The Sunday Post #17 – Weekly Wrap-up
Welcome to my weekly wrap-up post. Thank you toย Kimba over at The Caffeinated Reviewer, who is hosting this weekly event. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere. My new Sunday Post logo is made by Silvia @ Darkest Sins, and I’m loving it ๐
This week has been pretty amazing! I’ve been busy substitute teaching, and I also got a call to substitute until summer for a class in senior high, while their teacher is on maternity leave. I’m so happy about that, not only is it senior high, so their level of English (I teach English as foreign language) will be quite good, but the school is only about a five minute walk from my house. Also, Stormi and I launched the 2015 New Release Challenge, and I hope we’ll get lots of bloggers signing up for it ๐ On top of that, I launched my brand new weekly meme Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts – a place to share something the characters you read about ate or drank, you can choose either something you’d like to try, or something you’d never ever want to taste.

The Social Potato has a post about the Potato Awards 2014, there are lots of great books mentioned, be careful, you might need a new crane for your Mt. TBR.

Yay, on your subbing job! I hope you really enjoy it and get some good experience. ๐ I see we have eight people including ourselves signed up for our challenge..not to bad considering we got started late. ๐
Thank you Stormi ๐ I’m really happy about that, both because I’ll finally be able to teach, and because it’s a nice way to ease into the profession ๐
True, our challenge is not doing bad at all ๐ And who knows how it will pick up before the middle of March ๐

That is awesome about the long term sub job and wow you cannot ask for a better commute! Off to check out your Thirsty Thursday.
Yeah, I’m elated about the job, both because I look forward to know where I’ll work for the next few months, and because it’s so close to home I can have lunch here rather than at school ๐
Happy reading.
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today ๐ I really recommend the book “Det frosten tok”, and I hope you get to read it. It really hit me right in the heart ๐ I wish you a wonderful sundayโ
I need to go visit digitalbok ๐ Thanks for stopping by, Anette!
The social potato ? Didn’t know that existed but love the name ! What wouldn’t I give to be at a 5mn walk from my job… and I’m glad you’re enjoying it ๐ Have a great week, Lexxie :-*
The Social Potato is also a book-blog, and they’re really funny ๐ Have a great week yourself, Iza.
Congrats with that new substitute teaching job you got, it sounds nice with the whole advanced english level and only a 5 minute walk to get there. And yay I am so happy you decided to host the 2015 new releases challenge, I am really looking forward to see how many new releases I can read this year :). And I hope to participate in your hungry hearts meme soon, but I keep forgetting to pay attention to food and drinks or they aren’t really interesting enough to feature. You had a busy week on the blog! Have a great week and enjoy what’s left of the weekend ๐
I’m very happy you’ve signed up for the New Release Challenge, Lola, Stormi and I were a little afraid it would only be the two of us ๐
I have worked on preparing my lessons for next week, and I think I’m all set.
Have a great week yourself.
What great news about the long term job so close to home! Sounds perfect. And what a productive week. These days I am happy if I get one review a week done :-/ Have a great week!
Thank you, Melissa, I’m so happy about the job ๐ I only have one review scheduled for next week, I have to hurry up and start writing ๐
Thanks for stopping by. Have a fantastic week.
Yeah for your substitute job! Sounds like you’ll have some steady work and so close to home. Love your new Sunday Post Banner and I’ll check out your reading challenge. Already doing three but I figured I’d add one or two more.
Have a wonderful week!
I’m so happy about the job, Laura! Both because I’ll be teaching a grade I would like, and because it’s so close to home. Also, the hours I’ll have still permit me to finish my own degree ๐
I look forward to seeing your sign-up post, too. Have a fantastic week.
Yay on the long term sub job and the great location! How exciting! I can’t imagine teaching a 2nd language. I’ve always had the biggest mental block when it comes to other languages and have never been able to really do well at them. I know enough French to understand Agatha Christie’s Poiort but that’s about it. Have a great week!
I speak several languages, and English is not my first language, so teaching it to French-speaking kids who have learned German first should be OK ๐
I love Poirot! He’s made of awesome. Thanks for stopping by, Katherine!
Oh god, I can’t go and read your reviews yet — I haven’t gotten around to Burned or Night’s Dark Embrace yet. Agh!
I hope you’ll be able to get to them soon, Liza ๐ Thanks for stopping by.
The new job sounds great! Who doesn’t love a shorter commute and more interesting students…IMO.
The Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts meme sounds good…I’ll be checking it out!
Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
Yeah, both the fact that it’s long-term instead of going to a different school each time I teach, and that it’s so close to home is a big bonus, Laurel-Rain ๐
Thanks for stopping by.
Congrats on the job and the new releases challenge sounds fun Ill have to sign up!! Sounds Like you had a fun reading week!! here is my weekly recap!!
Thanks, Elizabeth ๐ I look forward to seeing you on the New Release Challenge ๐

YAY! about the job that is awesome and I love that it is so close to your house. I use to have a job like that and it’s wonderful ๐
I am so excited for your challenge, I have read two books so far that work with it and I plan to read a lot more. I love your new meme I am not sure I have stuff that qualifies for it but I will see if maybe I can join once in a while ๐
Have a great week, Lexxie! oxox
Yeah, it’s nice to be able to walk to that school, as Uni is a little farther away ๐ I’m really looking forward to getting started properly tomorrow.
I’m excited about the challenge, too, and it’s great that you’ve signed up with us, Michelle ๐ I’m sure it will make me add ever more books to my shelves, but that’s oK ๐
I hope to see you on the Thirsty Thursday meme, too, it is fun to notice something different in books, and some have really delicious food in them.
Have a great week yourself!
Oh, yay for the sub job! ๐ I need to go check out Thirsty Thurs & Hungry Hearts. In all the books I’ve ever read I have yet to see a character eat Rocky Mountain Oysters and yet those are something I’ve actually tried. LOL I guess I’m more ‘ballsy’ than all these Alpha guys I’ve read about. hehehe
Yeah, I notice both the yummy food and the yucky food in the books I’m reading, and I just wanted to share that as well ๐ I hope you’ll join me!
Congrats on your teaching job! I used to substitute teach myself and always found it to be such a fun experience. I’m really looking forward to Rachel Vincent’s new spinoff series. I never finished the Pride series so I’m hoping to get back to them soon. Have a great week!!
Thanks, Samantha! I’m very happy about it ๐ I look forward to completing my own education so I can become a full-fledged teacher in a few years.
Have a great week yourself, thanks for stopping by.
Congrats on your new substituting job! I’m glad that you’re enjoying teaching!
Thanks, Ronyell ๐ Have a great week!
Yay for the job, congrats! Even better that it’s close to home.
Love the new logo, looks great and the weekly meme sounds interesting. I’ll have to keep a look out for that in my next book.
Have a great week.
Thanks, Sharon. I’m so happy about it – especially because it’s my first long-term job teaching, and I’ve been wanting to teach my own class for a while.
Have a fantastic Friday.
The sub job is awesome! Congrats! ๐ I love the new meme Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts , I will go and check it out! a
I hope to see your participation in the Thirsty Thursday meme, Tonyalee ๐ Thanks for stopping by.
I hope your week of teaching has gone well, Lexxie. I’m so excited that you’re finally getting the opportunity to do what you’ve been studying to do!
*big hugs*
My first full week of teaching has been awesome, Brandee! I love it, and the students are really nice, too. They work hard, and participate in class, they’re a teacher’s dream ๐
*BIG HUGS*
