The Sunday Post # – Weekly Wrap-up
Welcome to my Sunday Post. Thank you to Kimba over at The Caffeinated Reviewer, who is hosting this weekly event. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.
I haven’t been very good at visiting other blogs this week, sorry about that! But when I haven’t been at the beach with my daughter, I have been reading research and writing my second paper that is actually due on Monday. I am almost finished now. The paper is about the function of love triangles in YA dystopias, and I am comparing to how love triangles worked in medieval poems… It may be a very big task, but it’s a lot of fun, too… at least it will hopefully feel like fun once it’s behind me 😉

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’ve enjoyed your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!
I hope you got your paper done Lexxie. I’m sure it’ll be great!
And it’s also great you got to head to the beach as well… a nice balance there!
Deb
Not completely done yet, but by tomorrow this time, I should have it all wrapped up 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, Deb.
Whew! I bet you’re glad you got that paper finished! That has to be a stress reliever for sure and kudos on such an awesome topic to write about! Ah…if only I could make my way to your neck of the woods for a quick beach visit, all would be so right in life. (lol) I think most of us regulars are falling behind with Blog visits these days. I haven’t been seeing my normal buddies, and I haven’t had the time either to visit like I normally do. Seems like a mix of the summer, more blogger visits, work and family time. I hope to catch up soon myself. Happy Sunday! Ro
It’s actually not completely finished yet… I need a few more pages, but I also need some time to think, relax and spend time with my daughter. I’m glad you think the topic is good!
Can you imagine how much fun we could have on a beach visit together, Ro? That would be great 🙂 And I have to say I’m glad I’m not the only one lagging when it comes to visiting other blogs these days.

I’m so jealous you take a lot of vacations! And they are sound so fun! You make me wish I lived in Europe ..just hop on over to another country! 🙂 I remember when I visited Germany that I didn’t want to leave…lol. Sounds like you are having fun with your daughter. 🙂
Hope you have a great week!
Stormi
It’s the same vacation still, Stormi… and I’m indeed very lucky because we have our apartment here, close to the sea, and I can stay and both work and play 🙂
Your paper sounds interesting, what an interesting idea. Good luck with it- and enjoy the beach time. Glad you’re haing a good vacation. 🙂
Thanks, Greg 🙂 It’s really nice to be able to stay so long away from the city, even if I do have to get some work done as well.

Good Luck with your paper, it sounds very interesting, you should make it a blog post 🙂
I loved your beach picture and how awesome that you can sit and enjoy that. Yesterday we went to the pool and I realized how luck we are to have such a great place to go in the summer! I am glad you are enjoying your time with your little one. I am off to go on vacation now 🙂 just couldn’t not come by to visit.
Have a great week, Lexxie! Happy Reading! ox
Thanks, Michelle! It would be a very long blog-post,though, because my paper has to be 10-12 pages long, with research, articles, and quotes as well 🙂 I am having some fun with it though, and if my professors enjoy it, it could become my MA thesis paper… even if I plan on doing that on something to do with teaching foreign languages.
That actually sounds like an interesting paper to research, I love YA dystopia … I’ve no doubt about the hard work but nice that it’s also fun. And yay for beach time! I’m so behind on Nalini Singh books … *sigh* oh for more hours in a day. Have a great week and happy reading 🙂
I love YA dystopia, too… I just hope my professor does as well 😉 It was difficult to find academic papers pertaining to my subject matter, but it was great anyway!
Thanks for stopping by!
That’s a really interesting topic for a paper. I have to write tons of papers for my master’s degree program, and I always have a difficult time coming up with topics.
I know how you feel, Aj, I’m working on my MA too, but because I’ve done a seminar called romance remediation, where love triangles were very much present, I figured I could do that with a much more contemporary angle. I hope my professor will agree 😀
Thanks for stopping by!
Love triangles and medieval poems…that sounds so fascinating, especially since I like anything related to history. Hope you have had a good week!!
Thanks Renee… I am focusing more on the Shatter Me series (which is the one I picked, because the love triangle gives so much agency to Juliette – from being in her cell to having two boys fight for her)… but I did say something about love triangles and how they are present in all narratives that are known to us know.
Have a great week yourself!
beach… paper… beach… paper… I don’t know. It’s a toss up on which one I’d choose (BEACH!!). It’s awesome though that you have such an interesting topic for your paper. That makes it so much easier to do, I’m sure. Good luck on it this week!
Thanks Kristin. I’m ecstatic to have finished my paper now… and I hope my professor will appreciate my efforts 😉
Have a great week and thanks for stopping by.
Your paper sounds really cool! That actually may be a better read than some of the love triangles I’ve read, lol. Good luck!
LOL Jenny. I think the love triangle I chose for my paper is one that actually works pretty well. Thanks for stopping by.

Good luck with the paper and oooh I love your topic..I want to read it 🙂
I think that I might just post my paper here if my professor thinks it’s any good. If not, I’m just going to go and hide under a rock for a while… Thanks for stopping by!
Sounds like you had a nice and productive week. Good Luck with finishing your paper! Sounds like an interesting topic, I am curious what your conclusion wil be. I have read quite some dystopia’s with love triangles, it sure seems to be a genre with lots of them.
Yeah, it ended up being busier than anticipated, Lola, but it was still a good week. Thanks for stopping by!!
Your paper sounds really interesting and I hope you would post it. Love triangles seem to be a sure thing in YA dystopian and it can be irritating. This is a great topic you have chosen. Have a great week!
I’m still debating about posting it here, Kathy. If my professor enjoys it, I just might 😉
That sounds like a fascinating paper your writing. Hope the research is fun too.
The research was actually quite difficult! There are very few academic papers on YA literature, and even fewer about love triangles in YA literature. I did have a good time writing it, though, and I’m happy I’ve finished!
Good reason for not visiting! That sounds like an interesting comparison; good luck getting it finished.
Thanks, Bea! I got it sent to my professor with about ten hours advance on the deadline… that’s OK, though, isn’t it? 😉
Nothing cab beat some mom-daughter time at the beach! Wow that is a great topic for your paper Lexxie! Good luck! I hope you can share some of it here on your blog! Would love to read it!
It seems my topic is interesting for more than just me… Maybe I will post it later, but there’s a lot of quotes from articles etc, so it might be a little bit dry to have on the blog, we shall see 🙂 Thanks for stopping by.
Paper sounds interesting but still a lot of research and writing! Hope it goes well. I loved Shards of Hope, and see you loved it too. I want to try one of the angels books by J R Ward at some point. Have a great reading week.
Thank Kathryn. It’s all sent off, now, and I’m happy I still have a few weeks left before school, work and uni start once more 🙂 Ward’s angels are quite different from your ‘normal’ angels in literature, Kathryn… Thanks for stopping by, have a great reading week yourself.
Wow, your paper sounds incredible, well done you!
I hope you are still having a fab time and I am not jealous at all about your beach time!!!
Thanks, Heather. I hope my professor will agree with you 😉
Good luck with your paper Lexie. I can understand hanging at the beach instead of visiting us! Happens at times!
Naomi @ Naomi’s Reading Palace
Thanks, Naomi 🙂 It’s sent off, and I hope my professors will agree with my arguments enough that I’ll pass…
That sounds like an interesting paper! I think you should publish it on the blog. 😉 And I’m jealous of your beach time. I need some of my own soon.
Maybe I will, Christy. Now, I’m just happy it’s written and sent off… I know I’m really lucky to get all this beach time, and I enjoy ever minute of it! Thanks for stopping by.
Oh wow that Paper actually sounds like it would be a lot of fun! I totally agree with Christy, we’d love to read it lol! Sounds like you had a lovely time with the daughter. Have a lovely week Lexxie!
I’ve just sent it off to my professor now. It’s pretty long, so not sure if it would fit in a blog post, but I’ll see once I get the result… It was quite fun to write, but also difficult to find academic articles that deal with love triangles in general, and those that happen in YA in particular. If my professors enjoy this paper, it could be transformed into my MA thesis, and possible be the introduction to that. We shall see 😀
Thanks for stopping by, Jeann. Have a lovely week yourself!
