Stacking The Shelves #79 – BB&B #29

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews is all about the latest additions to your library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  you will be reading soon. BB&B is a homage to to Barron’s Books and Baubles from Karen Marie Moning’s amazing Fever series, and is hosted by Braine over at Talk Supe.

ARCs received from author:

Seduced cover - (un)Conventional BookviewsSeduced (Undercover #1) – Helena Newbury

I am out of my depth.
Yesterday, I was just a CIA languages geek, safe behind a desk. I thought I wanted a taste of the action.
Then I met him. Luka. Arms dealer. Russian mafia. A man who’ll kill to get what he wants. And he wants me.
Now I’m on a plane to Moscow with orders to “accidentally” run into him again. Seduce him. Sleep with him.
I can’t control myself when I’m near him.
And if he finds out who I really am, I’m dead.

Conflicted cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews

Conflicted (Undercover #2) – Helena Newbury

Part 2 in the New Adult Romantic Suspense serial, “Undercover.”

I’ve become the girlfriend of one of the most dangerous men in Russia.

Everyone tells me he’s a monster. But I’ve glimpsed the man underneath. The one who might just be able to heal my pain.

I try to remember who I am. Where my loyalties lie.

I try to convince myself I’m not falling for him.

Betrayed cover - (un)Conventional BookviewsBetrayed (Undercover #3) – Helena Newbury

The final part of the New Adult Romantic Suspense serial, “Undercover.”

I have to choose between saving him and saving us.

Everything seemed so simple back in the US. He was the bad guy. I was going to stop him.

Then I saw the evil he does…and the good inside him.

Now they’re asking me to do the unthinkable.

And no matter which side I betray, I’m going to lose him forever.

Kindle Purchases:

Tempest Raging cover - (un)Conventional BookviewsTempest Raging – Michelle Mankin

Brandee made me one-click this boxed set, as it was only $1.99

Four bestselling full length novels.
An all access backstage pass to the world’s most dysfunctional rock band.
Tempest rocking.
Tempest rolling.
Tempest raging out of control.

And here are three I received last week, but due to no internet, I couldn’t change my already prepared STS / BB&B post, nor actually receive these on my kindle:

Instinct cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews

Instinct (Chronicles of Nick #6) – Sherrilyn Kenyon

Zombies, demons, vampires, shapeshifters— another day in the life of Nick Gautier– and those are just his friends. But now that he’s accepted the demon that lives inside him, he must learn to control it and temper the very emotions that threaten the lives of everyone he cares for. Something that’s hard to do while trying to stay off the menus of those who want his head on a platter. And no one wants him more than the dark gods who created his race. Now that they know where he is, they will stop at nothing to reclaim him. And without knowing it, Nick has just embraced the one person he should never have trusted. The one person who will hand him over to his enemies to get back the life they lost.
Nick has finally accepted his fate, now he must learn to defy his destiny, and the dark, deadly forces that will stop at nothing to destroy everyone he loves so that they can again return to the world of man and own it.

Sisters of Blood and Spirit cover - (un)Conventional BookviewsSisters of Blood and Spirit (Sisters of Blood and Spirit #1) – Kady Cross

Wren Noble is dead—she was born that way. Vibrant, unlike other dead things, she craves those rare moments when her twin sister allows her to step inside her body and experience the world of the living.
Lark Noble is alive but often feels she belongs in the muted Shadow Lands—the realm of the dead. Known as the crazy girl who talks to her dead sister, she doesn’t exactly fit in with the living, though a recent suicide attempt and time in a psych ward have proved to her she’s not ready to join her sister in the afterlife.
Now the guy who saved Lark’s life needs her to repay the favor. He and his friends have been marked for death by the malevolent spirit of a vicious and long-dead serial killer, and the twins—who should know better than to mess with the dead—may be their only hope of staying alive.

The Shadows cover - (un)Conventional BookviewsThe Shadows (Black Dagger Brotherhood #13) – J.R. Ward

Trez “Latimer” doesn’t really exist. And not just because the identity was created so that a Shadow could function in the underbelly of the human world. Sold by his parents to the Queen of the S’Hsibe as a child, Trez escaped the Territory and has been a pimp and an enforcer in Caldwell, NY for years- all the while on the run from a destiny of sexual servitude. He’s never had anyone he could totally rely on… except for his brother, iAm.
iAm’s sole goal has always been to keep his brother from self-destructing- and he knows he’s failed. It’s not until the Chosen Serena enters Trez’s life that the male begins to turn things around… but by then it’s too late. The pledge to mate the Queen’s daughter comes due and there is nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, and no negotiating.
Trapped between his heart and a fate he never volunteered for, Trez must decide whether to endanger himself and others- or forever leave behind the female he’s in love with. But then an unimaginable tragedy strikes and changes everything. Staring out over an emotional abyss, Trez must find a reason to go on or risk losing himself and his soul forever. And iAm, in the name of brotherly love, is faced with making the ultimate sacrifice…

The nicest thing is that now, my kindle looks like this – aren’t those covers just very enticing all together like this?

    • Internet issues makes me feel like I’m in the stone-age… I hope your issues are solved now, Grace. I’m glad you enjoyed Sisters of Blood and Spirit, I’ve been curious about that one for a long time!
      Have a great weekend 🙂

  1. Marilyn Phillips

Mmm… I’m loving all those yummy covers. Hope you enjoy all your new books and have a great weekend.

  2. One thing that really puts me off a book is having half naked models on the cover, whether it is male or female! I’m guessing these will not be my kind of read! *grins* Hope you have fun with all your books when you get a chance to read them!

    • They actually released in late March, Brandee, so you could get them straight away 😉 And yes, you definitely made me do it!!
We came back yesterday, I didn’t want the weekend traffic, as I was alone with the two youngest in the car… no need to spend more time driving than absolutely necessary. I have graded half the papers already, and the grades are really good! I’m amazed 🙂
31 more days!!! That’s amazing, Brandee. *BIG HUGS*
