Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #73
Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes… If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.
The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.
This week, I’m sharing a hungry hearts quote from Lori Foster’s new contemporary romance Don’t Tempt Me. It’s a sweet romance where you get two for the price of one 😉 and where there is some amazing character development. This quote is from a part in the story where Honor finally realizes that she has true friends, and it was so nice to see the interactions between friends and neighbors, how close the food and the bonfire could bring them all.
My Hungry Hearts quote:
When they joined the others for dinner, there were a lot of telling looks. But with the funeral tomorrow, everyone treated her with extra care – making sure she knew she had friends without being obvious. Violet raved over the grilled steaks and praised Hogan on his special stuffed potato recipe, which totally took Hogan off guard. He was used to Violet giving him more guff than Lexie often did. […]
Nathan supplied the beers – with colas for those who wanted them. Colt set up some music and the bonfire lit the yard.
Thanks for stopping by today, I look forward to reading your Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts quote. Have a terrific Thursday and don’t forget to link up.
And there was even a Lexie sighting in that quote. 🙂 Yum for the grilled steaks and potatoes.
Yeah, that was funny 🙂 I love it when there are Lexie’s in my stories, Sophia Rose 🙂
I love stuffed potatoes! And yes, Lexie was present, wasn’t she? Thanks for sharing.
I love stuffed potatoes, too, and steak… and beer! 😉
I have the eARC of this and I can’t wait to read it since I love Lori Foster.
I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I did, Leona 🙂
Thanks, it’s not even lunchtime yet and I’m already hungry! 😛 Nice pick, and how lovely there was a Lexie in it 🙂
LOL, I’m the same way with this feature, Silvia! Always want some food and drinks 😉

Food described in books makes me hungry. This prompt would make me gain weight as I snack through my reading. Stuffed potatoes sound really good.
I love reading about food in books, Karen! It makes a story more realistic to me if the characters take the time to eat and drink 😀
Mmmm, steak and stuffed potatoes… This meme might be dangerous for my taste buds.
I know… and I’m not even sorry, Amanda 😉
Wow! Isn’t that cool to see your name in print? I collect cookbooks and watch food shows all the time, so when I find a book that has recipes or anything to do with cooking I’m all in. I just can’t remember any quotes. (lol) Hugs…
Yup, definitely cool, Ro 🙂 I love food, and if there is an actual recipe with my novel, I’m definitely happy-dancing!
Nothing like sharing food with friends! These passages always make me hungry!
I love sharing a good meal with friends! It’s like the ultimate experience for friendship 🙂 And I agree, Lauren, these passages never fail to make me hungry, either.
