The Sunday Post #83 – Weekly Wrap-up
Welcome to my Sunday Post. Thank you to Kimba over at The Caffeinated Reviewer, who is hosting this weekly event. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.
If you follow me on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter, you must have seen all the photos I’ve posted everywhere to share all the fun and shenanigans from BEA this week. I had a total blast. So much fun to spend time with fellow bloggers in real life, to chat about books, stand in lines, meet authors and just hang out. And I have to say, even if I’m elated to have met several authors I admire, and gotten a lot of books I can’t wait to read, my favorite moments were those I spent with bloggers. They are all even more amazing in real life than they are online, and we shared many laughs, bookish moments and we all fangirled together over our favorite authors who were in attendance.
The Chicago weather didn’t cooperate as much as it could have – but we did spend most of our days inside of the convention hall, so that was quite all right. Between high tea at the Drake, Champagne tasting, great food, pizza and making new memories, there was also a lot of waling every day! I reached over 10’000 steps every day, and that doesn’t really happen that often. Here are some pictures that can also be found on my Facebook profile, too, if you want to know more about what I was up to at BEA 🙂
After the first day of BEA, Brandee (my now Blogger-wife) from Bookworm Brandee and her friend Denise took me to see a baseball game – they popped my cherry, as there is no baseball in Europe… – and that was a lot of fun, too!
It was really, really sad to say goodbye to all the other bloggers, who left for home yesterday, while I’m only leaving this evening. But my head and my heart are full of new, wonderful memories made with friends I hope I will be able to meet again very soon! Our last evening together was on Friday the 13th… when we went for some Mexican so we had a good excuse to have some margaritas 😉

I haven’t been online, so I haven’t visited any blogs at all this week, that will change once I get back home tomorrow, though, once I have spent some time hugging my husband, the children and Freddy 🙂
What have you been up to this past week? Don’t forget to leave me a link so I can come visit your Sunday Post as well.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’ve enjoyed your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!
I’ve enjoyed following your time at BEA through your pictures. And look at that, you got to see my favorite sport. 🙂 Glad it was fun and thanks for sharing, Lexxie!
It was such an amazing time, Sophia Rose! I loved spending the week with blogger-friends, both new and old. We had a great time 🙂
I’ve been following your adventures. So jealous.
I hope one day, you will be on my pictures from a con, Jennifer!

Bloggers are made of amazing, Kristen! And it was really great to meet up with them all, both those I had already met in real life, and those I had only been hanging out with online so far.
I am so happy to hear BEA went so well for you guys. I have to admit, I was a little bit envious of all the meet-ups – bookworms having dinner and drinks, how can I not be? 🙂 But I’m glad you were able to make some great memories.
I hope you have a safe flight back home!
It was great, Nick! I hope that one day, I’ll be able to hang out with all of my blogger friends. And I understand being a bit envious, as I used to do the ArmchairBEA before, wishing I could actually be there for real.
I am so so jealous you got to go! THank you for the updates!!
I’m not so sure I’ll be able to make it another year… so I’m very happy I was able to make it this year 🙂
I’ve loved seeing all your photos. Looks like you had an amazing time and it has made me determined to make it next year! Enjoy all your new books!
Book conventions are really a lot of fun, Trish!! Thanks for stopping by.

It was so great, Grace! All my favorite bloggers are even nicer in person than they are online! And the baseball game was fun 🙂 Have a great week yourself.
I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed BEA!! Sorry the weather wasn’t great though. Have a great week!
Good thing most of our days were spent inside the convention center 😀
It looks like you had tons of fun at BEA!
It was awesome, Shandy!
I wish I could’ve been there, it sounds like you had an amazing time and I can imagine it should be fun to meet people you only know online in real life. Oh and you got to meet Jill Shalvis! I am looking forward that new book! And indeed we don’t have baseball like that over here, it sounds fun to visit a game! I hope you have a great week!
It was amazing, Lola! I hope you’ll be able to meet up with other bloggers one day, too! We really had a lot of fun. And yes! Jill Shalvis <3 Have a great week yourself.
I’ve been eagerly watching your adventure unfold on facebook/instagram. It looks like you had an amazing time. I’ve always enjoyed baseball games but they are more fun than watching on tv imo. I’m so excited to hear what you think of your new books. Have a safe trip home!!!!! Maybe next time I’ll get to meet you.
I had never seen a baseball game even on TV before, so it was definitely fun to see one for real! I’m glad you enjoyed my pictures, too, because I loved spending time with bloggers and share what was going on 🙂
I definitely hope we’ll meet one day, Mandy!
I enjoyed following along! I’m glad to hear you had a great time!! 🙂

Here’s my Sunday Post.
Thanks Lillian 🙂 I got home alright, and am still jet-lagged, so I have trouble keeping up with everything.
What a fabulous week you had! I am so glad you got to experience some new things (baseball), and I’ve heard great things about Chicago pizza. I hope you’ll keep that wonderful glow in the weeks ahead.
Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES , with no BEA, just ordinary life.
It was a fantastic week, Laurel-Rain 🙂 Bloggers are the very, very best 🙂
Glad you had such a good time, and Chicago is a fun town. Thanks for sharing the pics! I always feel a little let down after a convention and I imagine it’s the same with BEA. Have a super week…
Chicago is a great town! There’s definitely a lot gong on there. And you’re right, I felt so sad and melancholy on Sunday – still in Chicago, but without all my peeps 🙁 It was really great to get to meet everyone in person, though, so I’ll hang on to that.
It looks like you had a blast! That’s fantastic. I’m glad you had such a good time visiting Chicago and meeting bloggers. Some of my best moments were running into bloggers and seeing people in person. I went to the BEA Blogger Dinner Friday night which was a ton of fun. 🙂
-Lauren
I agree, blogger meetings were the best! I didn’t make it to the Blogger dinner, maybe another time 🙂
What great photos! I love them! I hope I can go next year and enjoy the friends and fun!!
We had so much fun, Charlie! And I really hope you’ll be able to go one day, too, so you can hang out with bloggers in real life 🙂

I love the posts. I hope that we can meet up next year. I’m hearing a lot of people talk Atlanta, so maybe I’ll go back to RT.
I definitely want to go to Atlanta for RT next year, Melanie, and I hope you’ll be able to go, too! I missed you last week 🙂
Oh Lexxie, I was very envious and loved seeing some pics etc… It looks like you had an amazing time and I’m sure meeting other book bloggers IN PERSON was a huge highlight!
Happy travels home!
Meeting all the bloggers in person was amazing 🙂 It just cemented my strong feelings about them from interacting online 🙂
I’m glad to hear you had such a great time! Chicago is a lot of fun. It was great being able to meet you at the blogger conference. You did a great co-facilitating the round table.
I agree, it was fun to see you at blogger con, but I was kind of sad we didn’t manage to cross paths again after that! I hope you had a great week, too!

I enjoyed hanging out with you too! I was so sad to leave all my blogging friends but like you said we got some wonderful new memories. 🙂
Enjoy all those new books you got!!! 🙂
I wish we could go for high tea once a month, Stormi 🙂 I have already started enjoying my new books 😀
Twitter: bmreviewsohmy
I wasn’t that fond of the tea, but the food was cool, I would go for the food…lol. I am getting started on the one that Michelle brought me then I have my eyes on a couple from BEA…lol.
LOL, Stormi 🙂 I can’t remember which tea you chose, but the food was good, right? I look forward to seeing which BEA books you’ll start with.
I’ve never been to a convention, or thought I would want to go to one, but all of the photos on everyone’s blogs are making me think I might like to someday if there is ever one over here in the west.

Conventions, and meeting booklovers in person, are awesome! It was just great to hang out with fellow bloggers and chat about books, books, books 🙂 I hope you’ll be able to find one you can participate in one day!

You got some great pictures from BEA. I walked over 10,000 steps each day of BEA, too. It was a crazy amount of walking, but so worth it. It was so cool to meet you in person, you were one of the highlights of my trip.
I agree, the walking was definitely worth it! And meeting you was one of my trip’s highlights, too 🙂 It was nice to run into you, hug, chat for a while and continue searching for that place we were going to 😀
Awww Lexxie, I LOVED living vicariously through your pictures as you posted them. Sounds like you had a BLAST and I’m so happy for you 😀 Bloggers really are THE BEST part of BEA, even though meeting authors (our rock stars after all) and the books are a nice touch too 😉 Thanks for sharing^^xx
YAY, Bloggers!! You already know all that – and I’m very sad you couldn’t make it this year, I would have loved meeting you Micheline.
Sounds like you had a lovely time, I can’t wait to be able to go myself one day. Friday the 13th was my final deadline at university – how terrifying.
