Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookviews and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.
STS #182
Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are bought, borrowed, won or ARCs I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:
I got a lovely e-mail from Carina Press yesterday, with TEN unsolicited kindle books… I haven’t had the time to sort through them and add them to Goodreads yet, but I will include titles and covers next week 🙂
Thank you, HarperCollins and Edelweiss!
Brandee and I won the Thirty Days trilogy by Belle Brooks on Belle’s Facebook page! 🙂
The Sunday Post # – Weekend Wrap-up
Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.
I had a fairly busy week, with all the teaching, and with writing for my thesis as well. Next week will be very short though, as we only work Monday-Wednesday before spring-break, and we’ll have ten days off. On Thursday morning, the girls, Freddy and I are driving to Spain for some much needed rest 🙂

Did you get some good books last week? What have you been up to this past week? Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’re enjoying your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!
Wow! You had a great haul this week. I got The Chosen, too.
Enjoy your Spring Break next week. 🙂
I am way behind in the BDB series, though, but I keep pre-ordering them, so hopefully, I’ll find the time to read them one day, too.
Thanks 🙂
Those Turning books look really great. I WILL read them someday… Awww and that picture of Freddy is so adorable! <3
They are HOT, Stephanie!
Freddy is such a sweetie!
Why is it that dogs look so cute when they are asleep! Love that pic of Freddy! Congrats on your book wins and have a good time in Spain!
I have no idea, Chuckles. We would look ridiculous in that position, that’s for sure 😀 *grins*
Thanks!
Ooh nice haul!! All new to me books, but I hope you will enjoy them all! Hope you get some good R&R in this weekend too after such a busy week! And poor Freddy, he looks like he needs a little R&R too after a busy week! Lol! 😉
My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
I hope so, too, Jessica! I will spend some time today and tomorrow to work on my thesis. But we also have some friends coming over this evening for some BBQ, beers and fun 🙂
Looks like a good haul! Not that I know any of them, haha. And eee, Freddy. <3
We have quite different tastes for most of the books we read, Nikki 🙂 And yeah, <3 Freddy ;)
All The Lies We Tell looks fab. I love that cover!
I agree, Chrissi, it looks really good 🙂
Great Haul!! And 10 new books from Carina Press…You are going to be BUSY! lol I hope you enjoy all of your new reads, and have a great weekend!
I don’t let the Carina Press books stress me out, though. They are happy whenever I get to read and review them, as they are unsolicited.
Thanks for stopping by, Julie 🙂
Hope you enjoy all your new books!!! Have aa wonderful time in Spain. Freddy is adorable as always 🙂 Have a great week!
Thanks, Grace 🙂 I really, really need a break, so having some time off is going to be very nice.
Awesome haul. Have a great time in Spain. It’s going to be a beautiful place to see. I love the Freddy pictures.
Grace
I’m sure I will, Grace 🙂 it’s always lovely to spend some time near the sea 🙂

Some great reads, I like the looks of The Child Finder, hope you enjoy them all!
Stormi
Yeah, The Child Finder was just irresistible to my clicking finger, Stormi 😀
I should follow Freddy’s example and take a nap! I have felt so tired all week, probably because of last weekend’s beach getaway.
The Child Finder and The Lightkeeper’s Daughters both grabbed my interest. Thanks for sharing, and have a great week. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
I ♡ naps, Laurel-Rain. It’s one of my favorite things in the world 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
I’m happy for you that you get to travel so much. I used to travel all over the place before kids… (ah, wistful sigh). I’m curious how you have connected to publishers directly. I get my ARCs through NetGalley and Edelweiss. I haven’t gotten up the nerve to write to publishers directly. I would love to review audio books! Have fun in Spain!
We continued to travel even when the children were tiny, and we’re happy, because now, they love that just as much as we did.
I think Carina Press started sending me e-mails with books after I went to BEA last year, as I got my first one in June, and at one of the author breakfasts, I sat at a table with several people in publishing, and they asked for my card… I got a contact with Tantor Audio through another blogger, Stormi, and if you’d like, I can ask if I can give her e-mail address to you 🙂
Thanks for stopping by, Ardis 🙂
Freddie is so adorable. I love the looks of The Child Finder and will have to check into it. Hope you enjoy all your books.
Thanks, Barb 🙂
Congrats on the book wins! I bet you are really looking forward to your time off in Spain. I get Friday off of work next week and I am so excited about it. Have a great week!
Thanks, Carole 🙂 I sure am looking forward to some time off in Spain. It will be so refreshing to have a change of scenery, even if I’ll have to bring my thesis with me 🙂
Yay for spring break! Spain sounds like a nice getaway. 🙂
Freddy sleeps like one of my cats does- on his back and just dead to the world, looks like.
Hope your short week is awesome.
I know, right? Heh, we usually joke around about Freddy being almost the size of a cat, but with the personality of a dog – so we get the best of both worlds :p
Wow! It sounds like you are going to have a fabulous spring break! And ten days off? I’m very jealous. Have a good week, and happy reading! 🙂
Yeah ten days off – which I really need about now. Thanks for stopping by, Anna 🙂
Sometimes busy is good right? But I’m sure you’re looking forward to some time off! And awww, haha, I love that picture of Freddy.
This kind of busy I’m having now is actually very nice – because it’s pretty balanced 🙂 I do look forward to some time off, though, it’s mostly going to be very nice to get a change in scenery 🙂

Ten books, oh my 😀 your TBR will be going crazy. But hey, I think you’re a fast reader, so maybe you can deal with it just fine 🙂
Ooh! Handmaid’s tale? That’s been going wild lately. Have you not read it yet? I loved it.
I know, right? I wasn’t even motivated to add them to my goodreads shelf… But I sure will.
No, I somehow haven’t read The Handmaid’s Tale yet. I own it – and have for a long time. But as you may have noticed, I add more books than I can read. However now with the TV series coming out, I want to see if it’s something I might want to use in my teaching. And the new audio was up for grabs, so I felt like I should use one of my credits 🙂
Thanks for stopping by, Evelina .)

Nothing new here, I add waaaay more books than I can read too 😀 I just put up a show of “trying” to contain the process. LOL
You should totally read the Handmaid’s Tale, it was wonderful! My first Atwood. I hope you have a review when you do finish it 🙂
Wow.. you have a lot of great looking books, Lexxie. I can’t wait to read the Chosen! Oh and so curious about All The Lies We Tell and Turning Back!!! They look yummy! 😉
I hope you enjoy them all. Have a great week. 😀
Yeah, I do, Geybie 🙂 I am behind on the BDB series, so I won’t be able to get to the Chosen straight away 🙂 Turning Back is probably next up 🙂
What a wonderful book haul and I notice that Legion is one of the books you’re reading – that wonderful cover has snagged my attention and I hope you’re enjoying it. What a lovely pic of Freddy:). I have a fortnight free of teaching coming up, but I have a stack of editing and next term’s course to write, as well as looking after the grandchildren – always a joy. Have a fabulous time in Spain, Lexxie:).
I just finished Legion, and it was awesome! It definitely took the dragon epicness to a higher level…
Enjoy your fortnight free of teaching, grandchildren must be fun 🙂 Thanks for stopping by.

TEN unsolicited ebooks! Wow! Good luck sorting through those and I hope you got some good ones!
Best of luck with the short week and I hope that the break is a good one! Freddy is sure to enjoy!
Thanks, Di 🙂 I do believe I need some encouragement to sort through them. And I am definitely excited about some 🙂
Thanks for stopping by.

Can’t wait to see what Ten you got and you got a lot this week also.
It’s that time again to head back to Spain, we will be heading to the shore soon for the weekends, I am looking forward to it.
Enjoy the break! Miss you! Have a great week! <3
I’m going to have to make a photo-op for those, Michelle. They look really good, so I was definitely a lucky gal.
I can’t even begin to say how happy I am it’s that time again 😉
Miss you too! Lots! <3
Ten is a lot of books. Enjoy!
Thanks, Deb 🙂
Great haul! I got the paperback version of The Handmaid’s Tale this month and I loved it! I hope you’ll enjoy all the books you got! Happy reading!
Awesome! I’ve ordered the paperback version to use for class, but having different media sometimes helps me use a different angle when I propose books to my students.
Thanks for stopping by, Lynn 🙂
Our spring break starts next week as well and I am thrilled!! I am so ready for the break. Enjoy the Handmaid’s tale! That book left me feeling super uncomfortable (but in a “wow that book is creepy good” kind of way). The idea of something like that ever happening….yikes!
Have a great week!
Oh my gosh! We so deserve a break, Samantha 😀 And I love that we both used spring break in our title for this week 😀
I know! The Handmaid’s Tale does seem chilling, and at the same time, I think it’s a book that could be very good for analysing in class.
Haha! I love that Freddy picture. One of my dogs sleeps upside down too. Enjoy spring break and your new books!
Dogs are so funny 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, Aj.
Looks like you’re all set for reading material on your break. Have fun in Spain you lucky gal! I just had 10 days off a week ago. Feels like a long time ago already. LOL Freddy sure looks like he needs some rest. LOL
If only, Laura. I am going to have to write quite a bit, but hopefully, I’ll have some time for reading as well 🙂
Thanks for stopping by.
They’re all new to me but I hope you’ll enjoyt hem. happy reading!
My goodness, it’s been a long time since I saw a novel from Megan hart and can’t wait to read your review. Looks like you received lots of goodies, including The Chosen. Happy Sunday! Hugs…
Wow at the the ubsolicited books from Carina. Hope there are some real gems in the mix. I can’t believe I haven’t read anything by Huss yet. I’ve had two of hers (Eighteen and Three Two One) sitting on my Kindle for ages but have yet to pick them up. Color me jealous of the getaway in Spain. I’m taking a week off in late April/Early May and am already counting the days. Hope you have a wonderful, relaxing time!
I’ve always wanted to go to Spain. I hope you enjoy your trip! I’d love 10 days+weekend for spring break. Most parents are taking that anyway, with kids leaving on the Thursday before school lets out for spring break or Christmas each year.
Great week you had! I hope you have a fun time in Spain!
Freddie looks like I feel 🙂 I’m on spring break this week as well, but I don’t have any exciting plans. I hope you enjoy your trip!
I’m curious about the audio of Handmaid’s Tale—can’t wait to see what you think of it!
I might have to check out the audio version of The Handmaid’s Tale. I tried to read it years ago but never really got into it at the time. I think I’d feel differently about the story now. I am also curious about the TV adaptation. The Lightkeeper’s Daughters looks pretty interesting too.
I hope you have a good week and enjoy your spring break 🙂
Sounds like a busy week but it’s all worth it. Spring break in Spain sounds amazing. I love when my puppies sleep on their backs. I read the Handmaids Tale back in high school my English teacher had us read and watch the movie at the time. So I’m a little curious to see it on netflix. I hope you enjoy your upcoming Spring break. Have a great week!!!
You have a great haul of new books. I just bought the first book of J.A. Huss’ Turning series. This sounds really good and I haven’t read her books yet. I hope you have a great spring break!
That’s awesome you have a short week at work and then ten days off! Sounds great. Aw, Freddy is too cute. I love napping with my dog.
10 Books, oh my, cannot wait to see what you got 😀
Busy week, but it seems to be going well. Love the doggy picture
The Handmaid’s Tale is one of my favourite Canadian books, I hope you enjoy the audio version Lexxie! It’s the perfect thing to listen to while cuddling with Freddy. 🙂
That’s very good to know, Danya! I hope I’ll enjoy it, too! I would really like to see if I can use it for one of my classes.
oh I hope you really enjoy reading Chosen…I do love J.R. Ward.

Can’t wait to see what you think of Dark House. It was the start of one of my very favorite series. And while Dark House isn’t necessarily my favorite in the series, it’s still a good introduction to the characters and I still gave it 5 stars I think. There’s others that deserve more than 5 stars I think! I love all your Freddy pictures. He’s such a cute dog! Have fun in Spain and enjoy your much needed time off. I was going to drive back home to Kentucky this coming weekend but had to put it on hold after my doctor appointment with my kidney doctor last week. Now more Doctor appointments, at least one more this week and maybe another one. I had really looked forward to going home. Oh well. Maybe in a few weeks depending.Safe travels!
Freddie is absolutely adorable! Our Mulligan kitty likes to sleep like that. So sweet!
Be Safe!

Freddy looks so comfortable in that picture LOL.
OMG Yay for 10 days off! That’s amazing. Enjoy!
I’m loving the cover for The Child Finder. I hadn’t heard of that one. I should listen to the audio for The Handmaid’s Tale. I’ve read it, but it’s been years (and years). Happy reading!

I’m so far behind on visiting blogs. I hope that you have a great rest in Spain.
