Blogger Wife Chat Review: Tempt the Boss – Natasha Madison

Blogger Wife Chat Review: Tempt the Boss – Natasha Madison

Wifey, Tempt the Boss was just what I needed. Thank you so much for suggesting it for one of our first buddy-reads of 2022! I laughed so hard at the pranks Lauren and Austin played on each other. What did you think of the humor in this one? Thanks for agreeing to buddy read this one, wifey. And seeing as I was feeling guilty for all the laughing I was doing while reading this on an early morning flight, I suppose you can say I seriously appreciated the humor. 😉 Oh my, what these two could think up! Another thing I loved in Tempt the Boss was the relationship between Lauren and her sister, Kaleigh, and the friendship between Austin […]

Buddy Read Chat Review w/Berls ~ Mine to Keep ~ Cynthia Eden @BerlsS

Buddy Read Chat Review w/Berls ~ Mine to Keep ~ Cynthia Eden @BerlsS

Mine to Keep started off a little more slowly than its predecessor but it didn’t take too long to draw me in. Once I was hooked I was flying through the pages while biting my nails. CEden impressed me with her suspense in the first installment but she amped up the tension in this one. And she kept me in the dark the entire time! I so agree! I think that the tension in Mine to Take was that you were constantly misdirected on the culprit. In Mine to Keep, the tension was that I was clueless! I knew who it COULDN’T be and was pretty confident that they were wrong on a couple of their suspects. But I never […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ The Cutting Edge ~ CD Reiss

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ The Cutting Edge ~ CD Reiss

The Cutting Edge served to prove how adept at writing compelling stories Reiss is. She not only put me in a combat hospital in Balad by drawing images to vivid they were visceral, she also drew characters I’m completely invested in. This is my first series by Reiss, and I just don’t understand why I waited so long! I agree – those images were visceral, and the characters hooked me very quickly! I admit to going into The Cutting Edge blind, wifey. Reiss is an auto-buy so I didn’t even remember/know what the story was about when I started it. However, she gripped me immediately and didn’t let go. She delivered a compelling, at times gut-wrenching, at times humorous, at […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ King ~ T.M. Frazier

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ King ~ T.M. Frazier

Wow, I did not know what I was getting myself into with King. I’d heard Frazier gave good anti-hero and…well, she certainly does. She grabbed me by the throat, yanked me into the story, and didn’t let go. King and Doe’s story was riveting and emotional and gritty and dark. And I enjoyed every bit.  I agree with you! King was awesome. And I had heard of Frazier, too. I actually chatted with her in London in February, in front of the hotel we were staying at for RARE. And I had no idea she was an author 😀 Dark and gritty can definitely be awesome. That prologue was something, wasn’t it? I loved what it said about King and at […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Cocky Bastard ~ Penelope Ward & Vi Keeland

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Cocky Bastard ~ Penelope Ward & Vi Keeland

Lexxie and I buddy read Cocky Bastard – although she read while I listened. We both enjoyed this second chance at romance story that was fun as well as deep. What did you think about their first meeting? And the subsequent road trip? The first meeting had me laugh out loud for real! And man, Chance really was a cocky bastard *laughs*. The road trip was awesome – I felt like I was travelling with them. I loved that they listened to music, stopped for food, and just chatted about so many different subjects. Even if Chance was very careful about not sharing one aspect of his own life. The Obama bobble-head! *grins* Yes, that was funny. I enjoyed their […]

Review ~ The Choices I’ve Made ~ J.L. Berg

Review ~ The Choices I’ve Made ~ J.L. Berg

I’m a sucker for second-chance romances so The Choices I’ve Made was right up my alley. Add in the small-town setting and this had the makings of a great read. And while I enjoyed Jake and Molly’s story, there was some telling rather than showing in the character development that kept them from being as complex as they could’ve been. Jake and Molly were high school sweethearts who’d believed nothing could ever tear them apart. Then Jake lost his mom and couldn’t deal with the grief and ghosts so he left his island home in search of a new life. Molly was left alone to pick up the pieces and try to move on without her soulmate. Twelve years later, […]

Review: Dangerous Surrender – Katie Reus

Review: Dangerous Surrender – Katie Reus

Dangerous Surrender is a fast-paced romantic suspense, and it kept me second-guessing things all along, while I was cheering for the heroine to get ahead. The suspense was keeping me all wired from the very first sentence of Dangerous Surrender, I had no idea why Taylor had put on a power-suit and went into work early, and from there on, things happened fast! And there was definitely a real danger as she saw her boss, mentor and friend get killed in cold blood – due to what she had brought into the office to discuss with him that day. On the run, Taylor’s first thoughts were to go to the police. Good thing she was a little paranoid and avoided […]

Review: Irresistible Refrain – Michelle Mankin

Review: Irresistible Refrain – Michelle Mankin

Irresistible Refrain is an irresistible story of a broken girl and the boy she’s loved since she was little. Music, a fast-paced life and the fact that she’s with his best friend instead of him made this so compelling! Lace was so very lost, and being back in the Tempest tour bus didn’t really change any of that. Even as she had been away from the band for a long time, she picked up her relationship with War as soon as she came back, even if Bryan was looking at her differently than usual at this time. Irresistible Refrain showed the ugly side of the music industry, especially when it came to War and Lace. Drug-use, not taking care of […]

Review: Rock Chick Redemption – Kristen Ashley

Review: Rock Chick Redemption – Kristen Ashley

Rock Chick Redemption was fucking phat! I especially loved Annette, even if she’s not even officially a rock chick 😀 It took me a little time to warm up to Hank and his bossy ways, but I really loved Roxie – high maintenance and all. My Rock Chick Redemption review: On the run from her ex-boyfriend, a possible drug-dealer and all around bad guy, Roxie arrived in Denver to find her uncle Tex. Rock Chick Redemption started with Roxie arriving at Fornum’s, where the whole gang was there, and she had her first meeting with Tex with the rock chicks and the Nightingale men as an audience. With a half-assed plan on how she’d be able to finally shake Billy […]

Review: Never Never #2 – Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher

Review: Never Never #2 – Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher

Oh my goodness, Never Never is killing me! That is a flipping strong cliff-hanger right there, and I just don’t know if I’ll be able to wait for the next installment! My Never Never review: In Never Never Part 2, I got to know Silas a lot better, as he was the main narrator of the story. He was frantic in his search for Charlie, and the mystery and the suspense was truly palpable, until the very last word of the story! The character development was really well done, especially when taking into account that Silas didn’t even know who he was at the beginning of the story. However, as he followed his own clues, he started having some strong […]
