The Sunday Post #126 – Weekend Wrap-up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

Another busy week, I still teach full time, and I finally found my writing muse for my thesis, so I have been writing quite a bit, too. I really need to finish up so I can have it all done, including my oral defence, before I go to Atlanta at the very beginning of May…

We flew back home from Norway last weekend, and Freddy hated flying. He cried and was noisy the whole flight, even if I had been to the vet to get him some calming medicine – it was actually worse on the way back home than it was to go up there 🙁 I really hope we’ll find a way to deal with this, as the dogs had so much fun together! They were so cute, and I hope we’ll be able to have them meet and play more together in the future.

This Week’s Freddy in Action:
Somehow, I haven’t taken any pics of Freddy this week, so this is from last week, before we left Norway.

  1. Aww poor Freddy! I’m not a great fan of flying either. In fact it was 2000 when I was last on a plane I think, and that was a rollercoaster ride to South Africa!

  2. Awww!! Poor baby! We never flew with our dogs. All our dogs have been way to big frankly. Not sure how they would handle either. Well at least you all made it back safely! Poor Freddy!

Nice new reads!! Oohh Spectacle!! I am so excited for all of Rachel’s books this year! There are so many coming out and she’s one of my most favorite authors! Hope you enjoy all the lovely new reads!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

  3. Oh yes, busy life for you. Poor Freddie with his flying fears or maybe its the air pressure that gets to him.

Wow! Lovely big pile and congrats on your three giveaway wins. 🙂

    Have a great week, Lexxie!

  4. Okay is it weird that I didn’t know that you could fly with dogs? I thought they were put in cages and in another holding spot… I know nothing about pets and travel. 😀 Poor puppy! I hope he’s doing okay. I got Spectacle a few weeks ago – that book has been a long time coming! I liked Menagerie and I’m curious to see where the story will go next. I hope you enjoy all of your new books!

Have a lovely weekend, Lexxie. 🙂

    Check out my STS post!

    • I didn’t know before, either. I did have to look into this when I got Freddy though, as I knew I had to take the plane from Norway to Switzerland to get him home with me… And small dogs are allowed to be brought onto the plane with passengers, but they have to be registered at the same time as we get our plane ticket, as only two dogs can be inside the plane at the same time. And the dog plus the cage the dog is in not only have to fit underneath the seat in front of me, and weigh 17 pounds (8 kilos) or less.
I am very curious about Spectacle, too, Alyssa Susanna. I can’t wait to see what will happen next, and strangely, it seems to be even darker than Menagerie.

  5. Ooh Spectacle reminds me I need to read Menagerie. And Starfall! Dirty Red looks fun.

Poor Freddy, sorry to hear he got distressed flying. I bet he was glad to hit the ground. 🙂

    Have a nice week!

  6. You got a lot of awesome books this week. I have my fingers crossed you are able to finish up your thesis so you are ready to go to Atlanta.

Dexter gets car sick when we go to the shore. He also tends to get a bit panicked especially when I drive because he can’t get close to me. The Vet recommended giving him a pill to stop him from getting sick but it also makes him sleepy so it works for when we travel back and forth in the summer. You might want to ask your vet they might be able to give you something since it’s not a lot that he travels a pill every once in a while should be fine for him. Something to calm him down and maybe make him fall asleep.

    Have a great week, Lexxie! Miss You! {{{{HUGS}}}}

  7. Wow, so many books this week! Congrats on the wins, it does seem you had a lucky week! I have two books in that Chronicles of Nick series because they came as part of a prize pack with a whole bunch of books, but I haven’t read any of the previous books so… it’s kind of a problem lol.

Hooray for finding your muse! But aww, I’m sorry the flight was so hard on Freddy :-/

Glad you liked my NSFW post, hehe. Have a great week!

  8. Quit torturing my poor Freddy! 😉 Seriously, though, hope he gets used to flying. Yay for The Devil Crept In. Omg … Dirty Red! Have you read The Opportunist yet? I love that trilogy so much! You have to read them in order though, because it’s one continues story, even though it’s told from different perspectives in each book.

  9. Freddy is the cutest little thing ever! *_* Sorry that he’s not a fan of flying! <3

Wow, awesome haul! I haven't heard of any of these except Starfall which has an AMAZING cover! *_*

    Enjoy your new books! 🙂

    My Book Haul!

  10. I can’t wait to read Starfall. I didn’t know it was available on audio. I listened to the audio version of Starflight and enjoyed it. I also want to read the new Brenda Novak.

I liked Close Enough to Touch and I hope you enjoy it too. Did you read her first book?

Glad things are going well with your thesis. Good luck!

Poor dog. I hate flying too. Especially the take off and landing and if there is turbulence.

  11. I know you’re super busy, wifey, but it’s all good. So happy your muse returned because I want you to have your thesis finished before Atlanta just as much as you do! You hauled in some mighty fine looking books last week…more than a few I’d like to see on my shelves. 😉 I hope you love them all!
I hope your weekend has been nice. Yesterday, as all my Saturdays until after April 8, was spent at in indoor percussion competition. It was freezing standing outside while they rehearsed and warmed up before their performance. It made for a long day and I was oh so happy to get home and be able to sit in front of the fire and read. 🙂
    Enjoy what’s left of your weekend! Love you and miss you!!! {{{BIG HUGS}}}

  12. woah what an amazing haul! I hope you enjoy all those books 😀 I cannot wait to see your opinion. Hope you enjoyed Norway, sorry the doggy didn’t like the flying, it can be rough – so hopefully you figure something out.

  13. Wow! You always amaze me with how many books you receive!!! I hope you enjoy most of them!

I’m sorry Freddy hated the flight so much. 🙁 That must have been hard to deal with. I hope you fins something to help him next time. What do you think bothered him the most?

Have a lovely week this week!

  14. Freddy looks cold! Though that may be me projecting the fact that I’d be really cold in that setting! You got some great books! The Brenda Novak has been tempting me. I love her writing but sometimes her story lines aren’t my favorite so I’ve been back and forth. All the historical romance authors are new to me but I’ve just gotten back into the genre and am really looking for new authors so I need to check them out. Good luck getting everything done by April! It sounds like a lot of work but doable. Have a great week!

  15. The Brenda Novak caught my eye!! I liked the last two books I read of hers, but it’s been a while. Good luck with your writing and preparing your oral defense. I’m sure you’ll get it tackled before May.
