Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookviews and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.
STS #175
Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are bought, borrowed, won or ARCs I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:
This was an absolutely crazy week for ARCs! I was sent one big batch (seven books!) from Carina Press – un-solicited, and I got three from Sourcebooks Fire – also un-solicited. Plus, I finally got approved for some I had requested a while back.
Relationship Status by KA Mitchell, Little Dancer by Brianna Hale, Wild & Sweet by Rhenna Morgan, At Attention by Annabeth Albert, His Alone by Alexa Riley, Alpha’s Challenge by Lauren Dane, and What it Takes by Shannon Stacey. Thank you so much, Carina Press!!
Kiss Marry Kill by Sidney Hanson from Swerve – thank you!!
Stranger Things Have Happened by Jeff Strand, The Dead Inside by Candy Drew Etler, and The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco. Thank you so much, Sourcebooks Fire!
Of course, I couldn’t resist the lure of the bookstore while I was in Norway, and I ended up buying one series I have had on my wish-list for quite a while, the Harry Hole crime series by Jo Nesbø.
Then, I went back to the bookstore, and I found a young adult fantasy series by a Norwegian author, and the covers drew me in – the summary DID me in!
The Sunday Post # – Weekend Wrap-up
Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.
I spent a fantastic week in Norway with my mom, two of my kids, Freddy, my sister, and other family members – including Freddy’s dad. The weather was gorgeous for the beginning of the week, and we went on long walks with the dogs, the kids went skating, we walked on the frozen sea, and we just really enjoyed making all these new memories together.
The first day, the dogs were a little crazy with each other, but then, they calmed down and just had fun together, and of course, they were too cute for words!

I was hardly online this week, so I haven’t been visiting anyone – sorry about that! I will do better starting Monday, now that I’m back home again.
Did you get some good books last week? What have you been up to this past week? Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’re enjoying your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!
Oh nice! Glad you had a good time! I loved those pictures of the frozen lake! That’s just insane. Always baffles me that lakes can freeze that hard and people can walk and skate on them! I’m weird I guess! Science was never my best subject anyway! LOL!
The reads are all new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!
My STS will be up Sunday, so stop by then if you can!
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
It was so nice to spend time with my mom and my sister for a whole week! That doesn’t happen very often.
It baffles me with the frozen lake, too – and this one isn’t even a lake, it’s the sea, but since it’s up between two parts of land, I guess it’s easier for it to freeze even if it’s saltwater.
Awesome haul of books this week. The Jo Nesbo books look interesting. I hope you love all of your new books. Freddie and his dad look like they are enjoying one another’s company.
Grace
I have been wanting to get them for a long time, Grace, but since Norwegian is my native language, I really wanted them in Norwegian… not that’s done, thank goodness for huge sales!
Ha look at all those books! Nice! Glad you had a nice trip- the dogs sure look like they had fun. Love that last pic!
The dogs had a blast! And I’m sure especially Dino (that’t the dad) is very sad to have an empty house right now. Hopefully, we’ll be able to plan another visit 😀
What adorable photos! How cute they look together! Looks like everybody had a good time on your trip. I think I could do with a nice relaxing break somewhere!
It was so nice, Chuckles! And it was even better because the dogs had such a blast!
Ooh the covers for that fantasy series *are* pretty! Glad you had a good time on your trip 🙂 And aww, the dogs are so cute together! I wonder if dogs actually know that they’re related when they meet like that? (Is that a stupid question?)
I know, right? I’m going to keep my eyes open for a possible English translation to keep everyone updated (if I love the books… but the lady at the bookstore told me she was sure I would!)
I have no idea if dogs know they’re related – and I don’t think it’s a stupid question at all. We’ve wondered about that a lot. We came to the conclusion that we don’t think Dino and Freddy knew they were related – but they knew their humans loved each other – and both knew the other’s humans already – so they got along really well. Since Freddy lived with him mom, grandma, aunt and sisters for the first eight weeks of his life, he’d recognize them all, and probably be very happy to see them again. He’d never met Dino before, though.
WOW, you really have an awesome haul this week! So many new books! I always love your puppy pics lol They look really happy together. Hope you have a great week and enjoy all of your new books!
I know! I bought all those books, and then a bunch more came in my inbox 😀
The dogs really were happy together, it was awesome to see them get to know each other 😀
Oh wow, you really got a ton of books at once. That will keep you busy. 🙂 Neat that you found some wish list books at the book store and a new fantasy series.
Glad you had fun visiting with family and the weather was good so you could get out and do things.
Have a good week, Lexxie!
I’m glad you had fun in Norway and bought lots of books. I hope you enjoy them. The dogs are adorable.
Great haul. Yes, sometimes you get them all at once 🙂 Happy reading and thanks for the beautiful pictures – the dogs are really cute!
Best wishes

Love your scandinavian picks. Norway sounds great. Interesting to hear that the weather was good. I imagine it so cold this time of year.
What fun you had in Norway, and how awesome that you got that Jo Nesbo series.
Freddy looks happy, too.
Thanks for sharing, and enjoy the new week.

The cover of that YA fantasy series are beautiful!! I am glad you had a great time in Norway. The dogs are so cute! Have a great week.
I feel like it’s *always* an absolutely crazy week in ARCs, for you. 😀 You must have super high year-end reading totals. So neat that you got Norwegian editions of books. I’d not heard of that series before. I hope you enjoy all of your new books, Lexxie!
Have a lovely week. =)
Check out my STS post!
What a great and relaxing trip. Walking on the frozen sea? That terrifies me but also must have been amazing!
Had Freddy seen his dad much? Am wondering if dog’s know? Guess they do…
I’ve not read any Jo Nesbo, which is ridiculous as it’s a genre I like!
So many unsolicited books. I never feel obliged to read books if they’re unsolicited… particularly if they’re outside of my genre of interest. I hope you got some good ones though.
No, this was the first time they met. Freddy tends to not even like other dogs – apart from other dachshunds, that is. They got along famously, though. Maybe because Freddy had already met my mom more than once, and Dino has known me since he was a puppy?
I have heard that the Nesbø translations are really good, Deborah 😉
I don’t feel obliged to read the unsolicited books either, but there are some I got that I want to read, like Shannon Stacey’s book, as it’s a follow-up / reunion book to her Kowalski series that I loved.
Wow! Glad you had a great time in Norway! I wish I could travel the world someday.
That are a lot of new books Lexxie. Really cool! I love those covers of the YA Fantasy series.
Norway sounds amazing. I really hope to go there someday. It look so pretty.
Those pictures of Freddy and his dad are so cute. I can’t stop looking at them! :D:D
Have a great week and happy reading!
Many nice books! You know what? We took another dog so new baby dog at home, so cute!
Your Norwegian break looks wonderful – it’s always a joy to catch up with family. Thank you for sharing your delightful pics. Your book hauls also are coming in industrial quantities! Have a great reading week, Lexxie:). My Sunday Post – https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2017/02/19/sunday-post-19th-february-2017/
Freddy and his dad are both adorable! Watching dogs play together is just so much fun. I am actually glad that we got 2 puppies last year because they have so much fun together. Yay for book surprises! I love surprise book mail even it rarely happens to me. Glad you enjoyed your getaway!

Wow! That’s a whole lot of ARCs incoming! I hope that you really enjoy them even though a lot were unsolicited.
Glad you had such a great week – it sounds fabulous! Freddy looked like he enjoyed the company too!?
I’ve had a seriously busy week (year) and hope to be able to focus a little more on blogging soon too! All the best for a good week on and off the blog for us both. 🙂
I loved the pictures posted of Freddy and his dad on IG! Too cute!
I got the upcoming AR book as well and am so excited. I am also super excited for Kiss Marry Kill because I love Sidney Halston! Great book haul this week! Enjoy them!

So very jealous of all your book getting!!! 😉 I hope you enjoy them all.
Freddy’s Dad is so cute, I loved watched the video of them!
Have a great week, Lexxie! Miss you! 🙂
Wow that’s neat you got such a big stack of unsolicited books! Those covers for that YA series look a bit creepy to me, but I hope it’s a good series! Sounds like you had a lovely week with your family and the dogs. All those pictures of the two dogs are great! I am looking forward to your post about why you read romance. Have a great week!
Holy cow! That’s a lot of books. Loved how you showcased the series and that YA one has some amazing covers. What a wonderful week ya’ll had, and Freddy looks like he did too! His dad is a handsome fella.
Yay for buying books! I’m glad you had a nice time in Norway. Aw, Freddy’s dad. Glad they got along – those photos are adorable.

You got a lot of books this week! The covers of that YA series look really good, but I can’t find a version of the synopsis in a language that I understand! Oh well, maybe one day. 🙂
Isn’t it great to get surprise goodies in the mail? And to prove that we are serious bookaholics, nothing wrong with heading to the bookstore, too! The doggie pics are so adorable. Norway? Yes!
You had a great week – book haul-wise as well as family-wise! That’s wonderful. I know it was hard getting back to reality, at least it always is for me. But that just makes the family visits more special, right? I hope you’re having a great week so far! And we’ll be chatting later today. 🙂
*LOVE* & {{{BIG HUGS}}} wifey! <3

Glad you had a good time in Norway. I got a ton of books last week, too. I think I’m like 7 books deep right now just for review. Normally, I have a ton of time to read books just for fun between review books. At least these are all ones that I love and can’t wait to jump into. I’m almost finished with my third. I think I still have four to go. Have a great week. 🙂
