Review: The Kingmaker – Kennedy Ryan

Review: The Kingmaker – Kennedy Ryan

The Kingmaker is a masterpiece of a novel! There is a social issue that is important, there is romance, and there is some very strong characters you should all want to meet. I don’t even know where to start with my review for The Kingmaker. Lennix is one of the most amazing female characters I have ever had the pleasure of reading. She is strong, she fights for what she believes is right, she is smart, she is humble, self confident. And she’s also such a great friend, she includes people and yeah, she’s my kind of heroine for sure! Maxim is a fantastic character as well. He has principles, and he keeps them – even when in some ways […]

ARC Review: Sapphire Flames – Ilona Andrews

ARC Review: Sapphire Flames – Ilona Andrews

Sapphire Flames brings all the magic, the fights, the intrigue, the romance, and the tension I have gotten used to with the Hidden Legacy series! While I would have loved more Nevada and Rogan, I have to say Sapphire Flames still blew me away. Catalina is definitely a worthy heroine, and I loved how she wanted to take care of things herself. Just so that Nevada and Rogan could have a little alone time. The way the Houses tried to move in on her, and take her out made for a lot of action. In Sapphire Flames, I loved how Alessandro tried to find more with Catalina. She resisted all his advances, though, because she knew that people found themselves […]

Review: Say You Still Love Me – K.A. Tucker

Review: Say You Still Love Me – K.A. Tucker

Say You Still Love Me is a strong love story, where the past plays a very important role in the present – for all the characters. I’m a huge fan of second chance romances, and in Say You Still Love Me, Kyle and Piper worked on getting theirs. I loved a lot of things about this story, but I found the beginning to be a bit slow, and the ending to be a bit ‘easy’. That said, the story worked well for me, and I found the flashbacks to bring a lot to the present. The characters in Say You Still Love Me were relatable, and I wanted them to work things out. Especially as the flashes from the past […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review: Home Improvement – Tara Lain

Blogger Wife Chat Review: Home Improvement – Tara Lain

Home Improvement was yet another sweet, hot, and deep story by Ms. Lain, in my opinion. I loved how Gabe and Jerry met. And I loved Ellie even more. What did you think of this one, wifey? OH good golly! I certainly enjoyed this one, wifey! I loved the characters and I appreciated the messages offered, especially the one about being genuine. I’m not sure how Lain does it, but her characters always, always feel so relatable to me. And that’s also something I felt with Home Improvement. Even if they’re all very different from me, I felt connected to them – you know? I know exactly what you’re saying. No, neither of us is a single-dad, gay home improvement […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Island Side ~ Michelle Mankin

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Island Side ~ Michelle Mankin

Wow! I couldn’t have asked for a better ending for Hollie & Diesel or for this series. Mankin has a way of developing these complex, genuine, and flawed characters that you can’t help but root for. And watching them grow as they struggle to overcome or dig deep to find their inner strength…it’s beautiful. Mankin is also gifted at sharing her love of the ocean, surfing, rock music and the musicians who make it through her lovely prose. Her words paint vivid images of the landscape as well as visceral emotions. I’m sad to see this series end because I’m going to miss these characters! I’m sad it’s over, too – and I think I’ll do a re-read before BookBonanza, […]

Review: Twice in a Blue Moon – Christina Lauren

Review: Twice in a Blue Moon – Christina Lauren

Twice in a Blue Moon was fantastic – one of the best second chance romances I have read, and it was so filled with chemistry and tenderness I felt full while reading. What happens when you’re the hidden (not secret) child of Hollywood’s most coveted actor and you go on vacation to London and meet a cute boy? Well, lots of things happen, actually, and Tate broke the one rule her mom and grandma had instilled in her since they moved away from her father. And that had devastating consequences for all of them – but mostly for Tate. Twice in a Blue Moon is a beautifully written, character-driven story, and I enjoyed how Christina Lauren first let us got […]

Review: The Lemon Sisters – Jill Shalvis

Review: The Lemon Sisters – Jill Shalvis

The Lemon Sisters felt like the perfect behind-the-scenes story of a marriage, but also of the relationship sisters can have. The Lemon Sisters follow two sisters – and they lead very different lives. They were both hiding part of their frustrations with their lives, to not burden each other. Until one day, when Mindy shows up unannounced at Brooke’s house. Feeling overwhelmed and tired, Mindy needs a break. And in a way, Brooke does, too. Therefore, the two sisters swap houses for a few days, and Brooke takes Mindy’s kids back to Wildstone, the place where she hasn’t been back in ages. The Lemon Sisters follows Brooke much more closely than Mindy, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t get to […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review: Cowboys Don’t Samba – Tara Lain (@TaraLain @VivianaIzzo)

Blogger Wife Chat Review: Cowboys Don’t Samba – Tara Lain (@TaraLain @VivianaIzzo)

Cowboys Don’t Samba took a little while to take off for me, wifey, but once it did – it really did! What did you think of the beginning of Maury’s story? I have to say TLain pulled me in from the start, wifey. Maybe because I just knew where she was going with Maury’s story. Whatever it was, I enjoyed Maury from the get-go!   As always, Lain managed to bring more to the story than romance and bull-riding! I loved how different Tristao and Maury appeared at the beginning of the story, and especially the rivalry between Tristao’s older brother and Maury. Which stemmed from stereo-typing and preconception in my opinion. Yes! I admired how TLain incorporated the Latino/Mexican […]

ARC Review: Code Name Genesis – Sawyer Bennett

ARC Review: Code Name Genesis – Sawyer Bennett

Bennett did it again! I loved Code Name Genesis – it has everything I love in a romantic suspense story! Code Name Genesis really did it for me – it ticket all the boxes and left me breathless. Both because of the extremely hot chemistry between the characters and because of the suspense! Alpha man, check! Second chance at love, check! A crazy stalker ready to whisk away the heroine, check! A fantastic secondary cast, check! Joslyn and Kynan knew each other when they were much longer, and they had a beautiful love story. Until it all fell apart, and Joslyn left without a backward glance. When she needs help with a stalker, Kynan wants nothing to do with her […]

Review: Praying For Rain – BB Easton

Review: Praying For Rain – BB Easton

Praying For Rain was very intense. And it sure doesn’t fit into a neat little genre box, either. I was stuck with my kindle, not even able to go for a bathroom break while reading. Story and Characters: I’m not sure how BB Easton pulled off Praying for Rain, but she sure did! This apocalyptic, New Adult kind of romance, but not blew my mind. So different from her other books, I was awed from start to finish. Rain and Wes had been dealt a pretty shitty hand – Wes since he was born, Rain at least for the past year. And with the apocalypse approaching on fast hooves, not much for them to do to stay alive. In a […]
