Review: Friction – Sawyer Bennett

Review: Friction – Sawyer Bennett

Who knew legal-talk could be so hot? Friction has a lot of depth, characters I really enjoyed, and a case that made my heart lurch for the plaintiff. My Friction review: I didn’t really know what to expect when I picked up Friction, apart from the fact that I usually love Ms. Bennett’s writing, and thought I’d enjoy this story of hers as well. And I sure did enjoy it! It’s a fast-paced story, with a female lead who knows what she wants, and who is definitely willing to do what it takes to get that. Leary was both very smart and in touch with her feminine side. Using her sex appeal to further her clients’ agenda did not bother […]

Review: Love Evolution – Michelle Mankin

Review: Love Evolution – Michelle Mankin

Love Evolution is a great start to the Brutal Strength / Black Cat Records series, I loved the characters, the excitement, the reluctant romance and, of course, the music! My Love Evolution review: I love it when stories manage to mix romance and music, and Mankin definitely managed that in Love Evolution. Finding herself all alone, Avery was ready to do anything to catch a break and find a position as guitarist in a group. When her manager told her Brutal Strength didn’t want a female guitarist, she dressed as a boy, cut her hair, and went to the audition. Of course, after she got the job, there were some awkward moments between her and the lead-singer of the group, […]

Review: The Japanese Lover – Isabel Allende

Review: The Japanese Lover – Isabel Allende

The Japanese Lover is a deep, poetic story, where lives are intertwined and influence each other. Spanning over several decades, the story delves into characters secret lives, and show that love is indeed very strong. My The Japanese Lover review: The Japanese Lover follows Alma Belasco’s life, from she was a little girl and until she was an old woman in her eighties, and she tells her story to one of the carers, Irina Bazili. These two women, who seem to have nothing at all in common shared their days at Lark House Nursing Home, and Alma soon decided to pay Irina to be her assistant, so she could share documents from her past with her grand-son, Seth. Filled with […]

Review: Walk Through Fire – Kristen Ashley

Review: Walk Through Fire – Kristen Ashley

Walk Through Fire is yet another huge win from Kristen Ashley! The characters, as always, were amazing, and I loved that the main characters were in the forties, still hot for each other, and so open with their feelings. There were some pretty dark times for them, but lots of light and love as well. My Walk Through Fire review: First of all, let me tell you Kristen Ashley certainly knows how to write the smoking hot sexy scenes! I melted when I was reading about Logan and Millie getting it on, in every way! From the little touches, the looks, the beautiful words Logan said to his old lady, and how explosive they were together. The characters completely made […]

Review: Wrong – Jana Aston

Review: Wrong – Jana Aston

Wrong is filled with a lot of humor, a dash of romance, and lot and lots of hot kinkiness. I love Sophie and Luke – even if their relationship was definitely wrong 😉 I didn’t know what to think of Wrong when I read the summary, I already knew Ms. Aston had a great sense of humor and a dirty mind, though, so I was pretty sure I would get some good laughs. And that, I did! I laughed out loud in several instances, and my 13-year-old son asked me why – and I just couldn’t answer. Some things are definitely not for young ears. Sophie was a very quirky heroine, but one I really enjoyed, and that’s really saying […]

Review: Surviving Ice – K. A. Tucker

Review: Surviving Ice – K. A. Tucker

Surviving Ice was fantastic! Suspense, romance, danger, a very cool tattoo artist and a former SEAL who didn’t know how far the company he was working for took some matters. My Surviving Ice review: Surviving Ice was so intense, especially because it started right in the middle of the action – Ivy witnessed her uncle being killed, and she had to hide underneath a desk in order to stay undetected herself! If you have read the prior stories in Tucker’s Burying Water series, you have already met Ivy – she comes across as distanced and quite abrasive, but there is a soft heart hiding deep inside of her. After her uncle’s death, she is ready to be on the move […]

Review: A Winter Wedding – Brenda Novak

Review: A Winter Wedding – Brenda Novak

A Winter Wedding is a sweet and intense romance, in which Kyle gets a new chance at love, even if his ex is dong her best to stop him from moving his life forward. My A Winter Wedding review: I was so happy to get Kyle’s story at last! He had been through so much heartache, and he really deserved to catch a break. A Winter Wedding is his story, and Lourdes was definitely a worthy romantic interest for him. While their romance was really moving forward fast, it made sense to me, because they were thrown together during a time that was a bit difficult for both of them – and because they didn’t know each other they opened […]

Review: The Queen – Tiffany Reisz

Review: The Queen – Tiffany Reisz

The Queen definitely does tie up loose ends, and it also shows the spectacular talent Ms. Reisz has with words… Everything Kingsley, Nora and Søren went through was worth it – because through all the heartache and pain, the found themselves, and each other, again. My The Queen review: While I am very sorry the Original Sinners series is over now, what a way to go! The Queen continues just after the end of The Virgin, however, most of the story folds out as a story Nora tells Søren, with only glimpses to the present. As always, Ms. Reisz’s storytelling is far above par, it’s always amazing to me how involved I have become in these characters, and how connected […]

Audio Review: Archangel’s Enigma – Nalini Singh

Audio Review: Archangel’s Enigma – Nalini Singh

Archangel’s Enigma features one of Raphael’s most enigmatic people, Naasir has been a mystery to me since he first showed up, and it was a delight to get to know him better! My Archangel’s Enigma review: Naasir has a very specific quest in Archangel’s Enigma, he is to get Andromena at the refuge, because the young scholar may be the only one who can help him find a sleeping ancient, one Raphael and his allies need in order to counteract the archangel who tried to start a war by attacking New York a little while ago. Naasir is a very complex character, it’s unknown what species he is, exactly, but he is ever loyal to Raphael and the others who […]

Review: Until Death – Cynthia Eden

Review: Until Death – Cynthia Eden

A mystery set during Mardi Gras, where the killer wears a mask – that is how Until Death started, and it was a spicy mystery with quite a bit of romance as well. My Until Death review: Each and every character in Until Death was keeping at least one secret, and that definitely made the mystery very difficult to figure out. I loved Ivy, she was a strong character, very capable, and extremely loyal. When she saw a young woman being killed while she was on her float, she jumped off and went after them – ultimately, she got the uniformed cop to help her find out what had happened, and they found her dead inside an abandoned building. Because […]
