Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookviews and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.
STS #224
Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are bought, borrowed, won or ARCs I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:
Thank you Gallery Books, Oceanview Publishing, Avon, and Edelweiss!
The Sunday Post # – Weekend Wrap-up
Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.
This week felt so very long – partly, I think – because next week is winter break. I really need a breather. We’ve had so many meetings, and to have a quiet week will do me good. Plus, my husband is off to Montreal for the PeeWee tournament the whole week, and three of my children are going to Norway to see my mom and sister. So I won’t have to do much – nor leave the house – if I don’t want to. Doesn’t that sound like heaven?

Did you get some good books last week? What have you been up to this past week? Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’re enjoying your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!
Hope you have a great week, nice and relaxing! And cute pics- the dogs look like they are enjoying the attention. 🙂
The Last Girl looks intriguing!
It’s quite the change from last week’s pic, right? I hope I’ll have a very nice and quiet week, too. I really need it!

Pups! They’re so cute. ???
I’m so jealous with winter break – I would love to have another break since the spring semester is brutal. ?
Spring semester is also so much longer than the fall semester. I’m very happy we have a week off now, and then the first ten days of April we have another break. It’s what makes it all doable :9
I find the time right before a work vacation or a trip I’m anticipating just drags by, too. Looks like you have some nice quiet plans for your school break. And, look at that fun stack of books you got just in time. I’ve been meaning to try that Kate Meader series. Hope its good.
Oh, poor Hercules. Hope he feels better from his surgery. That’s sweet how Freddy missed him.
Enjoy your weekend, Lexxie!
I agree! Between the anticipation of having time off, and wanting it to be there already it’s pretty hard that last week. Now, though, I’m just enjoying the time off already.
Hercules was back to his normal self yesterday, and he’s doing really well. Freddy is happy to have his ‘little’ brother back home, too. He seemed so lost without him.
Twitter: Mlsimmons
That is so sweet that Freddy was upset about Hercules being gone. I’m glad that they are best buds. I hope you enjoy your time off. Those little staycations are great. A great way to reboot. I hope you have some great reading.
I am so happy they have become such good friends, too, Melanie! They are so very cute together.
A staycation is just what I need now – it’s going to be awesome to have the house to myself!
OOh nice new reads! Totally new to me ones! Hope you enjoy them all!
The puppies are still soooo cute! Glad to hear things are going well with you too!
My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
I hope I’ll enjoy them, too, Jessica… The two I couldn’t wait to read were really good, so I’m on the right track!
Silent Victim sounds really good, I like a good mystery/thriller. Your dogs are adorable!
I really enjoy thrillers, too, but I have to be in the right mood for them. Silent Victim does look good, and I look forward to diving in 😉
I am so excited for the Kate Meader book, and that Sabrina Jeffries one looks good!
Btw. I love your pups! So cute!
I already read the Meader book, Astrid, and it was so very good! I loved it 🙂 Thanks, I think they’re cute too, which is why they’re always a part of my weekly wrap-up post 🙂
Oooooh! I have yet to read the novella, which is coming up very soon – hopefully the week after next! I’m hyped that Violent and Bren didn’t disappoint!
The novella was great, too 🙂
Also… I get an error message when I try to go to your blog, Astrid. Not sure if it’s only me – but I thought I’d let you know.
Argh. There is a typo in the url and of course I used the autofill the second time. Thank you for the heads up!
I bet…:D Dante *swoon*
Silent Victim looks intriguing.
I love how dogs like to curl up inside things when they need comfort…Sad doggy!
Enjoy your week, and thanks for sharing.
I agree, Laurel-Rain, it sounds really good and I look forward to getting started!
Fabulous looking books! 🙂 I like the look of Silent Victim. I’m just starting a week’s break which feels much needed… I do have reports to write but ah well! 🙂 Have a good break!
YAY, Chrissi, we both have a week off. I will have stuff to do, too, but I can do it from home, and that changes everything.
Great haul this week! Your puppies are so cute!!! Hope you are having a great weekend. Thanks for sharing!
My STT
Thanks 🙂
I’m glad you’ll get a reprieve! The breaks are much needed for teachers. Enjoy your days home – or out if you want to! Freddy looks so sad without Hercules!
Ha! This is so very true. Students think they need a break, but they know nothing 😀
Freddy was so sad without Hercules, and now, they’re so happy to be together again, it’s awesome.
oh poor Hercules! I hope he feels better now 🙁 Omg that DOES sound like heaven Lexx ! would Hercules and Freddy be with you though, They are so adorable I can’t even! really cute models indeed.
Hercules is back to his normal self again, thank goodness! I felt so bad for him, but at the same time, I didn’t want him to go crazy and try to leave the yard later on if he wasn’t castrated.
Already, the house is so nice and quiet. I love it!
Awww those puppy photos. The paws of Hercules on that first picture. So adorable! 😀
I agree, Stephanie, it’s as if he has arranged his paws to look the very best 😀
Enjoy your break! Hopefully you’ll be able to get lots of reading done.
There will definitely be reading done, Aj, and hopefully, some review-writing as well. I’ve been pretty good lately, but I still have a backlog since I read more than I review these days.
I am practically drooling over your new books! They all sound so good. Your upcoming week sounds divine, Lexxie! I hope you enjoy your winter break. I have Monday off from work (it’s a holiday for the government, but not for the schools), and I am looking forward to having the day to myself. I have a lot to do–but it will be all mine. Such cuties you have there! I hope Hercules is feeling better after his surgery. Have a great week, Lexxie!
Having the Monday off sounds nice, too, it’s an extra day to the weekend. I’m pretty sure I’m going to love my week. The dogs and I will be happy in the quiet house for sure.
Thanks! I can’t wait to read these books – already devoured Hooked On You and Disturbing His Peace, and I loved them.
The week before a break is always so long. LOL It sounds like you’ll be chilling with the pups and some good books. They look adorable. The dogs, I mean. LOL It’s so sweet that they’ve bonded so much that they miss each other:)
I know! Between the anticipation of knowing there is a full week off, and having to finish up things before that can happen it’s hard to get time to move that last week.
Your pups are just too cute. Have ag reat week 🙂
Thanks, Maree!
Ya, I bet your pups were sad about that surgery. lol Hopefully Hercules will be feeling more like himself as the week goes on. Have a great week, and enjoy your break! 🙂
Thankfully, Hercules is back to his normal self, and I’m glad.
Poor Hercules. He’s so big now! Enjoy your break, dearie! 😀
Yeah, he’s gotten really big! Much bigger than poor Freddy who still acts like the alpha 😀
Thank you! I will do my best to have a good week 😉
That does sound like heaven! Staying in and not having go anywhere if you don’t want to, your dogs are adorable <3
Sometimes, it’s the best kind of vacation. No responsibilities apart from the dogs, and just relax and let my body rest.
I confess that the books are all new to me but I hope you’ll enjou them! happy reading!
Thanks Melliane xoxo

Wow, a quiet week! I just had one of those. The step-kids were gone to Disney World. Hope it goes great!

Those quiet weeks are so nice, aren’t they? I’m sure the step-kids had a lot of fun, too 🙂

Wait, is Herc ALREADY bigger than Freddy?? :O that was fast! They are sooooo cute though 🙂
Yeah, after only six months, Hercules is quite a bit bigger than Freddy. Freddy is still very much the boss, though, thank goodness 😀
Damn, you post every day of the week! That is a mighty feat from where I come from. And you read loads as well. You make me wonder how do you even do it!
yeah, when I can manage to, I have a post every day. It doesn’t always happen that way, though. And I’m an incredibly fast reader, so don’t feel bad!!
Thanks for stopping by.

Poor Hercules! How adorable that Freddy missed him!!! Hercules is so much bigger than Freddy, they are so adorable, those faces! 🙂
I am so jealous of your week, we always have people coming and going in this house. I am never alone. Enjoy your week of heaven! <3
I hope you this week is awesome for you! Happy Reading! I miss your face! Don't forget to send me the dates so I can figure out when we can get together! 🙂
Yes, it was adorable indeed, Michelle. And he was so happy when Hercules came back home, even if he didn’t understand why he was so quiet.
Usually, our house is really busy too, and it’s going to be so very nice to have a week to myself with only the dogs and my oldest son at home.
I’ll e-mail you today to let you know my dates and times, my dear <3

Oh poor Hercules!! How sweet that Freddy missed him. 🙂
Hope you enjoy those lovely books!

Week in Review
It kind of made me happy that Freddy missed Hercules, because I really wanted a second dog for Freddy – and for us, of course – so he would have a playmate 🙂
Quiet time home alone sounds great, enjoy it! The books look good, especially Disturbing His Peace. Hercules and Freddy are too cute, I hope he is feeling better. Enjoy your week!
Disturbing His Peace was totally awesome! I loved this final story in the series 🙂 My review won’t post for a while, though, as the release is in May.
I’m very happy with my quiet week, it just feels nice to not have to leave the house if I don’t want to 😀 Plus, I have the dogs to keep me company.

Winter break sounds lovely. I have some big work projects right now and spent last week catching up on the 25+ reviews I had to write for the blog. This week I need to spend a few hours each evening on projects. Enjoy your break my friend!!
Oh wow, Kim! 25 reviews? I have quite a bunch to write to, but I haven’t counted them, I was afraid it would discourage me 😀
I hope you’re feeling better, and that those reviews and other projects will be done smoothly.
Oh my goodness. Your dogs are adorable. I hope Hercules has a speedy recovery.
Thank you Kristin. I think they’re adorable, too 😀 Hercules is back to his normal, boisterous self now, so that’s good.
I really enjoyed Indecent Exposure as well! I wasn’t thrilled with book 1 in the series so liking Katie and Jack so much was a pleasant surprise!
Enjoy your winter break-not leaving the house is my idea of a perfect week!
I didn’t love the first book in the series either, but then, the next two really worked well for me – which just goes to show that if the writing is good, I want to keep on going 🙂
Breaks are the best! It sounds like you’re going to have an awesome one. Your dogs are so cute! The Last Girl looks intriguing. Happy reading!
I agree, Natalie, being able to stay home is really nice. I do think I’ll go for a long walk with the dogs today, though, because the sun is shining, and it’s really gorgeous out there 😀
The Silent Victim looks like a good one. Being homebound for a bit sounds cozy. Enjoy.
It does look good, I agree. That’s why I was unable to resist 😀 Being homebound by choice is the best.
Enjoy your winter break! I hope you get some relaxation in!
I already feel so rested, as I didn’t get up at 6 am, but rather at 8am… I got a good night’s sleep and that’s awesome.
I also have half term coming up and am looking forward to tucking into some writing and editing… Poor Hercules – I hope he feels better, but it certainly looks as through they have fully bonded if Freddy was also upset at his absence. Enjoy your break!
Spending our time differently is such a treat, isn’t it, Sarah? I hope your break will be a good one with the things you plan to do.
It made me so happy to see how Freddy acted without Hercules in the house, because yes, it does mean they have bonded. And they are so cute when they’re together.
Hope you enjoy your break. Stay home and cuddle with the pups – sounds like a great week to me.
It’s exactly the kind of break I wanted and needed right now, Barb 🙂
Hope you have a wonderful winter break!
Thank you Ronyell 🙂 I’m already enjoying it! The sun is shining, I got up two hours later than a normal Monday, and the house is nice and quiet apart from the dogs playing 😀
Aw, poor Hercules…and lonely Freddy! Yay for winter break. I could use a break. LOL I do have next Monday off though, so that’s something to look forward to.
It’s all good now, though, Hercules is back to his normal self, nagging Freddy to play when Freddy wants to lounge in the sun 😀
I just enjoying seeing photos of Hercules and Freddy. Wishing Hercules a speedy recovery. Enjoy your time with the house to yourself… no husband, no children = uninterrupted reading.
Thanks Jovita! Hercules is back to normal, so that’s a relief. Uninterrupted reading sounds like heaven, and I’m so happy I decided to stay home 😉

I love that your dogs are such good buddies. So cute together. What’s a pee wee tournament? Baseball?Just curious if it’s the same as here. Looks like you got some new good books! Enjoy!
I love that they get along so well, too. It would be hell if they didn’t!
PeeWee tournament is ice hockey, and the team is with young boys who are 12 years old. It’s a huge deal in hockey, and they were so excited to go all the way to Canada from Switzerland 🙂 It’s the third year my husband coaches a team, but he was excited to go, too.
I’m jealous of your winter break. I wish I had one too – however, I do have my Tuesday (tomorrow) free since it’s Carnaval where I live.
Also, to be all by yourself and not have to go out does sound like haven to me. 😉
I hope you have the chance to read wonderful books.
Happy readings!
Tânia @MyLovelySecret
Oh, the carnaval sounds like fun, Tânia 🙂 Are you going to watch it, or just stay home and relax with a good book?
Your furry guys are both so gorgeous! I’m really jealous as I’d love to cuddle up beside them and read! Thanks for stopping by my blog this week!
I love them! And I love it even more when I can spend the whole day with them 🙂
I hope you have a relaxing week Lexxie.
I read that Meader book over the weekend and enjoyed it.
Karen @ For What It’s Worth
I already read it, too, Karen, and I loved it 🙂 I just couldn’t resist diving right in 🙂
I can not wait to start the Academy Series by Tessa Bailey. Hercules and Freddy are so cute. I hope Hercules is feeling better. That is so sweet Freddy missed hus buddy. I love their names. Have a nice winter break.
Happy Reading
JoLee
It’s a great series, JoLee, I wasn’t completely wow’ed by the first book, but I really loved the premise and the characters 🙂
Having the whole house to yourself is really going to be something glorious! A bit of me time is always appreciated and I hope you can enjoy doing whatever you want to 🙂
Hi!
The boys are adorable. So sad Freddie missed his buddy while Hercules was away. A very nice travel carrier.
Ah, alone time. What to do? 🙂 Are you watching any of the Olympics? Norway is doing really well. Congratulations!
I’m seriously in love with the layers on The Last Girl cover. Your dogs are gorgeous too, give them a cuddle from me!
Vee @ Under The Mountain
I’m going to have to add a few of these books to my wishlist. The pups take the most adorable pictures!
