Tangle of Need is the story about Adria, the strong soldier in the pack, and Riaz, the lone wolf. When Riaz comes back home, he has a little trouble at first being around other people again, even if he has a strong attraction towards Adria. Adria trusts noone, especially not a strong alpha-male like Riaz, who is at risk of becoming an actual lone wolf if he listens only to his instincts.

Tangle of Need left me in a tangle of confusion! I am not completely sure how I feel about this instalment.  It took me several days to read, which is not usual for me, and I felt less connected with the characters as well.  The story was really filler material, nothing really important happened, there was no huge show-down between the changelings and their enemies, and the great love story of Riaz and Adria didn’t hit me in the gut like most of the other couples have. I thought that both Riaz and Adria seemed pretty shallow and juvenile, which is strange when you think about what their position in the pack is.

I think my main criticism is that both Riaz and Adria had been through heart ache before, and they had both really grown from it.  However, they really didn’t trust each other or themselves in order to make their new relationship move forward.  They acted like teenagers who are insecure and afraid of a first relationship, whereas they should have both been happy they actually got a second chance.

Sienna and Hawke made a lot more sense in Tangle of Need than Riaz and Adria did, even if Sienna and Hawke were not the main couple in this story.  I love the Psy-Changeling series, though, but what I have loved so much in past books felt a little lacking in this one.  I wanted more of the romance and more of the fights.  The romance was there, but kind of on the back burner.  And the fights were only alluded to, and built up the expectations to the next book in the series.
