Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #99

Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes…  If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.

The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.

Like last week, I’m sharing a Kristen Ashely quote, from the same series, but not the same book. Today’s hungry hearts quote is from Sweet Dreams, and it’s so swoony, lots of romance with a sharp edge of danger mixed in! At this point of the story, Tate and Lauren are at Lala-Land, the local coffee shop, where only good stuff can be had. And Tate is ready to be wooed by Shambles and Sunny… I could have actually chosen between this and two other quotes, from Lala-Land, and all of them had to do with lemony stuff, and they were all absolutely yummy!

My Hungry Hearts quote:

Tate looked at Shambles. “Rock my world,” he invited, then he looked at me, his fingers curled around my wrist. He lifted my hand to his mouth and he took another huge bite of my cake. “Hey!” I exclaimed, pulling my hand back. “That’s my cake.” “Yeah,” Tate muttered, mouth full, his hand moved to my neck, his thumb at my jaw tilting my head back and his head bent. He swallowed, then he kissed me, a kiss that was short but included a sweep of his lemony tongue. Beautiful. His mouth left mine and he asked, “You still pissed?” “I don’t think so,” I answered, still tasting lemon and Tate so it was debatable, but it might be physically impossible to be pissed. He grinned. “Give it time, somethin’ll come up.” I turned and rolled my eyes to Sunny who was grinning at the both of us. Then I took another bite of cake. Heaven.

Thanks for stopping by today, I look forward to reading your Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts quote. Have a terrific Thursday and don’t forget to link up.

  1. RO

That scene is written so vividly, that I can actually picture being there. A lemon treat AND some hot lovin’? Yes!

  2. Seriously Lex, you’re making me want to re-read the series!! *sigh* Tate and Laurie are so awesome together. And I love Shambles and Sunny, too. Some day when you visit me here, we’ll go into town and have some of the delish confections at Java Groove. 😉
