Audio Review: Tragic – J.A. Huss

Audio Review: Tragic – J.A. Huss

Tragic is one of my favorite Huss stories, and it was a treat to listen to the audio – the narrators brought the characters to life perfectly! My Tragic audioreview: At the beginning of listening to Tragic, I had a little trouble with the male narrator, especially because his French accent didn’t sound French at all, but also because he made a very squeaky voice when he was sharing something Rook said, but from Ronin’s point of view. The female narrator nailed it, though, and most of the chapters were from Rook’s perspective, so I was completely gone in the story very quickly. I read the whole Rook and Ronin series a while ago, and listening to Tragic brought some […]

Review: All I Want – Jill Shalvis

Review: All I Want – Jill Shalvis

All I Want is a tense and beautiful contemporary romance with realistic and complex characters, including Parker’s younger sister who had Down’s syndrome. My All I Want review: Between the characters I fell in love with, the solid story, the slight sense of danger at times and the beautiful romance, All I Want ended up being the perfect romance! Shalvis definitely knows exactly how to hit my heart just right, where I can feel both the love and the sorrow right along with the characters. Zoe and Parker were both extremely stubborn, but even they couldn’t deny the strong chemistry between them from the moment they met. On top of that, I really enjoyed all the characteristics of both! Zoe […]

Review: Rock Redemption – Nalini Singh

Review: Rock Redemption – Nalini Singh

Oh wow! Rock Redemption took the Rock Kiss series to the next level! All my emotions were engaged, and I’m still a little teary-eyed, both happy and sad tears – all at the same time. My Rock Redemption review: Rock Redemption took me on a very emotional ride, both because of the horrific darkness in Noah’s past, and because of the way Kit was stalked, scared, and needed someone to lean on. I loved getting to know the two main characters better, and I also enjoyed how Singh was able to even share how the paparazzi could make things very difficult for the famous friends – following them around, or using tele-lenses when not being able to come close enough […]

Review: The Heat of the Moment – Katie Rose

Review: The Heat of the Moment – Katie Rose

This series keeps getting better with each installment! The Heat of the Moment is fun, sporty, flirty and sexy 🙂 My The Heat of the Moment review: The Heat of the Moment is my favorite in Rose’s Boys of Summer series, I think it was because even through Jessica’s reluctance to fall for Gavin, I could feel his charm and sincerity just as much as she did. Having been hurt badly in love before, I understood where Jessica came from, even if Gavin was very different from Jessica’s former boyfriend. I enjoyed Gavin a lot, because he had his whole life turned around due to a sports injury, and he was unsure if he’d be able to continue to play […]

Review: Knave of Broken Hearts – Tara Lain

Review: Knave of Broken Hearts – Tara Lain

Knave of Broken Hearts confirms my first impression of Tara Lain’s series Love in Laguna, it’s well done, with heartwarming characters and quite a bit of heart-ache, too. For Knave of Broken Heart, I did yet another buddy read with my friend Brandee @ Bookworm Brandee, and we had a great time chatting about the story, the characters and the issues Ms. Lain brought up in this amazing story. My Knave of Broken Hearts review / book-chat: Lexxie : What did you think? I have to admit I was very surprised that Jim was the main character in Knave of Broken Hearts, but then, thinking back, he was supportive of Billy straight away, and he seemed very open-minded. And as […]

Audio Review: Rock Courtship – Nalini Singh

Audio Review: Rock Courtship – Nalini Singh

Rock Courtship is a scorching hot romance with relatable characters, and the narration is so well done it was even better to listen to than to read! My Rock Courtship review: When I first started reading the Rock Kiss series, I enjoyed it, but I absolutely loved Rock Courtship! David is such an amazing character, he’s the gentleman rocker, and he’s been in love with Thea for a long time. She’s been burned in love before, though, and has made her new policy one of not dating any musicians… When David starts showing her just how much he wants her, though, it’s really difficult for her to resist. Writing her memos instead of love-notes brings her attention to a peak, […]

Review: Hanover House – Brenda Novak

Review: Hanover House – Brenda Novak

Hanover House is really, really creepy! And well written with an amazing main character who has been through hell, and now wants to help figure out what it is that makes a psychopath. Filled with suspense and a little romance, this prequel definitely made me want more! My Hanover House review: From the very start of Hanover House, I was in awe of Evelyn! Instead of hiding and not confronting her fears after she was brutally attacked by her boyfriend when she was only sixteen, she went on to become a psychiatrist to try to find out what exactly it is that makes some people psychopaths. And she wanted to further her research to see if there was any possibility […]

Review: Texas Kissing – Helena Newbury

Review: Texas Kissing – Helena Newbury

Texas Kissing is both sweet and filled with danger, Lily had been hiding from her mafia-boss uncle for two years, and everything was fine until she met Bull, the sexy, tall, muscular cowboy who saved her from a bull… My Texas Kissing review: Lily had lived a quiet life in her converted buss for the past two years, hardly ever leaving apart from when she needed to meet with her cartel or armsdealer clients who needed a new passport or three. Texas Kissing has quite a bit of suspense, and it was easy to see why Lily was so careful not to be attached to anyone, even if she felt a little lonely at times. At the beginning of the […]

Review: Ryker – Sawyer Bennett

Review: Ryker – Sawyer Bennett

Ryker was simply fucking fantastic! From beginning to end, I was swept off my feet by both Ryker and Gray, they were such wonderful characters to get to know, and I was cheering for them all the way! My Ryker review: I already enjoyed Ryker when he arrived to join Cold Fury Hockey in Zach, and in his own book, that man is just completely made of amazing! Strong, loyal, loving, he is raising his two girls on his own after his wife left him for a much younger guy. I love a dad who is taking good care of his children, and he definitely did that! Being the sole provider for them in every way wasn’t exactly easy, though, […]

Review: Magic Breaks – Ilona Andrews

Review: Magic Breaks – Ilona Andrews

Magic Breaks brings a lot of loose ends together, while also opening up a few new cans of worms. Fast-paced and action-filled, but also having that special bond Kate has with the characters she cares for, it was an amazing read. My Magic Breaks review: It’s not exactly a secret that I fell in love with Kate Daniels when I finally started reading these books about a year ago. I had been holding out on Magic Breaks, though, so I could read it back to back with Magic Shifts this summer. And I’m very happy I waited a while, because it was well worth the wait! Both Kate and Curran continue to be one of my favorite paranormal couples! They […]
