with cancer, he stopped by at another room as well. That’s how he met Daniel. Who had set […]
