If you’ve been a frequent visitor to (un)Conventional Bookviews, you know I love to travel. And if I can travel some place while also including my love of all things bookish, I think I’m the happiest blogger around 😉
In 2017, I was lucky enough to travel quite a bit, and three of my trips had to do with books, authors and other bloggers, so they are among my favorite travels.
2017 Favorite Travels
In May, I went to Atlanta for the RT Booklovers Convention, and it was so much fun! There were some slight problems with the hotel not expecting bookish people to be so present in the bar, but apart from that, and some elevator troubles, it was really good! The RT Booklovers Convention is one of my favorite conventions, because authors, readers, publishers, and bloggers alike usually all stay at the hotel where the convention takes place. This means that it’s possible to meet your favorite author or blogger in the bar. Or in the elevator… There are a lot of panels that caters to all the different people who come to the convention, and that makes it even more fun!
One of my favorite things about the RT convention was that I got to hang out with my blogger wife, Brandee @ Bookworm Brandee, and with Denise, who is the smart wife 😉 We went for a walk around Atlanta before the convention started, and generally had a great time.
I got to meet Tiffany Reisz!!! Who was so very nice, and I was in bookish heaven.
I think this is my favorite picture from Atlanta… Denise, me and Brandee walking back from the connecting hotel – where we had been in the Hunger Games elevators. And we didn’t know someone took a picture of us. I just love how we’re all holding on to each other 🙂
And I can’t talk about Atlanta without showing you who else I met. I almost wasn’t able to speak at all, that’s how excited I was!
I actually met Ilona and Gordon Andrews. Can you see how big my smile is?
There are two other favorite travels posts coming up, as I’ve been lucky enough to travel to some exciting places where there were authors, books, readers and bloggers galore!
Looks like RT was a lot of fun! I heard lots of great stories from people who attended that conference and they all had good things to say. 🙂
Ahhh, I remember enjoying your Instagram posts while you were on this trip. Fun to see them again and vicariously travel with you. That is an adorable one of you and your friends walking arm in arm.
These are awesome, Lexxie! I really wish that I could go to these events. I don’t get much time off from work and I need to use it for family events but I am so happy to see all the fun you are having. I wouldn’t know what to do with myself if I met Ilona and Gordon.
I wish I could attend one of these but they are always too far away. Maybe when I win the lottery:) Looks like you had quite the fun time.
“… not expecting bookish people to be so present in the bar”
Hahahaha! I can only imagine. Hope you’re 2018 travels are just as fun!
Oh how fun! Book conventions sound like a dream, it looks like you had a great time!

I had such a great time at this convention too. I’m not sure if I’m going to any conferences this year or not. I might take the year off. Those are some great pictures. I missed getting several pictures.
That is such a cool picture of you guys holding each in the corridor. I am sure you will have more amazing travels in 2018 too.
Thank you for sharing, darling. I would like to come to one. Maybe not next year but two years from now after I graduate. ?❤️
