Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #91

Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes…  If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.

The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.

I recently read The Darkest Link, the last book in Scarlett Cole’s Second Circle Tattoo series, and there were many quotes for my Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts feature! This story was so hot I’m curling my toes just thinking about it! Perfect ending to an intricate romantic suspense series for sure. Today, I’m sharing a Thirsty Thursday quote… Lia has fallen hard and fast for Kenny, and while she tries to play it cool, that proves to be close to impossible for her!

DEFINITELY NOT. She typed quickly, trying to temper the huge grin on her face.

I’m more persuasive in person.
I know, and that’s half the problem.
Let me lay it out for you. I really enjoyed the time we spent together, and I know we said it was just one night, but I can’t get that smart mouth and those sexy as sin curves of yours out of my mind. So pick option two already, and put both of us out of our misery.
Lia picked up her drink and took two large gulps. There was probably a scotch distiller in Scotland turning over in his grave at her abuse of his fine liquor. She was playing with fire and yet the idea of being burned wasn’t a big enough incentive to say no.

Thanks for stopping by today, I look forward to reading your Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts quote. Have a terrific Thursday and don’t forget to link up.

  1. Haha, love it when a scene is so scorchy that cold liquid is necessary to cool it off. Or in this case, good Scotch to gain some liquid courage. 🙂

    Lol! I know I can’t drink scotch like that, so already I’m nodding my head in appreciation Lia. I also can seriously appreciate the need for some liquid courage 🙂

    So I broke coyer’s website and just spent the last three days trying to get it up for today. And it’s still broke. I’m so bummed, hopefully I can get it fixed for the weekend. Fingers crossed. How’s your week going? {{Hugs}}

    • I’m not a huge fan of Scotch, at least, I know I didn’t use to be – maybe I need to go to a Scotch tasting somewhere and check if that is still the case?
      Oh no!! COYER website is down, I checked this morning and was surprised. I’m sure you gals will get it up and running soon, so that we can all sign up for the next challenge.
      My week has been great so far, thank you 🙂 I have quite a bit of work these days, plus my thesis, so things are quite busy.{{{HUGS}}}

  3. Scotch is probably my least favorite liquor…lol. But I remember the time when I was newly single (and much, much younger), I filled up my liquor cabinet with Scotch, along with several other bottles of booze. The Vodka seemed to go faster, and after several months, I still had quite a bit of Scotch.

    Very sexy scene, though. It seems appropriate that she is gulping Scotch.
