The Sunday Post #83 – Weekly Wrap-up

Welcome to my Sunday Post. Thank you to Kimba over at The Caffeinated Reviewer, who is hosting this weekly event. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

If you follow me on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter, you must have seen all the photos I’ve posted everywhere to share all the fun and shenanigans from BEA this week. I had a total blast. So much fun to spend time with fellow bloggers in real life, to chat about books, stand in lines, meet authors and just hang out. And I have to say, even if I’m elated to have met several authors I admire, and gotten a lot of books I can’t wait to read, my favorite moments were those I spent with bloggers. They are all even more amazing in real life than they are online, and we shared many laughs, bookish moments and we all fangirled together over our favorite authors who were in attendance.

The Chicago weather didn’t cooperate as much as it could have – but we did spend most of our days inside of the convention hall, so that was quite all right. Between high tea at the Drake, Champagne tasting, great food, pizza and making new memories, there was also a lot of waling every day! I reached over 10’000 steps every day, and that doesn’t really happen that often. Here are some pictures that can also be found on my Facebook profile, too,  if you want to know more about what I was up to at BEA 🙂

After the first day of BEA, Brandee (my now Blogger-wife) from Bookworm Brandee and her friend Denise took me to see a baseball game – they popped my cherry, as there is no baseball in Europe… – and that was a lot of fun, too!

It was really, really sad to say goodbye to all the other bloggers, who left for home yesterday, while I’m only leaving this evening. But my head and my heart are full of new, wonderful memories made with friends I hope I will be able to meet again very soon! Our last evening together was on Friday the 13th… when we went for some Mexican so we had a good excuse to have some margaritas 😉

  1. I’ve enjoyed following your time at BEA through your pictures. And look at that, you got to see my favorite sport. 🙂 Glad it was fun and thanks for sharing, Lexxie!

  2. I am so happy to hear BEA went so well for you guys. I have to admit, I was a little bit envious of all the meet-ups – bookworms having dinner and drinks, how can I not be? 🙂 But I’m glad you were able to make some great memories.
I hope you have a safe flight back home!

    • It was great, Nick! I hope that one day, I’ll be able to hang out with all of my blogger friends. And I understand being a bit envious, as I used to do the ArmchairBEA before, wishing I could actually be there for real.

  3. I wish I could’ve been there, it sounds like you had an amazing time and I can imagine it should be fun to meet people you only know online in real life. Oh and you got to meet Jill Shalvis! I am looking forward that new book! And indeed we don’t have baseball like that over here, it sounds fun to visit a game! I hope you have a great week!

  4. I’ve been eagerly watching your adventure unfold on facebook/instagram. It looks like you had an amazing time. I’ve always enjoyed baseball games but they are more fun than watching on tv imo. I’m so excited to hear what you think of your new books. Have a safe trip home!!!!! Maybe next time I’ll get to meet you.

    • I had never seen a baseball game even on TV before, so it was definitely fun to see one for real! I’m glad you enjoyed my pictures, too, because I loved spending time with bloggers and share what was going on 🙂
I definitely hope we’ll meet one day, Mandy!

  5. I had to much fun! It was so awesome to finally meet you and give you a big hug! I already miss you, even scot said he will miss everyone! Mexican was so fun, sorry I kept you all awake with my bat story 🙂

  6. What a fabulous week you had! I am so glad you got to experience some new things (baseball), and I’ve heard great things about Chicago pizza. I hope you’ll keep that wonderful glow in the weeks ahead.

Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES , with no BEA, just ordinary life.

  7. Glad you had such a good time, and Chicago is a fun town. Thanks for sharing the pics! I always feel a little let down after a convention and I imagine it’s the same with BEA. Have a super week…

    • Chicago is a great town! There’s definitely a lot gong on there. And you’re right, I felt so sad and melancholy on Sunday – still in Chicago, but without all my peeps 🙁 It was really great to get to meet everyone in person, though, so I’ll hang on to that.

  8. It looks like you had a blast! That’s fantastic. I’m glad you had such a good time visiting Chicago and meeting bloggers. Some of my best moments were running into bloggers and seeing people in person. I went to the BEA Blogger Dinner Friday night which was a ton of fun. 🙂

  14. You got some great pictures from BEA. I walked over 10,000 steps each day of BEA, too. It was a crazy amount of walking, but so worth it. It was so cool to meet you in person, you were one of the highlights of my trip.

  15. Awww Lexxie, I LOVED living vicariously through your pictures as you posted them. Sounds like you had a BLAST and I’m so happy for you 😀 Bloggers really are THE BEST part of BEA, even though meeting authors (our rock stars after all) and the books are a nice touch too 😉 Thanks for sharing^^xx
