The Sunday Post #54 – Weekly Wrap-up
Welcome to my Sunday Post. Thank you to Kimba over at The Caffeinated Reviewer, who is hosting this weekly event. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.
I’m back in Spain again for a week, because the kids have a week off for fall vacation. In Switzerland, this is commonly called ‘the potato vacation’ because it’s the right time for harvesting potatoes, and in the good old days, kids actually got the week off from school to help their parents at the farm. We don’t have a farm, so it’s nice to be back in sunny Spain, by the sea, even if the weather is definitely cooler here as well. I just love being close to the sea, it calms me, I love the smells, and of course, it’s nice to have some lazier days to spend together.

Blog Ahead 2015 Update:
I’m participating in the blog ahead challenge, hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer and Anna @ Herding Cats & Burning Soup. This challenge is to schedule as many posts as possible for the months coming after the month of October. As of right now, I have 22 posts scheduled and all ready to go for November and December, and I have to say I’m really happy with all the blogging I’ve been able to prepare in advance! I have several reviews, as well as quite a few meme posts, and it’s so nice to know I have a buffer for later in the year, and possibly for next year as well.
What have you been up to this past week? Don’t forget to leave me a link so I can come visit your Sunday Post as well.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’ve enjoyed your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!
Good for you, enjoy your time in Spain! Being by the water sounds pretty good right now. 🙂 Nice review of Lair of dreams, I’ve been seeing good things about that one. Hope all is well this week!
It’s kind of cool, so I don’t think I’ll be going into the water, but being by it is so relaxing and nice 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, Greg.
I’m glad you’re enjoying Spain – I’d love to visit there sometime. Great job with your Blog Ahead. You are doing great! I don’t have a TON scheduled for November, but I do have a little bit and I have about three more reviews to write up and schedule in the next day or so for next month, so doing well overall.
Spain is definitely a beautiful country, with a lot of very friendly people 🙂 I don’t have a ton scheduled for November, either, but each post that is scheduled in advance is good by me!
I hope you’ll be able to continue adding more posts for later on, Lauren!
Thanks for the mention!!
You’re welcome, Jennifer.
That potato season…..you learn something new every day.
LOL, I know, right? I thought it would be fun to share the reason behind this vacation 😀
A week off already, that seems early, but yay for a break. Here in my part of the US, and in many parts, the school schedule originally revolved around agriculture, so it shouldn’t surprise me that’s true in other countries.
Enjoy your week; I hope you have perfect weather!
My kids started school on August 24th, so I think they’re very much ready for a break! And I know other countries have some vacations scheduled around agriculture, too, it’s interesting that it’s the same in some parts of the US.
Ahhh, a week in Spain. Sounds lovely. Schools get a week off in the fall here for Thanksgiving. It’s to eat and buy a bunch of crap on Black Friday. lol. Wow, you’re doing great with the challenge.
I don’t think any kids I know are actually picking potatoes, but it sure is nice to have a week off to cut the semester in two!

22 posts i fantastic. I am at 19 for the challenge, and plugging along. Glad you are enjoying a week in sunny Spain. Thanks for the tidbit about potato week. I am off to check out Jen’s post I missed. Have a lovely week 🙂
You’re doing very well with the challenge as well, Kim, I’m very happy about all my scheduled posts. I’ll be able to keep going for the rest of the year without too much stress now 🙂
Have a lovely week yourself.
Wow Lexxie – 22 posts, that’s fabulous. Well done!
And Spain… sigh. I’m very envious!
Yes, Spain! I love coming here, and we’re very lucky to have our own place here 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, Deb!
That explains the picture on Facebook 😉 Water does the same to me, calms me and makes me feel better. Enjoy your family vacation, even if the weather is cooler, it definitely looks sunny <3
Yes, it is sunny in the afternoon, and being able to spend some time on the beach – even bundled up – is wonderful 🙂
A week in sunny Spain sounds like heaven to me right now. That’s funny about the potatoe holiday, you’d think we’d have one of those here! I feel the same about the sea, just listening to it and looking at it, calms me down. Easily known I’m a pisces 😀
Well done on all your Blog Ahead posts, you are doing fantastic.
Maybe you used to have potatoe holidays before? And a week in Spain is heavenly – we all needed a little break, and life is just a little slower here.
It looks like you are having fun with the family in Spain. And what a great blogging week you have had too. Happy Sunday.
By the sea is among my favorite place to be! And when I can be here with family, it’s even better, Renee 🙂
In Scotland it used to be called the Tattie holidays but now the school kids here have two weeks off and no picking of potatoes!!
Have a great time in Spain.
Two weeks off sounds even better than just one, Heather… And I think it’s good they don’t actually have to pick potatoes…

Hope you enjoyed your vacation and got some good reading in! 🙂
Stormi
So far, I’ve been reading like a mad woman, Stormi 🙂 And nothing yet for my classes, so it’s all been for pleasure 🙂
Enjoy your week in Spain! Here in the Netherlands they usually call that week the autumn vacation. You’re doing great with Blog Ahead, wow 22 posts that’s great! Have a great week!
Thank you, Lola 🙂 It’s just called fall / autumn vacation now, too… but my husband continues to call it potato vacation 😀
Spain sounds so lovely…my son and DIL have been there a few times while living in Berlin (and now Prague). They went there for their honeymoon, too, after their marriage in Gibraltar.
I love being by the water, too, even if it’s in boring California…LOL.
Enjoy your week…and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
It’s like coming home when we go here now, it’s so nice to spend time in this small village, just relaxing and not having a time-table for anything we do…
I’ve never been to California, so that doesn’t sound boring to me at all, Laurel-Rain 😀
Your vacation sounds so relaxing and it is nice you get a break from school. My kids won’t get a break until the end of November and they can’t wait lol. You are doing really good with the blog ahead challenge. I’m not participating but I am trying to blog ahead my meme posts. Have a great week!
I don’t actually have a break from Uni… but I still left for a week, and my professors know that I’m not in class this week since my kids are off from school…
Have a great week yourself, Kathy!
oh spain, sounds so wonderful. Lucky you 🙂 enjoy your stay and hope you had a great week.
Thank you, Lily 🙂

Enjoy your potato vacation in Espana!!
Thanks, Braine 🙂
Sigh… that would be nice to go hang by the sea for a week! I can’t wait for our Christmas holiday’s s we can hit the water!
Yeah, that sounds nice, Naomi! My Christmas vacation will be spent in Norway with my family, and hopefully a ton of snow and really cold weather 😀 Quite the opposite from you, eh?
Enjoy the vacation. Hope lots of reading is on the agenda. I live so close to a beautiful lake and take it for granted too often.
Lots of reading is always on the agenda, Nise’ 🙂 I live close to a lake, too, but the sea is something different… I think it’s the salt that makes it even better for me 🙂
I’ve always wanted to visit Spain. Enjoy your vacation! It sounds lovely.
Thank you, Tiffany!
I’m glad you get to spend a week by the sea rather than harvesting potatoes, Lexxie. 😉 And I’m envious of your vacation. Of course, I just returned from 5 days in Seattle. Did I tell you I was going to a writer’s conference? I think I did… It was so fun and so inspiring! I got to meet Sabrina Jeffries, Elizabeth Hoyt (who is hilarious!), and Margaret Mallory. I met other authors as well but these were the keynote speakers. Anyway, back to reality and I had to hit the ground running. The kids – and the band – made State so we’re in that final sprint to the end. Sunday, we’ll head to Pueblo for a 36-hour whirlwind of competition. And then, it’s over…
Sorry I’ve been absent but I did *not* get on my laptop while I was away. Happy Wednesday and I hope you’re really enjoying your fall vacation!! **BIG HUGS**
OMG, Brandee! I’m also very, very happy we’re not actually harvesting potatoes right now! Even if the weather is quite cool, staying close to the sea is always nice. It makes me feel relaxed, and completely in vacation mode.
You did tell me you were going to the conference! I’m a bit jealous you got to meet Sabrina Jeffries! And the other authors, too, of course. I’m really happy you had such a great time, of course *hugs*.
And congrats to the kids for making State!! That’s made of awesome, even if you will have some very busy times ahead. I’m keeping my fingers crossed 🙂 *BIG HUGS*
