His restaurant is thriving, she’s got her dream job at Blue Heron Vineyard—it’s the perfect time to get married.
When he pops the question, however, her answer is a fond but firm no. If it ain’t broke, why fix it? Jess has her hands full with her younger brother, who’s now living with her full-time, and a great career after years of waitressing. What she and Connor have is perfect: friends with an excellent benefits package. Besides, with her difficult past (and reputation), she’s positive married life isn’t for her.

The daughter of their former president, she’s not above smashing a few heads to keep her teenage brother safe. But when Cassidy’s big mouth gets her in trouble, the only thing that saves her is some quick thinking from the Brothers’ bartender. He’s commanding and strong, and as smooth as the whiskey he pours: the ultimate temptation for a girl who swore she’d never be a biker’s plaything.
But Thorn Savalas is no ordinary biker. He’s a cop, and he’s worked too hard earning the Brothers’ trust to blow his cover over a female—even one who rocks a pair of jeans like Cassidy. The only way to protect her is by claiming she’s his old lady. Trouble is, Thorn can’t just pretend. He wants Cassidy, and every scorching touch tells him she feels the same. But acting on their hottest fantasies could leave them both exposed . . . even if nothing else has ever felt so real.

Uncivilized cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews

Uncivilized by Sawyer Bennett

Savage man, loner, warrior… I am dangerous at my core. I have lived amidst the untamed wild of the rainforest, in a society that reveres me and where every woman falls before me in subjugation.
Now I’ve been discovered. Forced to return to a world that I have forgotten about and to a culture that is only vaguely familiar to my senses.
Dr. Moira Reed is an anthropologist who has been hired to help me transition back into modern society. It’s her job to smooth away my rough edges… to teach me how to navigate properly through this new life of mine. She wants to tame me.
She’ll never win.
I am wild, free and raw, and the only thing I want from the beautiful Moira Reed is to fuck her into submission.
She wants it, I am certain.
I will give it to her soon.
Yes, very soon, I will become the teacher and she will become my student. And when I am finished showing her body pleasure like no other, she’ll know what it feels like to be claimed by an uncivilized man.

The Paris Effect cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews

The Paris Effect by K.S.R. Burns

A suspenseful, moving and at times hilarious novel about love, loss, Paris, food and finding yourself. Amy is 29, tired of living in her hometown of Phoenix, and at odds with her very predictable engineer husband. When her closest girlfriend dies she makes a spectacularly rash decision that takes her to Paris, her dream city. (But maybe not the best destination, as Amy is always on a diet and is plagued by irksome dieting “rules.”) In Paris she is robbed, stalked, arrested, kidnapped (almost!) and—worse—finds that her problems have come right along with her. Grab a croissant and settle in for a decidedly non-touristy trip to the City of Light. P.S. This novel is great for book groups.

Frozen Dreams cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews

Frozen Dreams by Cori Williams

My life was perfect. I had everything I wanted, including the love of a man that intended to make all of my dreams come true.
Until…
“…the night my life as I knew it ended.”
In the blink of an eye, all I’d once known was ripped away. Suffering in limbo, full of fear and regret, I had only memories and dreams to comfort me, urging me to fight.
“…marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled…”
But they stole it all.
Awakened to betrayal and pain, I struggle to find a new beginning. Yet the past seeps in, pulling me under. No matter how hard I try to keep my head above water, it threatens to ruin me.
How can I really live with my hopes for the future still frozen? And if the ice thaws, will I have the courage to build new dreams?

  3. Omigoodness!! You managed a great haul this week, Lexxie. I’m rather jealous! 😉 I was going to list the ones that I’m most jealous of but then I realized that I’d pretty much like to read every single one of them. *ha* I got November 9 in paperback (apparently I’m a lucky one since retailers are now out of stock) but didn’t include it in my post because I didn’t have it when I prepared the post. 😉
I hope you’ll have a wonderful weekend, my dear. Ours is full of honor band/orchestra performances and celebrating Berk’s b-day a few days early. Miss you! **BIG HUGS**
