Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #3
Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes… If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.
The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.
Since I went the disgusting way last week, I thought I needed to find something gorgeously delicious to share today, so I thought about Jill Shalvis’ Lucky Harbor series. Now, there are some extremely yummy male characters in this series, which is partly why it’s one of my favorite contemporary romance series, and when there is a mixture of flirting and food items, I’m always a happy reader. This quote is from The Sweetest Thing (Lucky Harbor #2)
Not that she’d be sharing that information with the good sheriff. No, that’d be like letting the big bad wolf in for some cookies and milk.
He turned back and looked at her for a long beat, clearly struggling between pride and hunger. The lure of food won out, and he went into the kitchen.

i just finished a quick work-out & now you’re making me want to sneak a couple of Oreos from the cookie jar. Yeah, cookies win!
LOL, sorry about that, Braine! At least you already had a workout today 😉
I own the first Lucky Harbor book, but haven’t gotten around to reading it yet. The book I am currently reading has a lot of mentiosn fo food as the brother of the main character loves to eat, so far there have been mentions of stew, banana pudding, a jungle soup and more. I really should see if I can quote one of those scenes for a post.
The Lucky Harbor series is one of my favorites, Lola! And please quote something form your current read.. just the different examples you gave here made me hungry!
Have a great evening 🙂

I want a cookie (or two)! I love this meme Lexxie – I’m going to start trying to mark food passages in my books and hopefully I’ll be able to start joining in soon 🙂
I want both a cookie and a piece of the sheriff, Berls 😉 I look forward to seeing what you’ll come up with!
Gotta love a good cookie (especially lemon) ! Sadly, everything I read about food in books these days is still, always, forever it seems : blood !
Reading vampire stories these days, are you, Iza? 😛 I could fill many posts with blood as well.. but I prefer cookies, drinks and something yummy 😉
That was a *sweet* quote. This is a series I still need to start, Lexxie. You’ve been tempting me with it since we ‘met’. 😉 Some day, right? I saw FSoG yesterday – how about a cosmo?
**BIG HUGS**
