Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookviews and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.
STS #217
Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are bought, borrowed, won or ARCs I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:
Thank you Donna Cummings!
Thank you St. Martin’s Paperback!!
Thank you Gallery Books and Edelweiss!
Thank you Thistle Press.
I ordered some signed books from Tiffany Reisz’ website and just received them. Christmas presents from me to me – the best ones 🙂
I received both of these amazing gifts from my COYER secret Santa. Thank you! <3
The Sunday Post #167 – Weekend Wrap-up
Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.
Next week is the last week of school before the holidays, and I am so ready for some time off it’s not even funny! This week has been a bit lighter on the teaching front as two of my classes have their exam session. Which in turn means the week has been quite heavy on the grading front…
The weather has been awful, rain, fog, and mostly dark even during the day. Good thing we have our Christmas tree up, and that it’s nice, warm, and dry inside!
This week’s puppies in action:
- [14 Dec] Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #139 – Holiday Wishes
- [14 Dec] Blogtour and Giveaway: A Cruel Kind of Beautiful – Michelle Hazen
- [15 Dec] 2018 Audiobook Challenge Sign-up Post
- [16 Dec] Weekend Wrap-up #217 – Last Week of School
- [18 Dec] 2018 NetGalley and Edelweiss Reading Challenge
- [21 Dec] Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #140 – Man Hands
- [23 Dec] Weekend Wrap-up #218 – Have Yourself a Very Merry Christmas

Did you get some good books last week? What have you been up to this past week? Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’re enjoying your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!
Ooh Lying in Wait looks good. Sorry to hear your weather’s been yucky though, here it’s just been snow and then more snow.
Hercules seems to be fitting in so well! That’s awesome. Love the pics, as always. 🙂
I agree, Lying in Wait looks awesome.
Apparently, it snowed last night, but it’s all melted now, apart from on the mountain I see from my house.
Have a great weekend Greg!
Hercules is getting big! They are both so cute. Like you I’m hanging for the holidays now Lexxie, and Friday can’t come quick enough! I loved Lying in Wait by Liz Nugent. Happy reading and Happy Christmas!
Hercules is actually heavier than Freddy now.
One more week, and I’m off for two weeks, it’s gong to be so, so good!
Very nice haul. Love your Secret Santa and pressies to you. Oh, I got those Tara Taylor’s too. Looking forward to them.
Ugh, grading, but glad its your last week before the break. Ah, Hercules and Freddy are so good together.
Have a good week, Lexxie!
I love my Secret Santa pressies, too 🙂 I don’t know who it is yet… I’m trying to figure it out 😉
I’m looking forward to the Tara Taylor books, they look really good.
Thanks for stopping by Sophia 🙂
Glad your break is coming up! I’ll admit that is one thing I miss about school days, the break that came with it! Lol! Aww! Your pups are so cute! Can’t believe how long Hercules is! So cute!! Glad Freddy is getting along with his bro so well!
And nice new reads!! Totally new to me ones but I hope you will love each and every one of them as you read them!!
My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
LOL, it IS nice to have a break coming up, especially because I think I’ll be finished with all my grading before then. I don’t have my lesson plans ready for the new semester yet, though, so I need to work on that as well.
I’m glad Freddy and Hercules are getting along so well, too. They are so cute together. Right now, I have one dog on each side of me on the couch while I comment and visit 😀
I love the puppy pictures. 😀 And it looks like a great haul. When’re you gonna find the time to enjoy all these?!
Well, I do have two weeks of vacation coming up in a week, plus a very long flight… we shall see 😉
I’m also coming up to the last week before a break and I am so ready for it, as are my class! I hope you have a fabulous last week before break and that you get some fab reading done! 🙂
My classes are at least as ready for some time off as I am, Chrissi. Good thing it’s just around the corner 🙂
I’ve been eyeing Lying in Wait…hope you love it!
Great puppy antics. They have so much fun together, don’t they? Do they create trouble?
Enjoy your week…and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
Of course the puppies create some trouble, and then, Freddy manages to make us think he didn’t do anything wrong 😀
You are the best shopper for yourself 😉 Glad you got some great new reads!
I agree, I give myself the best gifts 🙂
We have three days this week. Our unit test is on Tuesday and there will be a lot of students absent! Good luck with your grading. It is a pain!
I had one student absent from the exam… and I think she was absent from some other exams, too. Hopefully, she’s OK, and won’t have too much to catch up on.
Grading definitely is a pain! I hate it when students who are usually good give me a crappy copy 🙁
Darn you Lexxie, I just one-clicked A Cruel Kind of Beautiful, I’m starting it today. You are right… present to one’s self are the best kind, I tell my husband that all the time 🙂 Every time I see Man Hands I think of the Seinfeld episode – Jerry dates a girl but she has man hands and it bothers him… I hope you enjoy your break, hopefully it will be relaxing for you. And as always it’s always a treat to see Freddy and Hercules, have a wonderful day and happy reading.
Sorry not sorry, Jovita! I’m sure you deserve a present 😉
I just finished Man Hands, and it was hilarious!
Yay for Man Hands. I hope you’ll enjoy it, Lexxie. Your other new books sound great as well. It’s almost Christmas week! Enjoy your last days of work, my friend. Have a wonderful weekend and happy reading. ?❤️??
Man Hands was so much fun, Geybie! Were you nervous I wouldn’t enjoy it? :p
Have a wonderful Sunday, my friend.
Freddy and Hercules are adorable as always! Nice that it is almost break time hopefully grading won’t be two bad. Enjoy all of your new books! I love how Tiffany Riesz personalized the book for you!
The copies I’ve graded so far weren’t very good, Carole, I really hope the rest will be better.
I am so happy it’s almost break time – it’s the light at the end of the tunnel 🙂
I love the personalized signing, too 🙂 It made me smile so big!
I always wish for sun in the winter. The thing is, when we get it, it turns so cold. LOL Great haul of books. And time to read them too:) The pups are so precious. I love the pictures you share!
My Sunday Post
I don’t mind the cold so much, I have clothes to help with that… but the gloomy, foggy, dark, dank days just make me want to stay in bed.
Aw your pups are so cute! Gifts to yourself are definitely the best kind 🙂 I hope you enjoy your new reads!
Have a wonderful Christmas!
Thanks 🙂 I certainly think they’re the cutest 😉

Thanks for sharing my post again 🙂 it’s awesome that you got a signed book! That’s always so cool 🙂
Have a great week, Lexxie 🙂
All the Tiffany Reisz books are signed 🙂 She does these signings on her website every now and then – and she ships internationally (which, I pay for, but still – I get the signed books!).
Have a great week yourself 🙂
Ughh! School work can be so tiresome at times! Glad you are getting a well needed rest! Have a nice weekend!
Thanks Ronyell 🙂

I hope you get all your school work done before the break and just relax. I wish I had off with the kids the week of Christmas. I only took the day after Christmas. I am looking forward to relaxing New years Weekend.
Those Fur-Babies are getting so big.
I hope you have an amazing week, Lexxie! Happy Reading! Miss you lots! ox
I kind of have to get all that school work done before the break, as I’m traveling… more about that next week 😉
Oh that’s sad! I have been lucky in most of my jobs, as the offices I worked in before I started teaching closed between Christmas and New Year’s.
Miss you lots, too! xoxo

Merry Christmas and have a well deserved time off
Still another week to go, Ailyn, but it’s almost there 🙂
I hope the grading goes well this week!
Have a great week!
Thanks, Chrissy 🙂

I hope you get through the grading quickly. I can’t imagine the pressure of being a professor. I’m amazed you get anything outside of school done. The pups are so cute. Thanks for always sharing pictures of them. Have a great week!
I hope I’ll get through the rest of the grading quickly, too. The exams were in three parts, I’ve done the easiest… now, I have the essays to grade for most of the copies.
Thanks for stopping by, Karen! xoxo
I recall all too clearly how exhausting the end of the Autumn term used to be when I was teaching full-time – I hope you get a chance to put your feet up and get a break. Though here, the children seem to go back to school ridiculously early – the first week in January – which I think is too soon. Sorry your weather is so dire – trouble with this time of year when it is grotty is that the light levels are so very low! Hope you have a smooth, untroubled last week at school – and thank you for sharing the dog pics – they are adorable…
They’re all new to me there! Happy reading girl!
So many pretty books!! And what a great gift to yourself! I love that! The dogs are adorable!

So cool you got the book for review! I will be anxious to see what you think. Yay for school breaks. Too bad the snow didn’t stick around, but nice all the same.
Hope the week ahead is a good one as we prepare for the holiday.
Wow, you got a lot of books. I hope you like them all. Enjoy your time off, and have a great week!

Looks like Freddy and Herc are getting along great. I hope you have a great Christmas break. I love that you got all of those Tiffany Reisz. I’ve read all of those except Mischief. I have it and will need to read it, but I might wait until next Halloween.
Ah…Swiss Miss is a pretty cool new name, Lexxie. (lol) Kudos on getting so many new good reads for your shelves. As always, I just enjoy looking at the happiness your dogs display. That makes for a great day! Hugs…RO
Can Hercules get any longer? I swear they are both so adorable. I really want that Sherlock book. I’ve become really obsessed with Sherlock this year. Have a wonderful week and Christmas!
Hope you get through this next week and have a lovely holiday! The doggies are so cute. Enjoy your new books and have a great week!
I’ve had lots of grading to do for my classes as well this past week. Now I need to plan for next semester! 🙂
Nice haul! Looks like you got a bunch of new books last week! That sounds nice it was lighter with teaching even tough it was heavier on the grading. Your puppies are so cute! I always love seeing the pictures of your dogs! Have a great week!
