Safe & Sexy #12 – Provocative

I’ve had the idea for a feature about safe sex for a long time, ever since I had my discussion post with the same name a long time ago! And finally, Safe & Sexy was born. It’s where I will share a quote from a story I have read, and where there is a lot of hotness and sexiness, but where they still take the time to be safe! It’s important to me to read books that make me dream, but I also want them to be somewhat realistic. And to me, characters seem realistic when they take care of themselves and their partner(s)! Safe sex is a great way to do so, and when an author includes a couple of lines to share that they are indeed using condoms, I am such a happy reader. And I think it’s sexy when both new and ‘old’ lovers show that they respect each other by getting that condom, and possibly making using it both safe & sexy, hot and fun.

If you want to participate with your very own Safe & Sexy quotes, go right ahead. The more the merrier, and maybe your quote will help me add a new book to my bloated TBR shelf ๐Ÿ˜‰ One can never have enough books, right? Without further ado, here’s my Safe & Sexy quote for this week, it’s from Provocative. There was a lot going on, and I loved Nick and Faith so much. (I actually went and one-clicked the whole series their’s is a spin-off of…)

Provocative cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews

There are those moments in life that are provocative in their very existences, that embed in our minds forever, and sometimes our very souls. They change us, mold us, maybe even save us. But some are darker, dangerous. If we allow them to, they control us. Seduce us. Quite possibly even destroy us.
The moment I walked into Sonomaโ€™s Reid Winter Winery and Vineyard and made eye contact with Faith Winter for the first time was one of those moments. Provocative because I know at least one of her secrets, of which, I suspect she has many. Provocative because she believes I was a stranger to her when we met, but I am not. Provocative because I sought her out, with no intention of touching her. But now I have. Now I want her. Now I have to have her. But that changes nothing. It doesnโ€™t change why I came for her.

My Safe & Sexy quote:

“Don’t move,” I murmur against her lips, kissing her, a slow lick of tongue against tongue before I release her, standing and removing a condom from my wallet. I tear it open, making sure she hears it, that she knows she doesn’t have to think. I’m protecting her.

I don’t know about you, but I think that quote is red-hot! Both because in the middle of everything, Nick makes sure Faith knows that he’s keeping them both safe, and because he’s doing it in such a sexy, alpha-male way ๐Ÿ˜€

Thanks for stopping by today. Don’t forget to include your Safe & Sexy post in the linky. Have a fantastic Friday and happy reading.

  1. Ok, I read one of Lisa Renee Jones’ books and loved it, now that quote just makes her go on the safe list! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Thanks for sharing another great one, Lexxie!
