Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts
Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes… If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.
The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.
Today, I’m sharing a hungry hearts quote from Her Halloween Treat by Tiffany Reisz. This happens after Chris and Joey have spent a few nights together, and Chris really wants Joey to move back to Oregon, so they can have a real relationship – even if he has promised her that he won’t try to make her stay…
So he had all of today, Friday and Saturday to talk her into staying.
But first, he had to wake her up. He’d learned quickly the best way to wake Joey from a deep sleep was for him to leave the bed and start cooking breakfast. Poking and prodding would only elicit a groan from her before she flopped over onto her stomach and went immediately back to sleep.
If he cooked bacon, however…
No better alarm clock in the world.
[…] What he could do, however, was seduce her. Seduce her not for the sex – that was already happening, a lot – but seduce her into staying. He wouldn’t say a word about it. He’d let his seduction skills do the convincing and then Joey would decide to stay all on her own.
He’d start the seduction with bacon.
Thanks for stopping by today, I look forward to reading your Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts quote. Have a terrific Thursday and don’t forget to link up.
Haha! Yes! Bacon is a tempting seducer.
Fun quote, Lexxie!
Thanks, Sophia 🙂 Bacon is a great seducer for sure 😉
I can be seduced by bacon….lol. I love imagining the scent right now. Thanks!
Mmm bacon… 😉
The girl must be really into bacon. Haha. I couldn’t be seduced by that.
LOL! I could! Someone waking me up with home-made hot breakfast – definitely seducing me 🙂

I can’t even remember the taste of real bacon, it’s been so long. I’ve been eating turkey bacon for so many years now. I’m starting this in a couple of days. After your review I went on NG and requested it. I can’t believe I got approved!
Turkey bacon is good, too! But I really love the real thing…
I’m so happy you were approved for this one, Lekeisha, and I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I did.

Hahaha Seduction that begins with bacon. Love it! I’m reading a Chicagoland vampires right now, so for once I have tons of food references! But it’s audio which makes it really hard to share…
Did you know that you can make bookmarks with small snippets with your audios now, Berls? I haven’t checked if it works the way it’s supposed to…
I hope you’ll be able to find some of those Chicagoland food quotes to share with us one of these Thursdays 😀 *hugs*
Seduction by…bacon. That’s a new one! 🙂 And you’ve seduced me into wanting to read this even sooner! I guess I could read this before finishing the Original Sinners series since this is a standalone, yes?
Happy Thursday, wife! I hope your day is going well! *BIG HUGS*
You could SO read this before the Original Sinners series, Brandee! It’s a great example of Reisz’s writing, and it’s oh so hot. Seduction by bacon… or tator tots 😉 We didn’t ever have tator tots in Chicago, so you owe me a breakfast in Atlanta 😉 *BIG HUGS* wife!
I wouldn’t complain to wake up to breakfast!
Me neither! That would seduce me all over again *hint to Mr. Lex* 😉
I so need to pick up a book by Tiffany Reisz!
Oh my gosh, yes, you really do, Grace!
I love Tiffany Reisz, she can pull off just about any type of romance. And I have to agree, bacon is such a great tempter. lol
I agree – Tiffany Reisz is an amazing writer!
I don’t think there’s a better alarm clock than the smell of bacon lol. And that sounds so sweet how he’s going to seduce her into staying <3
I wish my alarm clock every morning was bacon, Kristen! <3 And this story is so very sweet (and hot!)

Ah bacon! The only better smell cooking is something chocolate baking in the oven. Great choice this week 🙂

Not a fan of bacon believe it or not. However you could get my butt out of bed with a pot of fresh brewed coffee. That smell will have me standing right next to you without even realizing I got up. It’s like Ninja Skills. 🙂
