Review: No Holding Back – Lori Foster

Review: No Holding Back – Lori Foster

No Holding Back is the first book in a new series by Lori Foster, and it blew my socks off! Sterling and Cade were intriguing and realistic characters I loved getting to know. No Holding Back is about a strong female character, Sterling, who had been through literal hell when she was in her late teens. I have a trigger warning on my Goodreads review just in case… However, using her earlier trauma as a strength in order to fight evil is what she does. Not only does she do it well, she also works alone. Sterling is not a trusting person, but she always feels good when she goes to Cade’s bar after work. It’s the only place where […]

Review: The Forever Girl – Jill Shalvis

Review: The Forever Girl – Jill Shalvis

The Forever Girl is a feel-good romance of epic proportions. Between the friendships and unconventional family ties, and the evident chemistry between the protagonists, Shalvis hit the bull’s eye once more. One of the things I loved the most about The Forever Girl was the fact that the main characters had a very strong bond from spending one year together when they were in their late teens. In a way this impacted the overall plot, and specifically Maze’s feelings of not being adequate as a friend, sister or lover. As always, Shalvis managed to tie my heartstrings in knots, in the best way! And I really loved how Maze, Cat, Heather and Walker all had their demons to deal with […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Storm ~ Michelle Mankin

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Storm ~ Michelle Mankin

Well, wifey, I feel MMankin has outdone herself with Storm. She delivered everything I’ve come to expect from her and more! My fingers are crossed for books for Saber, Shield, and Cork. 😉 Oh my gosh, I so agree! It was so, so good. I loved every single word, lyric, look, and touch. It was really well written, and the characters were out of this world.   I admired how MMankin built the story of Lotus and Storm being childhood friends. They both experienced traumatic things in their young lives and were anchors for each other. Eventually, though, Storm had to leave. His leaving was realistically portrayed and I appreciated even more how MMankin brought Lotus and Storm back together. […]

New Release Review ~ Taking on the Billionaire ~ Robin Covington

New Release Review ~ Taking on the Billionaire ~ Robin Covington

Taking on the Billionaire served as my introduction to RCovington and I’m thrilled to have met her as well as her MCs, Adam & Tess. RCovington delivered a compelling story with well-drawn characters that kept me engaged the their story. I’m eager for more and anxious over the few questions she left me with in the end. 😉 Highlights Characters Both Adam and Tess suffered traumatic experiences at young ages. Adam was wrongly removed from his family home, taken from his siblings and his Cherokee heritage. He ended up adopted by a wealthy family who clearly cared more for their image than their new son. Tess was abandoned by her mother and lost her father not much later. She was […]

Review: Forever Wild – K.A. Tucker

Review: Forever Wild – K.A. Tucker

Forever Wild brought me back to Alaska, to Calla and Jonah and their merry bunch of family and neighbors. Forever Wild is the perfect Christmas novella in my opinion. Calla and Jonah had family visiting for Christmas. Jonah’s mom and stepdad were there from Norway, and Calla’s mom and stepdad came from Toronto to celebrate with them. Forever Wild has a lot of humor, but it also has complicated family relationships, the still beautiful romance, and all the intricacies of neighbors who have become a new family of sorts. I loved how Calla and Jonah’s relationship has evolved since The Simple Wild, especially because in this story, they trust each other fully. They also know they can count on each […]

Review ~ Invest in Me ~ Nan Dixon

Review ~ Invest in Me ~ Nan Dixon

Invest in Me is the first book in the Big Sky Dreamers series and was the first book I’ve read from Nan Dixon. It introduced all the players in the series but focused on Sienna and Tanner. I found all the characters relatable and their stories engaging. And I look forward to continuing the series. Sienna and Tanner had a one-night-stand. One where he disappeared without a word the next morning. Sienna was, understandably, hurt because they’d spent a lot of time talking and she thought they’d really hit it off. And their chemistry was hot. Fast forward ~6 months and Tanner’s in one of Sienna’s classes. Worse than that, she’s assigned to be in a semester long project group […]

Review: Lies and Lullabies – Sarina Bowen

Review: Lies and Lullabies – Sarina Bowen

Bowen totally did it again! Lies and Lullabies is a fantastic story – where there is a meet cute at first, and then, a few years later a possibility of a second chance. When Jonas and Kira first met in Lies and Lullabies, they formed a nice friendship that felt safe for both of them. They both tried to ignore the strong attraction and the hot chemistry between them, and it worked. Mostly. However, on Jonas’ last night there, Kira managed to persuade him to let her have her way with him. And what a glorious way it was! Lies and Lullabies is much more than a romance, though, because there is so much hurt in both Jonas’ and Kira’s […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Rock F*ck Club #6 ~ Michelle Mankin

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Rock F*ck Club #6 ~ Michelle Mankin

What a wonderful way to wrap-up this unique series. Rock F*ck Club is all about empowering women with the ability to embrace their sexuality without fear of judgement. Each woman in the series went about their journey in different ways but all managed to find real love despite trials and tribulations along the way. This final story once again follows Josephine and Gale (my favorite couple in the series!) as they navigate past and present obstacles on their way to a future together. Jo and Gale are my favorite couple in the series, too, and I loved to see more of them here. I think this ending truly made sense, and I’m so happy Mankin went there.   I have […]

Review : The Boyfriend Project – Farrah Rochon

Review : The Boyfriend Project – Farrah Rochon

The Boyfriend Project is one of the most heartfelt, real, most adorable romances I have ever read! The Boyfriend Project was my first novel by Ms. Rochon, and I’m now a huge fan of hers. This novel is one of my top five favorites in 2020, both because it’s very well written, and because the female friendships started because of a very unfortunate situation for three women. Samiah working in a male-dominated universe also made her so strong, not because she wanted to be strong, but she had to be strong to succeed. In comes Daniel, a new colleague with a big secret, which is when The Boyfriend Project took on a romantic aspect as well. Even if both Samiah and […]

Review: The Summer Deal – Jill Shalvis

Review: The Summer Deal – Jill Shalvis

The Summer Deal is a beautifully written romance where regret is one of the themes, and forgiveness is another one. The Summer Deal showed me once more why I’m such a fan of Shalvis’ writing! The characters made the story here, and the way they all had their difficulties to deal with made them very realistic. From the outside, other people’s lives can seem so simple and put together, but once we get a peek behind the scenes, we realize that’s not the case at all. Brynn had a good childhood in many ways, however, she had hidden certain things from her mothers in order to protect them. Never letting them know how difficult camp was, or how some kids […]
