The Sunday Post #120 – Weekend Wrap-up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

Oh my gosh! What a busy, busy week! Remember last week, I told you I had a lot of substitute teaching hours? Well, on Monday night, four more hours per week were added to my schedule at the same school. And while I’m very happy about having work until at least the beginning of March – and getting handsomely paid, too – it is a lot of work! I have two first year classes, two second year classes and one 2nd year AP class, so the work is diverse and interesting 🙂

This Week’s Freddy in Action:

And we got snow this week! Freddy goes crazy with the white stuff, and it’s so much fun to watch him go 🙂 Just look and tell me he’s not too cute:

Freddy in the snow for the very first time!
Freddy in complete inaction <3
Hanging out in the wrong chair again…

    • It sounds really good, Gen, and I sure hope it will work for me. I know you didn’t like Lucian Divine, and I’ve read some other reviews that weren’t positive either. Hopefully, my expectations will be lower and I’ll like it.
Yeah, totally abandonment in Freddy’s body there as he’s on his back – without any worries 😀

  1. Lol about Freddy- he always looks like he’s having fun. 🙂 I have a cat who does that- in the 2nd pic- just kinda totally lays like that, it cracks me up. Glad he got some snow to play in! Ours mostly melted after it warmed up (for one day)! then it got cold again. 🙁

Yay for the work pickup! And hope next week is a good one too.

    • It doesn’t really look all that comfortable, Greg, but it must be, as he often sleeps like that 🙂
Our snow doesn’t look like it’s going to stay. It snowed a lot yesterday, but it’s already kind of melting, and it’s supposed to get really cold this weekend. Oh well…

  2. I love your wrap up posts! And so happy to hear that you´re getting so many extra hours at work 🙂 Her i Brønnøysund har vi også snø akkurat nå, og vi håper vi rekker å dra på tur i helgen før regnet og vinden tar over igjen. Ønsker deg en herlig helg, klem fra Anette 🙂

  3. Looks like Freddy is having fun in the snow this week! We had one day and night of snow before it all melted away but it is colder this week. Glad I’m not planning to do more than venture out to the bin! I’ll just stay nice and snug indoors and read! Hope you get time to relax after your busy week!

  4. I can’t wait to find out what you think of Lucian Divine. I have heard from several people that they didn’t like it much so I’m waiting a little while with buying it myself to get some more feedback. We had snow last week saturday but it was already gone the day after so I couldn’t enjoy it much. Still holding out hope on some more snow soon, though.

  5. Wow, more hours. That’s good, but I’m sure it had you trying to hurry and set up a new schedule for your life.

Fun to see him encounter snow the first time. I adopted a cat who lived in warm California to live in Michigan and that poor guy freaked out when he stepped out into snow for the first time. Jumped straight up and then ran back in the house refusing to ever go out if the ground was white.

Nice haul of books. Now that was good advice from Brandee because of the crossover elements between the two series. I’ve read both the books. I notice she does that with a few others of her series. In fact, I’ve seen Rock Chicks, Unfinished Hero, Dream Man, and Chaos MC characters all mixing and matching a little in Dream Man, but a lot in Chaos MC.

    Have a good week, Lexxie!

    • I know, it’s great to have as many hours as possible. And it’s also good for me to say ‘yes’ as much as possible, as I need a job for the whole year starting in late August… so I need to make a good impression 😀
Oh my… I bet a cat who was used to hot weather wouldn’t enjoy the white, cold stuff very much!
I haven’t read Motorcycle Man / Dream Man, but I have read the whole Chaos MC series 😀

  6. Great haul this week! I hope you enjoy all of your new books. Freddy is adorable in the snow. One of our dogs wasn’t sure that they wanted to step in it last week when we got a dusting but they finally did. That is great news about the substitute work! You will be busy but it should be worth it in the end.

  7. Freddy is so adorable! We got a little bit of snow here earlier in the week but it’s all melted now. We’ve had the craziest up and down weather. One day it was 63 degrees and the next it dropped down to the 30s. Gross! I’m curious to hear what you think about Lucian Divine. I thought it sounded really good but a lot of people seem disappointed by it. Hopefully you will enjoy it more!

Hope you have a great weekend!

    • I agree, he’s so adorable I almost can’t stand it, Julie 😀
It sounds exhausting to have the weather up and down like that – I sometimes wish I could hibernate 😀
I hope I’ll enjoy Lucian Divine more than most of my blogger friends, too!

  8. Freddie is so cute! Love his reaction to the snow! And it doesn’t look like he thinks he’s in the wrong chair! LOL!

Nice new reads too! All totally new to me ones! Hope you enjoy them all!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

Your dog looks so adorable! Can’t wait to see your thoughts on Lori Foster and Jill Shalvis, 2 of my fave authors. Kudos on the teaching jobs, and looks like you have a really good mix of books. Happy Saturday

  10. LOL. Freddie is adorable in that snow. Dogs love the snow for some reason because it’s cold and soft I think and is soothing to them. Great haul of books this week.

  11. I always say, having a busy sched is a blessing (and a burden on certain moments) with the “it could be worse” mindset. Like now, my weekend is free, I just woke up an hour ago and I’m already bored to tears! lol

Have a good weekend! More money, more $$ for books!

  12. It’s icy and rainy over here right now, and I am not a huge fan! Snow is one thing, but ice… no thank you. Ugh!

One of my bloggy friends would be super jealous to see you’ve got How to Make a Wish! She’s a huge fan of the author. I’m not too familiar with the author’s books, but I like the excitement. I hope you enjoy all of your new books!

Have a lovely weekend, Lexxie. =)

    Check out my STS post!

  13. Freddy’s IG video in the snow is too adorable! My dogs love snow as well! I got Jordan Reclaimed by Scarlett Cole as well and I am super excited! I’m excited for it because I loved her previous series. Hope you have a great week!

  14. Freddy knows where to sit after playing in the snow…he looks cozy there!

I loved Don’t You Cry…and Accidentally on Purpose looks tempting.

Congrats on the extra work….which goes to show we have to be careful what we wish for! Enjoy.

  15. Love the look of some of your ARCs Lexxie!

And the extra teaching hours and $ sound great, but is a double-edged sword I guess as it means less time for other stuff!

I hope Freddy’s enjoying the snow now!

  16. “But Then I Came Back” is such an interesting title. I’m already curious to know what it was that she left and came back to! That does sound like a busy week, but that’s awesome about getting such diverse classes so that you won’t ever get bored. And awww it was Freddy’s first time in snow? How cute that must’ve been!

  17. Being Paid Handsomely sounds fantastic. I am paid ugly! lol I need to move closer to you.
I am glad you got some work and are able to work until March, I have my fingers crossed you are able to find something permanent.

I saw the video of Freddy in the snow, he looked so cute and very happy. Dexter loves the snow too. He gets it all over his face because he sticks in face right in it. 🙂

I hope you have a great week, Lexxie! I really do miss your face! oxox Happy Reading!

  18. Two Eve books, can’t go wrong with that. I’ve requested Becoming Dragon too. I haven’t gotten my copy yet. I hope that book will show up soon on my doorstep. I loved that video of your puppy in the snow. My brother just got a puppy too, a cream colored Golden Retriever. I just got a video of it last night. 🙂 Glad you had a good week, even if busy.

Freddy is, indeed, the embodiment of cuteness. <3

I can't wait for the review of the book you were reading this week, Taking Turns. You status update made me SOOOO Curious!!!

oh well… I'll probably get that book.

  20. YAY for work! It’s always one of those things that we kind NEED, but at the same time, dislike over abundance of…

That book by JA Huss has be curious… I haven’t read anything by her but I know she writes some hot books HAHAHAHA Have a good week!

  21. Aww Freddy is definitely a cute one (I have a westie called Freddie, and his twin brother George… plus another called Max – they’re hard work).

I hoep you enjoy your books + get through all that work fairly easily 🙂 At least its a range of stuff huh? Keeps it interesting, or maybe that just makes it harder :p

    • That’s so cute that one of your dogs is named Freddie 🙂 I bet having three is a lot of work! But I still want a second dachshund so that Freddy won’t be the only dog in the family.
I think teaching different things is great, because it doesn’t give me a chance to get bored.

  22. Congrats on the added hours! I know it is a lot, but probably worth it. I hope you’ll still have time to work on your thesis as well. Freddy is so adorable!

Wow, that’s quite a full course load to be teaching! How’s your time for writing? I know it’s got to be a lot to juggle. Great diversity of classes though 🙂

Freddy is too freaking cute! Buffy loves to play in the snow (something we do NOT have in common lol)

Have a great week! miss you xoxoxo

  24. Good luck with the extra hours! I hope you enjoy.

Freddy is just super cute – love those pics! My fur baby will be 5 this year and I can’t believe it – where did five years even go? I noticed it the most now that my friend has a new puppy and I see just how much my boy isn’t a puppy anymore ?

    Wishing you a lovely week!

  25. You managed a good looking book haul, my dear. Scarlett Cole? Tiffany Reisz? Renee Carlino?? Fantastic! And I’m happy to see For You made it into your library as well. 🙂 I hope you’re not getting worked too hard. I don’t know how you do it but if you’re happy, I’m happy. 😉 Thanks for sharing Freddy’s week. And you know he’s only keeping your chair warm until you can come join him, right??? 😀
