The Sunday Post #122 – Weekend Wrap-up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

I’ve had another very busy week, and I’m already starting to look forward to our winter break which starts in two weeks… Yesterday (Friday) was Freddy’s first birthday, and so he got some goodies for his meals, and he had a great day, I think.

My youngest son was away all week for camp with his school, they were in Zermatt (Swiss Alps, where the Matterhorn is) skiing, and he had such a great time. The weather was gorgeous, and since he was in the group with the best skiers, he was able to ski on all the slopes, even the one that’s the highest up.

And I launched my new feature Safe & Sexy, where I share a bookish quote where the characters make sure they have a condom when they have sex 😉

  1. Happy birthday Freddy!! And ooh skiing in the Alps… that just seems like that would be the best place to ski if you ask me lol. Glad you had a nice week!

Yay for the new feature! Safe is good. 🙂

  2. Happy birthday Freddy! I’m loving the birthday photos! I’d so love to see the Swiss Alps as I love mountains and The Matterhorn is beautiful from the photos I’ve seen. I’ve never actually been on mainland Europe and I think my travelling days are over sadly! Hope you all have a great week!

    • Thank you, Chuckles 🙂 He had a great day yesterday, and today, too 🙂 He’s the best dog ever!

The Matterhorn is beautiful, and the pictures my son took were great, because he got some from quite high up, and others from the village and the sky was so very blue.

Too bad your travelling days are over! I’d show you around in Geneva, and get you on the right train to go see the Matterhorn for yourself 🙂

  3. OOh nice new reads! Lots of new to me ones! Except for the Charley books! I am so behind in that series and really need to get caught up soon! And wow!! Freddy’s 1 already?! Time sure does fly!

Hope you have a great week ahead!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

  4. Wow, already a year for Freddy! Happy birthday to him.

I love the idea of your Safe & Sexy feature.

Enjoy your new books, which all look very tempting. Happy reading!

  5. OMG! Your Safe & Sexy feature is so interesting! I don’t think I’ve come across a romance novel in which the pair didn’t use a condom (with the exception being in cases in which they were intentionally trying to get pregnant, or the woman was on birth control and there was consent as to not to use a condom). But I know I read sexy but possibly tamer romance novels, so I know there are plenty out there with couples that don’t use condoms (and never address that). Wrap it before you tap it!

I hope you enjoy all of your new books, Lexxie! Especially the Carina Press ones – love that publisher. <3

    Have a fabulous week. =)

    Check out my STS post!

    • I’ve actually come across romance novels where the couple ‘forgot’ about the condom in the heat of the moment… and I just have trouble understanding how that’s even possible! At least if it’s the first time they meet and just get to it, you know?
I think having the condom included in the scene, and making it sexy is awesome, though – it brings a realistic light to it all.
I love Carina Press, too – and I thank my lucky stars that they have my e-mail address and keep using it 😀

  6. I hope the next couple of weeks pass quickly so you can have a break Lexxie.

Happy belated birthday to Freddy! Perhaps you could give him an extra pat for me!

    And so many ARCs!!!

  7. Yay for all the books, Lexxie! I hope they all live up to expectations and you have a great time reading them. Also happy belated birthday to your super cute pup there. 😀

  8. One year already? Wow!! Happy Birthday Freddy!
Looks like you’ve got some great new reads again. Awesome!
Zermatt? Ow wow.. It’s so pretty there! And how lucky that the weather was so good. I follow the instagram account of Zermatt and saw some great pic’s.
    Have a great week Lexxie!

  9. Sounds like a great week! And you got some lovely new additions to your shelves. Hope you’ll enjoy them all! 🙂

I’ve actually never been to Zermatt :0 I should probably start travelling in my own country a little more 😛 We used to go to Grimentz in the Valais to Ski (because I’m actually from Sierre), but it’s been a long time since I’ve stood on the slopes.. :/

Wish you a lovely week! 🙂

    • Thanks, Yasmine, I hope so, too!
Isn’t it funny how we travel less in our our country than abroad? I have been to quite a few places in Switzerland, because when I first got here, I was only supposed to stay for a year. I haven’t seen all that much of Norway, though *sighs* one day I’ll remedy that.
      Have a lovely week yourself!

  10. Oh yes – what a wonderful opportunity to be able to get away and ski in the Alps for a school trip:). Freddy looks suitably delighted he’s celebrating his first (or is it 7th?) birthday. I very much approve of your latest Safe and Sexy launch. Authors need to be nudged that their protagonists should consider these things! Have a great week, Lexxie:).

  11. Great haul. Most of your books or authors I don´ t know, but that can change *smile*. Happy reading and Happy Birthday to Freddy – his pictures are so cute.

    Best wishes

  12. Darling, you procured very many fine looking books last week. I’m a bit green – especially over those Darynda Jones books. 😉 I can’t believe Freddy is already ONE! It doesn’t seem that long ago when you told me you were going to be getting a puppy. Time flies, doesn’t it? I’m sure he had a grand day of celebrating. And I’m so happy #3 had a great time skiing.
    I hope your weekend was lovely!! Love & {{{HUGS}}}
