Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #96

Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes…  If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.

The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.

This week’s Hungry Hearts is from Hard to Hold by Katie Rose. This sports romance was tender and sweet, and there were some very nice foodie quotes in there, too! This quote is from when Logan comes home after a late practice, one of the first evenings he has a nanny, after just learning he’s a single father to a three-month-old baby, and he’s utterly exhausted…

My Hungry Hearts quote:

As he walked into his condo and tossed the keys on the kitchen counter, he noticed a covered dish on the stove. Frowning, Logan removed the glass lid and saw that there was some kind of macaroni thing inside.
Was it something that Isabella had made for herself, and then forgot?
Or maybe she made it for him?
After grabbing a beer from the fridge, Logan got a fork from the silver drawer and stabbed a couple of the macaroni. He’d intended to just try the dish, but when he tasted it, he groaned.
Lobster macaroni and cheese. With broccoli.
And it was to die for.
His stomach growled as he reached for a second sample. Normally he ate just to satisfy his hunger, but now he took his time, savoring the cheeses, the pasta, the sweet chunks of lobster, and the bitter texture of the broccoli.
Fucking amazing.

Thanks for stopping by today, I look forward to reading your Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts quote. Have a terrific Thursday and don’t forget to link up.

  1. Nice one 🙂 the last book I’ve read with lots of great food quotes was A long way to a small, angry planet by Becky Chambers – especially thrilling cause it’s all alien food. Have you read that one? It’s a wonderful book for many reasons, food just being one of them. I’ll try and link my post about it in the luv 🙂 such a great book.

    • *sighs* *nods, sadly* yes, Brandee, I know you don’t eat seafood… I guess we could get you a mac and cheese without the lobster 😉
Have you not read her baseball series, dear? The one that made you and Denise bring me to see the Cubs in Chicago in May?? {{{BIG HUGS}}} and love!!

  2. I don’t eat seafood, but I love mac and cheese like it’s a food group all on it’s own although it’s hard to find just the right mac and cheese. I wish i had some now! Great excerpt-made me hungry!
