Stacking The Shelves #61 – BB&B #11
Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews is all about the latest additions to your library – virtual or actual, with books that are bought, borrowed, won or ARCs you will be reading soon. BB&B is a homage to to Barron’s Books and Baubles from Karen Marie Moning’s amazing Fever series, and is hosted by Braine over at Talk Supe.
Netgalley ARCs:
Golden Son (Red Rising Trilogy #2) – Pierce Brown
As a Red, Darrow grew up working the mines deep beneath the surface of Mars, enduring backbreaking labor while dreaming of the better future he was building for his descendants. But the Society he faithfully served was built on lies. Darrow’s kind have been betrayed and denied by their elitist masters, the Golds—and their only path to liberation is revolution. And so Darrow sacrifices himself in the name of the greater good for which Eo, his true love and inspiration, laid down her own life. He becomes a Gold, infiltrating their privileged realm so that he can destroy it from within.
A lamb among wolves in a cruel world, Darrow finds friendship, respect, and even love—but also the wrath of powerful rivals. To wage and win the war that will change humankind’s destiny, Darrow must confront the treachery arrayed against him, overcome his all-too-human desire for retribution—and strive not for violent revolt but a hopeful rebirth. Though the road ahead is fraught with danger and deceit, Darrow must choose to follow Eo’s principles of love and justice to free his people.
He must live for more.
Thank you to Del Rey Spectra and Netgalley for the ARC!

Five Down (Downside Ghosts Anthology) – Stacia Kane
Holiday Abduction (Alien Abduction #6) – Eve Langlais
Vhyl is determined to acquire a certain lost artifact, but when he lands on the forbidden barbarian planet known as Earth, he finds more than expected. An attractive human female is in possession of the priceless object, and she’s agreed to hand it over—for a price.
Apparently she doesn’t know of his reputation…or doesn’t care.
Intrigued by her fearless nature—and her luscious cocoa skin—this acquisition expert can’t resist stealing a kiss. But before he can take more, his enemy arrives to stake a claim.
It seems Vhyl isn’t the only one interested in Jilly’s treasure—and Jilly herself. On the run not only from Earth forces but his enemies too, they must fight to survive and evade capture.
However, he can’t escape the effect the human has on him.
In the end, Vhyl has to make a choice—Jilly or the priceless treasure he came for?

Old Follower 🙂
I keep hoping we’ll get a full Downside Ghosts novel soon, Jessica, and to tide me over, I’m listening to the audio books. The narrator is amazing.
Have a great weekend.
I was thinking of getting Golden Son, but since I didn’t read Red Rising, it means that I have to move Red Rising up on my shelf.
Grace
Yeah, I really think you need to read Red Rising before Golden Son, if not you’d be completely lost, Grace. I loved Red Rising, though! So much!
A few nice reads there… looking forward to your thoughts on them!
Naomi @ Nomi’s Paranormal Palace
Yeah, I look forward to all three, Naomi 🙂
I heard great things about the first one, I really should try the series. But not sure about Langlais… not really attracted by her books. Happy reading!
Yeah, not sure Langlais would be to your liking, Melliane. I love her humor and the way she writes erotica, so I’m totally hooked, though 🙂
Did you enjoy the first Pierce Brown book, then? (Sorry if I missed the review!) I keep wondering about it, the cover is pretty eye catching. Hope you enjoy these books!
Nikki, I absolutely loved Red Rising! It was so well done, and I’m really excited to read Golden Son.
Have a great weekend.
I think I read something from Stacia Kane a while back-the fact that I don’t remember what it was probably isn’t a good sign! Hope you enjoy your books and thanks for visiting!
True, forgetting about books makes them seem… forgettable 😀 Have a great weekend, Chuckles 🙂
I keep meaning to read Red Rising, but I haven’t got around to it yet. I hope you enjoy your new additions! Have a great weekend!

I keep forgetting I have Five Down! I donated towards helping Stacia Kane get it published and in exchange she sent free copies via email. And I forgot! Have you read any yet?
I haven’t read much at all this week for some reason… I have no idea why, I’ve been tired, I guess, and lots of things going on, too.
Awesome haul! I’m thinking of purchasing a copy of Red Rising soon because it sounds so good.
Krystianna @ Downright Dystopian
I can strongly recommend Red Rising, Krystianna! I loved that story so much 🙂 Have a great weekend.

Is Downside done? Gosh I still have to read the last book released and it’s been years!
I don’t think it’s supposed to be over, yet, Braine… But Stacia Kane is a lot less active on her blog than she used to be, I hope she and her family are doing OK!
Five Down looks good. Hope that you enjoy and have a good week.
Congrats big time on diploma
I’m so in love with Downside Ghosts, I can’t wait to dig in 🙂 Thanks for the congrats, Brandi 🙂 Have a fantastic week.
Yay for all your pretties, Lexxie. I know how much you loved Red Rising so I’m glad you scored Golden Son. And I want the Downside Ghosts stories! 😉 I hope you enjoy them all!
How was your weekend? Mine was busy as the girls had a special day-long event at school for band on Saturday. And then yesterday I was away from home celebrating a friend’s birthday. At least the weather was nice. 🙂 Happy Monday, my dear!! **BIG HUGS**
