Review: Mystery Man – Kristen Ashley

Review: Mystery Man – Kristen Ashley

Mystery Man is classic KA! Very, very alpha male, lots of humour, love, suspense and squishy heart on my part… Story: There is so much going on in Mystery Man, some of it good, some of it bad, some of it ugly – all of it pretty amazing. Once I got over Hawk’s bossiness and Gwen’s waffling, I fell in love with them both. And as always, Ashley brought out the big guns when it comes to turns of phrases that made my heart turn over! Gwen’s sister was so much trouble, and she didn’t seem to care that she put her family in danger with her antics. Good thing that Gwen was on a lot of hot, alpha-men’s radar. And they […]

Review: Lethal Lies – Rebecca Zanetti

Review: Lethal Lies – Rebecca Zanetti

Lethal Lies is fast paced, filled with danger and delicious romance, even with a serial killer on the loose who will stop at nothing. Lethal Lies is filled with action, romance, secrets, and lies. It’s a fast-paced adventure with ties to both the past and the future. I somehow read this before the first book in the series, but I still loved the story, the characters and the plot – that’s testament to how good it was. Zanetti’s world is a dangerous place, where the mysteries of the past try to catch up with the blood brothers in the present. I love this whole universe, because Zanetti always manages to keep the world building on point, and the characters that […]

Review: Deadly Silence – Rebecca Zanetti

Review: Deadly Silence – Rebecca Zanetti

Deadly Silence was packed with action, danger and romance, and I couldn’t set the book down until I had finished reading! This series is even more fast paced than the Sin Brothers series, and that’s saying something. Deadly Silence is the first in a spin-off of the Sin Brothers series, and I do think it’s important to read that series first to get some of the things that happen this one. Especially when it comes to some of the mystery surrounding the blood brothers. And there is so much action in this story it was at such a break-neck speed it was hard to catch my breath more than once! I enjoyed both the backstory and the present story, both were important […]

Review: Kaleidoscope – Kristen Ashley

Review: Kaleidoscope – Kristen Ashley

Kaleidoscope had some beautiful metaphors, but Emme and Deck didn’t wow me as much as other Colorado Mountain couples have. The main thing that made Kaleidoscope less enjoyable to me was that in many ways, Emme was just too high strung and high maintenance for me. I did get why at the very end, but by that time, I didn’t care that much anymore. I totally loved Deck, though, and the connections he had both with the rest of the Colorado Mountain men, and with the Rock Chick guys. One thing I love with Kristen Ashley is the strong sense of community, and that was present in Kaleidoscope as well. So was both the incredible mystery, the suspense, and the […]

Review: Jagged – Kristen Ashley

Review: Jagged – Kristen Ashley

The romance and the closeness in Jagged hit me right in the chest – it was beautiful! One of the things I loved the most about Jagged was the fact that Ham’s voice got jagged in certain situations. And I have to say, my feels with this story were completely off the charts. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to thank Brandee enough for introducing me to Kristen Ashley’s books! The characters are grown-ups, which is something I find refreshing in romance, and while there was still a bit of drama, the action, the suspense, and the relationships were all easy to relate to, and I found I had a lot of love for the characters as they went […]

#Review Only You – Denise Grover Swank

#Review Only You – Denise Grover Swank

Only You has a lot of humor, flirty dialogues and characters who think they should stay far away from anything that resembles love… Romantic comedy at is finest – Only You fits the bill, for sure. Between the whirlwind romance, the reluctant couple, the dragon-lady mother-in-law from hell and the fact that Holly didn’t really trust anyone, everything seemed to indicate that there were too many obstacles in the way of happiness for Kevin and Holly. While there is a lot of fun and lightness in Only You, there are some more serious themes explored as well. Like the fact that Holly’s parents were killed in a car accident when she was only five. Or how her grandmother, who raised her […]

Review: The Rogue’s Proposal – Jennifer Haymore

Review: The Rogue’s Proposal – Jennifer Haymore

The Rogue’s Proposal is a very hot, sensual and mysterious tale! I have no idea why I’ve let this stay hidden on my kindle for so long! Luke and Em were quite different from the characters I usually follow in a historical romance, and that made The Rogue’s Proposal a unique read. Em, a young widow, was willing to do whatever it took to find the man who had murdered her husband and run away with her family’s fortune. Luke was after the same man, but for different reasons, and when Em showed up to tell him she would go on this manhunt with him, all he could think about was how delicate and sweet-looking she was. His thoughts went […]

Review: My Kind of Wonderful – Jill Shalvis

Review: My Kind of Wonderful – Jill Shalvis

My Kind of Wonderful is one of those stories that keeps you up way too late at night, while you laugh, cry, shiver and swoon alongside the characters. My My Kind of Wonderful review: There is really no wonder why Shalvis is one of my top go-to authors for contemporary romance, she always manages to write a story that touches me deeply, with characters that are strong but flawed, and where I want to cheer them on, or give them a little push to help them make a decision – the right decision. In My Kind of Wonderful, Bailey and Hudson feel the chemistry between them from the start, but they both decide that acting on that attraction is a […]

Review: Reaver – Larissa Ione

Review: Reaver – Larissa Ione

What can I say? Reaver was an amazing story, with a long trek through Sheoul, lots of innuendos, some nasty angels, good demons and so much intrigue my head was spinning. My Reaver review: I have started reading this series completely out of order, so I may have missed a thing or two – however, as you can see, I still loved Reaver! The writing is so good, and the characters grab your heartstrings from the beginning without ever letting go. There are incredible fights, both verbal and physical, romance, and of course a level of intrigue that is very hard to find. Reaver definitely showed a new side of himself here, especially because he managed to stay calm and […]

Review: Walk Through Fire – Kristen Ashley

Review: Walk Through Fire – Kristen Ashley

Walk Through Fire is yet another huge win from Kristen Ashley! The characters, as always, were amazing, and I loved that the main characters were in the forties, still hot for each other, and so open with their feelings. There were some pretty dark times for them, but lots of light and love as well. My Walk Through Fire review: First of all, let me tell you Kristen Ashley certainly knows how to write the smoking hot sexy scenes! I melted when I was reading about Logan and Millie getting it on, in every way! From the little touches, the looks, the beautiful words Logan said to his old lady, and how explosive they were together. The characters completely made […]
