Weekend Wrap-up #177 – And March Came Marching In

Posted 4 March, 2017 by Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms in Memes, Wrap-up Posts / 46 Comments

Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookviews and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.

STS / BB&B - (un)Conventional bookviews

STS #177

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:

ARCs Recieved - (un)Conventional Bookviews - Bought Borrowed and Bagged Stacking the Shelves

Thank you, Charlesbridge Teen and NetGalley!

Purchased - (un)Conventional Bookviews bought borrowed and bagged stacking the shelves

I received Purple Orchids by Samantha Christy and Rhythm, Chord & Malykhin by Mariana Zapata in my The Bookworm Box.

One of my fellow troopers – and my first real-life book-friend here in Geneva – Amélie gifted these two books to me when we had lunch together on Tuesday, planning a bookish weekend of shenanigans for September 😉

The Sunday Post #127 – Weekend Wrap-up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

Yet another very busy week, here. I feel so bad because I don’t have time to visit bloggers I love, nor to write as many reviews or other blog-posts as I’d like. I did get quite a bit of writing done for my thesis, though, and my prof was happy, which made me happy. I have to keep on keeping on, though.

This Week’s Freddy in Action:

Freddy wanted to play, and just showed me how good-looking he is to make that happen 😉

And after playing, it’s always time for a nap!

And then, complete abandon in sleep – it looks heavenly

  1. I wish I could get that comfortable when I sleep…it looks great! Nice book haul this week…it’s always nice to get gifts and swag! Hope you have more time on your hands soon to enjoy all your new reads!

  2. So many great books! Love the cover of “Select” 🙂 And Freddy is just the cutest <3 Have a wonderful weekend! Tonight I´m going to work, but tomorrow is my sunday off, so I hope I have the chance to go for a long walk in the sun 🙂

  3. Don’t worry about the visit, real life sometimes needs attention too. I am glad you are doing good with the thesis. I am sure you can’t wait to be finished with it.
Dogs always look comfy no matter what position they are in. 🙂

I might try the bookworm box at least once, I am only doing uppercase and I like it so far. Want to try another for a year and bookwork box was one of them because its for a good cause.

Have a great week, Lexxie! Happy Reading! Miss you! oxox

    • I know, Michelle, but I really feel like I’m missing out on so many things these days 🙁 And I’m utterly exhausted, which means I really need to just finish my thesis.
Dogs sleeping just look amazing, Freddy has this complete abandonment both in his body and his facial features – it’s awesome.
I love the Bookworm Box, both the books I get and the fact that the profits go to a charity.
Have a great week yourself, my dear. I miss you, too!! xoxo

  4. Oh nice new reads! Totally new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all! And omg, you’re writing a thesis and going for a big degree! That’s big news!! That has to take precedence over blogging! We’ll all still be here when you’re done, so focus on your education first and then blog! Blogging should be for fun anyways and if you’re super busy, which is totally understandable, the blogging can wait. Hope things continue to go well with your thesis!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

Such an adorable puppy, and all those books to read once you have time. Awesome to meet a new friend who also loves books, right? Hope your weekend is a relaxing one! Hugs…

  6. I sometimes wander what Dogs dream of when they sleep. Freddie looks like he is a very energetic puppy. You got some interesting books. I have never heard of Charlesbridge Teen before now. Great haul.

  7. I have been feeling pretty bad about not being able to get around to a lot of visiting and commenting, either. Right now I’m buckling down to get some massive review writing backlog complete and get some real work done for Mini Blog Ahead.

  8. No worries about being too busy to get around and visit and get to reviews. We all have those weeks, ugh!

But neat! You got some lovely books and swag in your haul. Neat that your book friend could give you a pair romances.

Hopefully you’ll have a bit of book time this week to enjoy your goodies. 🙂

  9. Mariana Zapata is one of my favorite authors. I haven’t read that book yet but I’m planning to. Her writing is SUPERB. Looking forward to reading your thoughts about it, Lexxie.
Glad you had a great weekend especially with your thesis. 😀

  10. You can only do SO much and getting some writing done for your thesis needs to be a priority (I guess!) Hope you will get some more done this week. The cover of Select is beautiful. I’ve never been a sucker for nice covers, but playing on the blogosphere changed that…! Hope you enjoy it!

  11. Select has a pretty cover! I hadn’t seen that one before, but now I am curious. That box you got looks nice!

I feel the exact same way and actually mentioned that in my Sunday post as well how much i miss visiting my blogging friends. I try and do some visiting on Sundays lately, but I just don’t have as much time as used to. Good to hear you’re making some good progress with your thesis!

Thanks for posting some cute pictures of Freddy! I hope you’ll have a good week!

  12. I love your Freddy pictures. Dogs are so fun to have. That was so nice of your friend to gift you those books- that’s a friend that really knows you!

Good luck with your thesis and don’t worry about commenting. Your thesis is wayyyy more important. Have a great week!

  13. oh I just love how dogs think, I swear they can manipulate minds and bodies hehe Looks like an okay week for you, and some goodies to read. I like Alexa Riley, she has a wonderful writing voice.
