Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookviews and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.

The Sunday Post # – Weekend Wrap-up #128

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

Last Saturday,I got early tickets for my oldest daughter and myself to got to RARE18 in London. So many authors I enjoy will be there, and I’m really excited about that. In all that excitement, I also got tickets for RARE17 in Berlin, which means  I’m going for a weekend to Berlin with Mr. Lex in June 🙂 So yeah, I managed to get some free time stuff organised, which made me happy, because I’ve been utterly exhausted.

I also added a lot of freebies thanks to RARE, as there are several of the authors who are going to be there I haven’t read before, and I would like to try some of them.

There is also a New Adult festival in Cannes in the South of France in September, and I got tickets for that as well. Colleen Hoover, KA Tucker and Karina Halle are just some of the authors who will be there.

Even if I was really busy, we managed to celebrate #3’s 15th birthday on Wednesday, and I brought home-baked goods to my class that day, too, as we were watching a movie (Twelve Angry Men) based on a book we had just finished reading.

*sighs* No blog-visits for me this week… I really, really hope I’ll finish my thesis soon.

Did you get some good books last week? What have you been up to this past week? Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’re enjoying your weekend, and that next week will be awesome!

  1. Look at you! Lining up all those lovely book visits. Hope you all have fun trips for those (and yes, I will want blog updates on your trips with pictures.LOL0. Neat that you can get lots of freebies from it, too.

I got Silence Fallen this week, too. Some of the others in your haul look interesting and I look forward to reading your reviews on them.

Good that you’re still working and plugging away on your thesis and subbing. Fun treats day with the class and birthday. 🙂

    Have a good weekend, Lexxie!

  2. Cannes sounds like a pretty good place to go for somethnig bookish. 🙂 Sounds like a fun trip.

    Looking good Freddy!

I’ve seen a few good reviews for Silence Fallen now, and it’s making me kinda anxious to get going with the Mercy books. One down, nine to go I guess lol.

    • Yeah, the South of France is always nice 🙂 I’m only going for the two days the festival happens, though, as I won’t get any time off when school’s in session 😀
I’ve seen great reviews for Silence Fallen, too, Greg. And I’m almost a little jealous of you, because you can binge-read the series 😀

  3. I’ve got no chance of getting to book conventions-in the UK they are always in the south of England which is too expensive for me to travel to and stay near, especially in London! Mind you at the moment I’m too tired to move about the house never mind get through a convention! Hello to the ever cute Freddy and have a good week!

  4. That’s too bad, Chuckles! I love London, so I’m very happy RARE will happen there. Of course, stuff is expensive there, but still! It’s not all that often famous US authors come to Europe, so I felt like I should make sure I’d be able to meet them 🙂
I hope your fatigue will end very soon!

  5. Oh nice! Lots of new to me ones here! But yay for planned book events!! I haven’t been to one since February, none planned as of yet and I am already getting the shakes! LOL! I need more author events in my life! Hope you both have fun!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

  6. You have a lot of trips planned this week. I hope you enjoy London and Berlin. I see Freddy looked like he didn’t want to pose… Have a lovely weekend.

  7. Oh yay for getting to go to rare! That should be awesome! 12 angry men is great. In college we viewed it as part of a political science class to examine the issues with evidence and procedures! Great movie but he totally violated the law and that convict could get it overturned! Have a great week!

  8. You have some great events ahead, and you are sure to enjoy each one, and score more books. Enjoy your haul this week…and thanks for sharing.

Freddy looks a little cross, as if his play time is not happening.

    Happy birthday to #3!

    Enjoy your week.

  9. I can stop feeling guilty for buying all the books I´ve bought lately. I am in good company here 🙂 Happy reading and I hope you will have fun over the next months with all those planned events.

    Best wishes

  10. I am cackling at “Hard Stick”! LOL! It sounds like a fun book.
That’s awesome that you and your daughter will be going to so many cool author events together. I want to read Black Hearts by Karina Halle! I love that cover and Ari from Day Dreaming Bookworm loved it, so I’m keen to read it.
And Freddie looks as cute as usual. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead, Lexxie! 🙂

    • IKR? How was I supposed to even try to resist that title? Like, really!
We’ll have some fun with these events, for sure, I’m so happy she’s started to read more, and that she enjoys some of the same authors as me! I look forward to reading Black Hearts, it looks fantastic.

  11. What a busy time! It sounds like you’re going to be having some fun! I hope you enjoy all your trips, exhaustion and all.

  12. Oh, you got Bad Girl Gone? I can’t decide on it. And damn, that’s a lot of Karina Halle you have there. <3 Sounds like you're gearing up for a good time. I love Twelve Angry Men – very powerful story. Happy Birthday to #3!

  13. I am so jealous right now. Hoover, Halle and Tucker? I would be in heaven! So are the same authors at the Berlin and London events or are they a different group? I wonder if Samantha Towle will be there? She’s a favorite of mine also. Do you read her? She’s from England. I so envy you living so close to all of these places. I hope you have a good week. We are having a snow storm as I write this so I will be staying inside!
