Audiobook Review: Hopeless (Hopeless #1) – Colleen Hoover

Audiobook Review: Hopeless (Hopeless #1) – Colleen Hoover

When I first read Hopeless, I think it became my favorite Colleen Hoover story, because it is so very deep, and so very gritty, and my emotions were all over the place because Sky and her past were unraveling so very slowly. And I adored both Sky and Holder, and I was fond of Six, too, even if she didn’t stay for the whole story. Listening to the audiobook brought all my feelings from Hopeless even more to the surface! I was crying two rivers on the bus one day on my way to Uni, and I would have much rather stayed on the bus all the listening to the story than going to class. Angela Goethals narrates Hopeless beautifully, […]

Audiobook Review: Maybe Someday – Colleen Hoover

Audiobook Review: Maybe Someday – Colleen Hoover

Maybe Someday is a book I gave four stars to when I read the ARC just before it was released. I was a little bit hung up with the cheating, thinking of cheating and waffling on both Ridge’s and Sydney’s parts. Especially because I enjoyed Maggie and I felt so bad for her, even if Ridge and Sydney never actually crossed the line and did cheat. However, listening to Maybe Someday, with a male and a female narrator made the experience very different. I was drawn into their conflicting feelings, and the way they were both holding back for fear of hurting Maggie, even as they were hurting themselves. And since each chapter is from either Ridge or Sydney’s point […]

Audiobook Review: Slammed (Slammed #1) – Colleen Hoover

Audiobook Review: Slammed (Slammed #1) – Colleen Hoover

I fell in love with Ms. Hoover’s writing when I read Slammed a while back, and after that, I continued reading all of her stories, and I am always somewhat mesmerized by the writing, the characters and the way the story draws me in completely. So when I discovered Audible, I decided I wanted to listen to some books that I thought would be even better when narrated in a good way. As I have already reviewed the written copy of Slammed, I will concentrate on the narration in this review, and it might be quite a bit shorter – this is my first ever audiobook review, and I can only say I was completely thrilled! Listening to a story […]

Review: Rush – Nyrae Dawn

*I received a free ARC of Rush from Forever (Grand Central Publishing) via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* Rush is a very apt new adult romance about two boys who have been in love for ages, but both of them are scared about coming out. Brandon is afraid he won’t be able to play college football if his team-mates know he’s gay, and Alec has been listening to his dad’s gay-slurs for as long he can remember. Even if they haven’t seen each other in a long time, they are both really attached to each other, and when Charlotte, Alec’s best friend, calls him to let him know Brandon has been seriously hurt in an accident a while […]

Giveaway, Blogtour and Review: GUNS: The Spencer Book (Rook and Ronin spinoff) – J.A. Huss

*I received a free ARC of GUNS from Xpresso Book Tours in exchange of an honest review* Holy freaking amazeballs, Batman! GUNS pushed a lot of buttons, and for almost the first half, I was so mad at Spencer! The way he treated Ronnie just wasn’t right, even if he thought he was doing it for all the right reasons! And even if GUNS is called The Spencer Book, it was just as much Ronnie’s book, as it is written in dual point of views. And I loved getting to know Ronnie better, because underneath her beautiful exterior and seemingly capable and strong actions, she is pretty insecure, especially when it comes to Spencer. And that brings me back to […]

#COYER Review: The Wicked We Have Done (Chaos Theory #1) – Sarah Harian

*I received a free ARC of The Wicked We Have Done from Penguin via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* The Wicked We Have Done is a chilling and mesmerizing story, taking humanity to the very limit of morality and ethics, filled with uneasy friendships and wrapped up in a pretty ugly and messy parcel. The parcel itself is the story, the relationships, the way the characters are forced together, and the sheer terror of their situation. Five young women and five young men, who would possible have been sentenced to death are rather sent to a the Compass Room, where their moral compass is supposed to be assessed by way of illusions and how the triggers make them […]

#COYER Review: Maybe Someday – Colleen Hoover

*I received a free ARC of Maybe Someday from Atria Books via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* Maybe Someday is a beautifully written contemporary New Adult romance, and, as usual the prose and the music are big parts of the story. Sydney thinks she knows all about heartache when she finds herself outside in the rain, on her birthday, after confronting her best friend and her boyfriend about their sneaking around behind her back. I truly loved how Sydney dealt with her back-stabbing friends before she packed her bags and left. Luckily for her, Ridge from across the courtyard has one of his roommates bring her up to his apartment and lets her stay until she gets her […]

Review: Collide (Collide #1) – Gail McHugh

*I received a free ARC of Collide from Atria Books via Edelweiss in exchange of an honest review* Collide is a tense NA romance filled with angst and drama, while most of the tropes for the genre are present, it worked out well for this story as I still want to know more about most of the characters. Emily has been through a hard patch, losing her mom to cancer, the one person she could count on to help her and take care of her was Dillon, her boyfriend from New York. Soon after her mother’s death, Emily moves to New York from Colorado to be closer to Dillon. However, instead of moving in with him, she moves in with […]

Review: Facade (Games #2) – Nyrae Dawn

*I received a free ARC of Facade from Forever Grand Central Publishing via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* Facade took a hold of my heart, ripped it out of my chest and shredded it to pieces! So much dark sadness, so many emotions, I fell in love with both the characters and the beautiful prose. The storyline depicts a harsh reality – for all of the characters, and the incredibly deep sadness they feel and try to get rid of in whichever way might work is an important part of their journey. Laney and Adrian are both dealing with a lot of mis-placed guilt, and in order to function in the world, they both put up a facade […]
