Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #72
Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes… If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.
The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.
Today, I’m sharing a Thirsty Thursday quote with you, from my recent read The Bourbon Thief by Tiffany Reisz. Of course, one of the subjects of that story being bourbon, it wasn’t all that hard to find a quote to use today 😉
My Thirsty Thursday quote:
“Four Roses, neat. Double pour.”
“A lady who knows her bourbon and isn’t afraid to drink it straight.” McQueen turned ten degrees on his bar stool toward hr. “A woman after my own heart.”
“I’m a Kentucky girl,” she said with a graceful shrug. “And bourbon’s like the truth, you know.”
“How’s that?”
“The first taste burns, but once you get used to it, it’s the only thing you want in your mouth.
Thanks for stopping by today, I look forward to reading your Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts quote. Have a terrific Thursday and don’t forget to link up.
Nice quote. I have a feeling these two might be quite the pair… 🙂
They definitely were… even if they weren’t exactly a pair at all 🙂
I don’t often drink bourbon, but now I want some! It’s so dang hot here, it sounds like the perfect antidote. I can almost hear the accent in this conversation, too.
I don’t drink much bourbon myself, but yeah, this quote sure did something about my want 🙂
Haha – Oh, I like that quote!
It’s good, no?
Smooth answer! I have this book on my wish
I hope your wish will come true soon!
I don’t drink but that sounds deliciously. 🙂
My Thursday meme is here!
It does sound good, I agree 🙂
I AM a Kentucky Girl..hah I don’t drink alcohol though, so I’ve never had bourbon. However, I HAVE had bourbon balls and those are great. Have you heard of those?
-Lauren
I have heard of bourbon balls, but I haven’t tried any. I’ll need to check that out, though, Lauren 🙂
I can’t wait to start this meme next week!
I’m looking forward to seeing what you’ll share, Leona 🙂

I am a Kentucky girl as well and there was a time when I drank my share of whiskey, but never neat. It had to have coke or ginger ale mixed with it. No longer drink but I can appreciate your quote!
I’m going to have to try some real bourbon one day, Lorna 🙂 Haven’t actually done that before, as if I drink, it’s usually wine or beer…
I have never drank Bourbon but it is one of those drinks I think would make me look cool!!
Hmm, Kentucky appears again in a Reisz book. 😉 Great quote, Lex. I’ve not tried bourbon but I like the quote anyway. And someday I’ll get to read The Bourbon Thief. lol *BIG HUGS*
