Sidekick Showcase - (un)Conventional Bookviews

Sidekick Showcase, previously known as Sidekick Saturday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by Jaclyn at JC’s Book Haven. There are many secondary characters that are as great as the primaries. In some cases, the sidekicks actually steal the show and you like them better than the heroine or hero. Maybe they didn’t have enough page time for how great they were. Anyone can play along! I will post my Sidekicks on Saturday, and so will Jaclyn, then whichever day during the week that you would like to post yours, you can put your link in on Jaclyn’s page. Just do the following:

• Choose a sidekick *or someone other than the hero or heroine* that you would like to put in the spotlight that fits in the week’s topic
• Share a picture (if you can) and information about the character
• Give the title and author of a book the character can be found in
• Please don’t include too many spoilers when describing why the character is such a great sidekick
• The day of your post, put your link in below and grab the code for your post so you can see the others that post their’s throughout the week as well

Sidekick Showcase #18 – Spitfire

There are many great sidekicks I could have chosen as todays spitfire, but I decided stragith away to go with Dani O’Malley from Karen Marie Moning’s Fever series. This series is very hot, and there are several different kinds of fae involved in the storyline. Dani is a young fae-seer, and she also has a special talent. She’s so quick normal people (and fae) can’t see her when she starts speeding up! She’s young, only fourteen, and pretty naive, but she also tells people exactly what she thinks of the world and everyone who lives in it!

From Faefever:

“What the feck?” Dani snapped when I answered. “You sleep like the fecking dead up there! I been calling you for five fecking minutes!”

And unfortunately, because I read these books before I started blogging, I can’t find anymore quotes 🙁 I’m very sorry about that! But Dani is a true spitfire, very naive, always trying to save other people, and she’s hiding a huge secret. Her extreme speed is of great help to her, and possibly saves her life several times. And I love how she consciously says ‘feck’ instead of ‘fuck’ so that she doesn’t really swear…

Who is your spitfire sidekick showcase? I look forward to reading all about it 😉

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a spectacular Saturday and a wonderful weekend.

    • That’s actually pretty funny, because Jaclyn chose Dani as well 😀 I wonder if we’ll get another contender for spitfire today.

Thanks for stopping by Brandee, I’ve had such a great day and evening I don’t want it to end! I hope your day has been splendid as well. *hugs*

  1. Oh my gosh, you, Brandee, and Jaclyn chose the same character. That’s awesome!!! And I haven’t read this series. Is this another one I must, just absolutely must read? I love that she says “feck” too. They said “frak” in one of my favorite shows ever, Battlestar Galatica. I’m going to start saying feck and see how my boys react. I bet you they correct me. Have a great weekend, Lexxie!!

    • I think both the fever series and the spin-off series are great, so definitely should go on your TBR, Robyn! Thanks for stopping by! I hope your weekend is awesome as well!

  2. I have read part of this series..just didn’t like book three at all! I still need to read the last book. Have you read the book based on Dani..ICED..I think it’s called? I was wondering as I heard from some that it was just awful. I was curious as to what you thought of it if you have read it. I do like Dani in the series she is funny.

    • I love the fever series, and I really enjoyed Ice as well. Though after I read some of the less favorable reviews of it, I could totally get where people were coming from with their critique…

Thanks for stopping by Stormi 🙂

    • That’s so cool, Traci! Jaclyn, Brandee and I all chose her for today – which is pretty amazing. We’ve never chosen the same sidekick before 🙂

      Thanks for stopping by 🙂

    • I love it too, Jaclyn, but it’s almost a little scary that we chose her, different quotes and that we hadn’t planned it! It truly does show how awesome Dani really is, though 🙂

      Have a great Sunday! *hugs*

  3. I fecking ADORE Dani as well, fantastic choice^^ I’d say she’s a perfect spitfire ;D Her speed, agility and bravery are pretty impressive as it is, but when you add in her dry humor and sassy attitude, she’s hard to beat ♥ I still need to read Iced though but I long to crack open my copy every time I look at it!

    • Yes, all that and more = the Mega 🙂 I really enjoyed Iced, too, and look forward to the release of Burned. And Fever is one of the few series I’d like to re-read… you know, one day, when I have no other books to read 😉

      Thanks for stopping by, Micheline.
