The Sunday Post #167 – Weekend Wrap-up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

Next week is the last week of school before the holidays, and I am so ready for some time off it’s not even funny! This week has been a bit lighter on the teaching front as two of my classes have their exam session. Which in turn means the week has been quite heavy on the grading front…

The weather has been awful, rain, fog, and mostly dark even during the day. Good thing we have our Christmas tree up, and that it’s nice, warm, and dry inside!

This week’s puppies in action:

Naptime, one short, one long 😉
Freddy - (un)Conventional Bookviews - Weekend Wrap-up
Freddy enjoyed the sun on Friday.

Hercules is learning to sit, and Freddy is so helpful!
Hercules - (un)Conventional Bookviews - Weekend Wrap-up
Hercules ran for a long time, and he didn’t tire for a while.

After all that playing, Hercules needed a bit of a rest, though.

  1. Ooh Lying in Wait looks good. Sorry to hear your weather’s been yucky though, here it’s just been snow and then more snow.

Hercules seems to be fitting in so well! That’s awesome. Love the pics, as always. 🙂

  2. Hercules is getting big! They are both so cute. Like you I’m hanging for the holidays now Lexxie, and Friday can’t come quick enough! I loved Lying in Wait by Liz Nugent. Happy reading and Happy Christmas!

  3. Very nice haul. Love your Secret Santa and pressies to you. Oh, I got those Tara Taylor’s too. Looking forward to them.

Ugh, grading, but glad its your last week before the break. Ah, Hercules and Freddy are so good together.

    Have a good week, Lexxie!

  4. Glad your break is coming up! I’ll admit that is one thing I miss about school days, the break that came with it! Lol! Aww! Your pups are so cute! Can’t believe how long Hercules is! So cute!! Glad Freddy is getting along with his bro so well!

And nice new reads!! Totally new to me ones but I hope you will love each and every one of them as you read them!!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

    • LOL, it IS nice to have a break coming up, especially because I think I’ll be finished with all my grading before then. I don’t have my lesson plans ready for the new semester yet, though, so I need to work on that as well.
I’m glad Freddy and Hercules are getting along so well, too. They are so cute together. Right now, I have one dog on each side of me on the couch while I comment and visit 😀

  5. I’m also coming up to the last week before a break and I am so ready for it, as are my class! I hope you have a fabulous last week before break and that you get some fab reading done! 🙂

  6. We have three days this week. Our unit test is on Tuesday and there will be a lot of students absent! Good luck with your grading. It is a pain!

    • I had one student absent from the exam… and I think she was absent from some other exams, too. Hopefully, she’s OK, and won’t have too much to catch up on.
Grading definitely is a pain! I hate it when students who are usually good give me a crappy copy 🙁

  7. Darn you Lexxie, I just one-clicked A Cruel Kind of Beautiful, I’m starting it today. You are right… present to one’s self are the best kind, I tell my husband that all the time 🙂 Every time I see Man Hands I think of the Seinfeld episode – Jerry dates a girl but she has man hands and it bothers him… I hope you enjoy your break, hopefully it will be relaxing for you. And as always it’s always a treat to see Freddy and Hercules, have a wonderful day and happy reading.

  8. Yay for Man Hands. I hope you’ll enjoy it, Lexxie. Your other new books sound great as well. It’s almost Christmas week! Enjoy your last days of work, my friend. Have a wonderful weekend and happy reading. ?❤️??

    • The copies I’ve graded so far weren’t very good, Carole, I really hope the rest will be better.

I am so happy it’s almost break time – it’s the light at the end of the tunnel 🙂

I love the personalized signing, too 🙂 It made me smile so big!

  9. Aw your pups are so cute! Gifts to yourself are definitely the best kind 🙂 I hope you enjoy your new reads!

    Have a wonderful Christmas!

  10. I hope you get all your school work done before the break and just relax. I wish I had off with the kids the week of Christmas. I only took the day after Christmas. I am looking forward to relaxing New years Weekend.
Those Fur-Babies are getting so big.

I hope you have an amazing week, Lexxie! Happy Reading! Miss you lots! ox

    • I kind of have to get all that school work done before the break, as I’m traveling… more about that next week 😉
Oh that’s sad! I have been lucky in most of my jobs, as the offices I worked in before I started teaching closed between Christmas and New Year’s.
      Miss you lots, too! xoxo

  11. I hope you get through the grading quickly. I can’t imagine the pressure of being a professor. I’m amazed you get anything outside of school done. The pups are so cute. Thanks for always sharing pictures of them. Have a great week!

  12. I recall all too clearly how exhausting the end of the Autumn term used to be when I was teaching full-time – I hope you get a chance to put your feet up and get a break. Though here, the children seem to go back to school ridiculously early – the first week in January – which I think is too soon. Sorry your weather is so dire – trouble with this time of year when it is grotty is that the light levels are so very low! Hope you have a smooth, untroubled last week at school – and thank you for sharing the dog pics – they are adorable…

  13. Looks like Freddy and Herc are getting along great. I hope you have a great Christmas break. I love that you got all of those Tiffany Reisz. I’ve read all of those except Mischief. I have it and will need to read it, but I might wait until next Halloween.

  14. RO

Ah…Swiss Miss is a pretty cool new name, Lexxie. (lol) Kudos on getting so many new good reads for your shelves. As always, I just enjoy looking at the happiness your dogs display. That makes for a great day! Hugs…RO

  15. Can Hercules get any longer? I swear they are both so adorable. I really want that Sherlock book. I’ve become really obsessed with Sherlock this year. Have a wonderful week and Christmas!

  16. Nice haul! Looks like you got a bunch of new books last week! That sounds nice it was lighter with teaching even tough it was heavier on the grading. Your puppies are so cute! I always love seeing the pictures of your dogs! Have a great week!
