Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #102
Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes… If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.
The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.
Today, my hungry hearts quote is from ‘Finding Kyle’ by Sawyer Bennett. And I’m loving this story so much! Kyle is in hiding, and when Jane, his next-door neighbor sets her sights on him, he tries to resist. But pure, beautiful, normal Jane draws him like a moth to a flame, and in this scene, they are having a picnic. And it’s the first normal thing Kyle has done in years! And it made my eyes tear up a little for him – plus, I have a feeling their peaceful interlude with each other won’t last.
My Hungry Hearts quote:
I carry the cooler over to the blanket. After setting it down on a corner so it’s not lifted by the breeze, I take a seat on one side as Jane removes items from her basket. “I made some fried chicken and potato salad,” she says as she pulls out some paper plates. “And I was going to make some cookies but decided to buy them instead at the bakery. No sense in ruining this outing for us. ” Chuckling, I take a plate from Jane and put a piece of chicken onto it. It smells phenomenal. There’s something about the fact that Jane made it that makes me believe it will be the best chicken I’ve ever had. Today will no doubt go down as one of the best days ever, which I seem to think a lot when I’m around this woman. As Jane dishes me some potato salad, I take a bite of the chicken and groan. Her eyes snap to me. “That’s fucking amazing,” I mumble around my food before chewing.
Thanks for stopping by today, I look forward to reading your Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts quote. Have a terrific Thursday and don’t forget to link up.
