Waiting on Wednesday #77
I don’t have to wait for all that long for today’s pick, as The Impostor Queen is scheduled for release on January 6th, 2016 by Margaret K. McElderry Books.
The Impostor Queen by Sarah Fine
Sixteen-year-old Elli was a small child when the Elders of Kupari chose her to succeed the Valtia, the queen who wields infinitely powerful ice and fire magic. Since then, Elli has lived in the temple, surrounded by luxury and tutored by magical priests, as she prepares for the day when the Valtia perishes and the magic finds a new home in her. Elli is destined to be the most powerful Valtia to ever rule.
But when the queen dies defending the kingdom from invading warriors, the magic doesn’t enter Elli. It’s nowhere to be found.
Disgraced, Elli flees to the outlands, the home of banished criminals—some who would love to see the temple burn with all its priests inside. As she finds her footing in this new world, Elli uncovers devastating new information about the Kupari magic, those who wield it, and the prophecy that foretold her destiny. Torn between the love she has for her people and her growing loyalty to the banished, Elli struggles to understand the true role she was meant to play. But as war looms, she must align with the right side—before the kingdom and its magic are completely destroyed.
Thanks for stopping by, have a fantastic Wednesday! Don’t forget to leave me a link in your comment so I can come and check out your Waiting on Wednesday post, too.
Sounds okay, but doesn’t have me totally up in knots. I hope you enjoy, though! =)
Thanks Caro, I hope I’ll enjoy it, too 🙂
Hmmm I don’t think I’ve heard of this one, sounds interesting though! Luckily you don’t have to wait long to read it 😉
I know – it’s out now, but it still deserved to be mentioned, I think 🙂
Been seeing a lot of this one around, but yet I still feel hesitant. Might wait for a few reviews though! Hope you love it!
Here’s my WoW
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
The synopsis alone really made me want this one, Jessica 🙂 Thanks for stopping by.
I just read a review of this but I can’t remember where…it sounds pretty good and the reviewer said it was pretty good. I love it when you post WoW books that have a short wait time. 😉
Happy Wednesday, Lex!! **BIG HUGS**
It makes me even more excited to know there are already some good reviews out, Brandee. The shorter the time, the better 😀
*BIG HUGS*
This is an author that I don’t think that I have read before. The book sounds interesting though. I hope you enjoy it!
I haven’t read this author before either, but the synopsis caught my eyes 🙂
This author is new to me, but I’ve noticed this book around. Gorgeous cover and blurb! Thanks for sharing, and I hope you enjoy it.
Here’s mine: “WHAT WAS MINE”
I agree, the cover and the blurb definitely draw the eyes.

Great pick! I can’t wait to read this one as well.
I hope we’ll both get to read it, and that we’ll enjoy it, Lekeisha.
Great pick, hope you get a chance to read it soon!
I hope so, too, Brandi 🙂
I really, really, really want to read this one! I’m so glad it was released today! Now I have to convince my husband to let me buy it though, since I’ve promised to spend less money on books this year, ugh. Great pick! Here’s my WoW. Happy reading!
I know… I have so many new ARCs this week, I don’t think I’m actually going to buy this… If I can keep my one-click-finger in check 😉
I’ve seen this one around everywhere. I am sure I will grab it if my library gets it and eventually read it, but overall am in no hurry. Seems there are a lot of books focusing on kingdoms, magic, etc so I want to wait until some of the hype dies down. I am sure it will be good though and hope you love it!
I love magic and fantasy, so this is right up my alley. I might not actually get it straight away, though, but having it in one of my posts helps me keep track of it.
Ok so: I kept seeing this one around Lexxie but not really paying any attention to it for some reason. Sometimes I think we all have book blind spots like that? Anyway, seeing it here I finally read the blurb and well I GET IT NOW! This sounds really, really good! Thanks for bringing it to my attention and awesome pick 😀
I hope we’ll both get to read it soon, and that we’ll enjoy it, Micheline 🙂
I posted that new release as well yesterday 🙂 I really like Sarah Fine.
Yes I saw that you posted that yesterday, Daniela, and I had almost forgotten that it was my WOW for today 🙂
Sounds really interesting! I might wait to read a couple of reviews first, but it sounds great! I hope you love it!
It does sound really good 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, Lizzie.
I saw this one on another blog and thought it sounded good… and here it is again! I still think it looks good LOL. Seriously though, I like the idea of her having to choose between groups. Looks like it has a lot of potential.
LOL it’s so funny when the same book shows up more than once in our feeds 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, Greg.
It was really good, hope you enjoy it!!
Now you just got me more excited, Lily!
Funny because I had never participated in a WOW until I got your Impostor Queen post in my email. You kind of recruited me 🙂
That’s funny, Daniela! I love the WOW posts because it’s a great way to find new releases, and I’m always hunting for more books to read – as if I don’t have enough, you know 😉
