The morning after can be a bit weird sometimes in romances, and then, everything is made better with… you guessed it, coffee! I’m sharing a Thirsty Thursday quote from Gillian Archer’s Ruthless with you today:
“No screwing with you before your morning coffee Got it.” His lips raised against my temple and I couldn’t resist the urge to melt into his embrace just a little bit.
So we just stood in the middle of my kitchen, me in his arms and neither one of us talking. I sipped my coffee and tried not to obsess about what this meant.
But I quickly lost that battle. What did it mean? Anything? Nothing? Were we dating? Did bikers date? Was I one of many? My mind replayed that “everyone working tonight” thing he’d said last night. Who was “everyone”? Women? Or just some of his biker buddies? I couldn’t think of a way to bring it up without sounding like a deranged, clingy girl.

Apparently we both survived on coffee. That thought left me with a slight happy glow. Like somehow our common love for coffee bound us in a way that two nights of hot and sweaty sex couldn’t. Whatever. Sometimes being a girl was overrated.

Coffee is something I just don’t get. I read about it constantly in books and hear people talking about it all the time. But for me, its a really nasty drink that makes me feel ill. Caffeine in general makes me feel very jittery and dizzy :/ I do love the smell though. That I get!
But you drink tea, no?? Just substitute coffee for tea when you read :p
I love coffee, and I feel like I’ll stay asleep all day if I don’t get mine in the morning!

I drink sugar and flavored cream with a little coffee (lol), so I can’t say I’m a hardcore coffee drinker, but that and tea are nice treats. I had a friend once who had to drink Coke every morning, and I saw her do that for 2 years straight. One morning she missed it and we all had hell to pay all day pretty much. (lol) Hugs…
LOL Ro! I use milk in my coffee, so I’m not sure how hardcore I am, either. I guess coke is a nice alternative – especially if it’s really hot.
