Review ~ Spoiler Alert ~ Olivia Dade

Review ~ Spoiler Alert ~ Olivia Dade

Spoiler Alert delivered ALL the feels! It was angsty and emotional, and ODade captured exquisitely the injury and scars that can come at the hands of those we love…those that are supposed to love us unconditionally. I am ecstatic that Spoiler Alert was chosen for February’s COYER Book Club and that I was able to read it with two of my COYER friends, Berls and Kristen. April is a geologist. She chose her field because she loves rocks. She loves rocks for their layers and the stories they tell. She also has a side interest, that of writing fan fiction based on her favorite TV series. The parallels between April’s rocks’ stories and the stories she writes are myriad. When […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Rockaway Bride & The Hero and the Hacktivist ~ Pippa Grant

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Rockaway Bride & The Hero and the Hacktivist ~ Pippa Grant

Wifey, I didn’t think I was going to like Rockaway Bride as much as its predecessors because it didn’t incorporate the full cast like the first 2 installments did. However, after some reading and thinking, I realized that with Willow being the quiet introvert of this group, this was the only way her story could have been told! YAY I’m so happy you enjoyed this as well! It didn’t incorporate the full cast, but my oh my, it was well done, right?   So, the pre-wedding night…I can’t express how elated I was that she was re-thinking marrying what’s-his-name. (As an aside, I really want to read her step-brothers’ books because I love them!) The shenanigans definitely took an interesting […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review: Tempt the Boss – Natasha Madison

Blogger Wife Chat Review: Tempt the Boss – Natasha Madison

Wifey, Tempt the Boss was just what I needed. Thank you so much for suggesting it for one of our first buddy-reads of 2022! I laughed so hard at the pranks Lauren and Austin played on each other. What did you think of the humor in this one? Thanks for agreeing to buddy read this one, wifey. And seeing as I was feeling guilty for all the laughing I was doing while reading this on an early morning flight, I suppose you can say I seriously appreciated the humor. 😉 Oh my, what these two could think up! Another thing I loved in Tempt the Boss was the relationship between Lauren and her sister, Kaleigh, and the friendship between Austin […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Mister McHottie & Stud in the Stacks ~ Pippa Grant

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Mister McHottie & Stud in the Stacks ~ Pippa Grant

Wifey, thank you SO much for recommending this series. I needed lots of giggles and PGrant and the Girl Band series delivered. I enjoyed this series so, so much, Brandee! I think they kind of saved me in 2021… laughing out loud and following the crazy shenanigans of these characters just made me feel so good.   I have to say that I’m not the biggest fan of hate sex. BUT PGrant made me a fan of Bro & Chase’s version of it! 😉 LOL, Bro and Chase are definitely it… and I thought it was kind of ‘normal’ for them to have hate sex, yeah?   I adore the fact that Bro, or Sia, as she goes by with […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ The Next Mrs Russo ~ Jana Aston

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ The Next Mrs Russo ~ Jana Aston

Hooray! JAston is BACK! And with The Next Mrs Russo she’s better than ever! 🙂 Oh my gosh – it was all I could have ever wished for and more! I immediately fell for Audrey. Her quirky personality and her hysterical internal dialog was so much fun and it allowed us to really get to know her. I adored that she up-cycled vintage clothing (I didn’t know that was a thing) and that her plumbing was essentially held together with duct tape. Audrey made me realize how much I’d missed JAston’s characters. What about you? Audrey was fantastic – I loved her stream-of-consciousness talking and thinking. I had never heard of up-cycling vintage clothing either, but that was so cool […]

Review: Reel – Kennedy Ryan

Review: Reel – Kennedy Ryan

Reel is a beautifully written realistic romance with characters that feel so real you think they are a part of your circle of friends before the story is over. Kennedy Ryan did it again! I’m sure Reel will become a bestseller, and it already has all the necessary ingredients for a wonderful movie as well! The story is character-driven, which is my favorite kind of story. The narration starts in the past, then follows Neevah and Canon in the present – with snippets of Dessi’s life through the movie. Reel has not only made it onto my favorite 2021 shelf, it’s also on my all time favorite shelf! I would recommend this story to all romance lovers, but even more […]

Review: Lost Love Trilogy – Belle Brooks

Review: Lost Love Trilogy – Belle Brooks

Thirty Days / Lost Love has received quite an overhaul, and I for one, am very happy about that! There is still a lot going on, however, the story is faster paced, and there are more clues to Abigail and what is going on with her. Of course, realizing that she has retrograde amnesia is not easy for her. Especially because her best friend, her mum, and other people have been keeping the truth from her. This is apparently something that is common – amnesic people should remember on their own, so as to not make anything worse for them. There is a love story here, and I have the feeling it’s going to be a big one! Marcus was […]

Review ~ Next in Line ~ Amy Daws #unearthingabookishbounty

Review ~ Next in Line ~ Amy Daws #unearthingabookishbounty

I think I loved Next in Line even more than Wait With Me! There were plenty of laughs, of course, but there was something about Maggie that resonated with me. Witnessing the romance between her and Sam blossom was moving as well as humorous and HOT! Maggie is in Boulder on a mission. She wants to be more adventurous…to find her inner-explorer. This mission was spurred by her boyfriend calling her basic and breaking up with her. On Christmas Day. Anyway, she finds herself at a bait shop because nothing says adventurous like…ice fishing. 😉 Luckily, she happens upon a handsome guy who not only defends her honor but also agrees to serve as her guide. Sam is nothing if […]

Review: The Player Next Door – K.A. Tucker

Review: The Player Next Door – K.A. Tucker

Second chance at love is one of my favorite romance tropes, and The Player Next Door depicted a beautiful story between two people who had been apart for 13 years, and who still had obstacles in their path. The Player Next Door was a fun, cute, hot and flirty story, and I loved Scarlet and Shane from the beginning. I also loved Scarlet’s friends, Justine and Becca, they brought both comic relief and friendship to the table, and they were definitely there for Scarlet. At first, Scarlet was angry at seeing Shane again, and she was sure there was no way she could ever trust him again. However, he was very good at flirting, and being a good guy, now […]

Review: One Moment Please – Amy Daws

Review: One Moment Please – Amy Daws

One Moment Please is a humorous, hot, sweet romantic comedy, with so many charcuterie boards, and quite a bit of fun, with some darker moments. I absolutely adored One Moment Please! Lynsey was exactly my kind of heroine, she was driven, self-sufficient, resilient, smart, funny, and a charcuterie-board expert! Of course, she wasn’t perfect, but she just spoke to me on a very deep level. Her friends also totally agree with me 🙂 Josh – or Dr. Dick as Lynsey got to calling him – was an enigma at first. He was grumpy, and borderline assholey. But there was still something about him that not only drew the eye (hello good looking!), there was more than that. One Moment Please […]
